Another incentive to leave a comment or two
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
We forgot to mention this in Wednesday’s post. Since we don't want to be the ones doing all the talking on this blog, we've decided to encourage all of you to comment as often as you'd like by giving away some free stuff to comment makers chosen at random.
Here's how it works. When you leave a comment, however short or long it may be, you have the option of entering your e-mail address. Those comments with an e-mail address (we need it to contact you in case you win), will be entered to win the monthly prizes.
The prizes might be some coupons for free ice cream or they might be ice cream-related stuff that we'll be reviewing on the blog. That includes things like books, ice cream scoops, t-shirts or other products that happen to catch our eye. (Anyone have any suggestions?) We'll also let you know on the blog who the winners are each month just so you don't think we're kidding about all this prize giveaway stuff!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

we love your fat free frozen yogurt very smooth and creamy..we buy the flavors that contain no nuts/treenuts as our son has those allergies. because there is no mention are we safe from cross contamination?

July 23rd, 2007 at 7:39 amMy husband and I just found your German Chocolate Cake limited edition ice cream.
All I can say is AWESOME!
You should make that a regular flavor instead of a limited edition!
July 13th, 2007 at 12:51 pmThanks!
I first tried Turkey Hill at my Mother’s house in Connecticut. We cannot buy it here in southeastern NC. Please sell your product in the stores down here such as:

May 10th, 2007 at 2:57 pmAs a nutrition program assistant, I see how difficult it is for some to get the required ammount of calcium in there diet. So most are tickled to find out that Turkey Hill ice cream offers them another option–who would have thought, ice cream being good for you. Thanks
February 23rd, 2007 at 11:06 amwhy don’t you have coupons that we could try some of your products. I have tried some products and brag about them but I’d like to share some of your coupons with the people I work for so they could try them too. I do home house cleaning for alot of homes and it would help you to get your product name in there house.
January 23rd, 2007 at 2:19 pmI can’t buy your products where I live in GA, boo hoo. But, a friend sent your site and I played some games. Later I received a tiny stuffed cow in the mail. Next box I mailed to my 7 year old granddaughter I included the cow. She called immediately and said: Grammie, I just love the little cow!! It’s so cute I can’t stop playing with it !!
January 22nd, 2007 at 8:44 amMy grandaughter loved your cow at the farm show, i looked for your stand at the show but couldn’t find one, where you there or just the cow.Love Turkey Hill products.
January 14th, 2007 at 9:56 amI love Turkey Hill products too, particularly the Caffeine Free Diet Iced Tea. I’m anxiously awaiting the time they come out with a delicious fat free/calorie free/ice cream that actually helps you lose weight and build muscle. Please start with Chocolate.
December 28th, 2006 at 3:16 pmThat Cherry Gelati is really good! I heard that Turkey Hill is going to make it all the time now. Hope they make a rootbeer flavored one too.
December 1st, 2006 at 3:38 pmJust give me plain old Vanilla and I’m a happy camper…
December 1st, 2006 at 10:55 amUm… for dessert today, I had you mint chocolate chip and i have to say it’s the best around. Though Market Basket’s is okay, too.
November 30th, 2006 at 6:55 pmWhat a wonderful idea and enough of an incentive to get me to post my very first blog entry. I hope this works and you get it.
November 23rd, 2006 at 7:54 pmI wish that Turkey Hill would produce an ice cream that uses chocolate shavings (chocolate chip or mint chip ice cream). There is an intense flavor sensation that the shavings give without losing the orignial flavor of the ice cream. Your Vanilla and Chocolate ice creams are up on the top of our list…why, I think I hear a dish of chocolate calling me right now!
November 18th, 2006 at 8:54 pmJust had the Cherry Gelati Ice Cream and it is the best…i’ll never stop at Rita’s again!!
November 15th, 2006 at 8:54 pmI miss Turkey Hill!!!! Just moved from MD to NC, and the nearest source is about 45 minutes away. I’m gonna have to make a run with a cooler sometime soon. The ice cream is great, but the iced tea is addictive too!
November 13th, 2006 at 8:20 pmLove the fat free sugar free Dutch Chocolate - any other FF/SF flavors on the Horizon? Hail to Kroger for carrying your products -only store around the Raleigh area where they’re available (that I’ve found!)
November 13th, 2006 at 2:53 pmawesome =D
November 13th, 2006 at 2:00 pmWhen I took a trip to Lancaster Cty,
November 13th, 2006 at 10:52 amI found out the Turkey Hill has a
convience store. When will you sell
you milk in the lower Delaware area?
Your ice cream is my favorite way of rewarding myself!
November 13th, 2006 at 10:00 amJILL - The image of your husband throwing out perfectly good brisket and lamb chops to make room for ice cream has all of us in the Turkey Hill offices laughing. We’re flattered! As for holiday flavors, look for egg nog in a store near you soon. (If they don’t have it, just ask your frozen foods manager to stock some!)
TRACY - It’s always nice to hear from people we met during our Giant Cow travels. We’ll pass along your hellos to Tim, Larry and the gang.
KATHLEEN - Please, please, please send us a picture of your cat! We’d love to see it and, with your permission, we’d like to post a picture of it on the Ice Cream Journal.
November 13th, 2006 at 8:37 amHi I think it would be fun to have a giant cow look alike contest. I have a cat that looks a lot like a minature version of one of your cows. It would be fun to see the photos.
November 12th, 2006 at 7:51 amlove anything with chocolate……
November 10th, 2006 at 8:50 pmHi Turkey Hill-
November 10th, 2006 at 10:22 amJust wanted to let all of you (and Bo, the giant cow) know how much we miss you at the New York State Fair. Your delicious ice cream really helped us stay cool while we were working in the parking lots, and the samples made die-hard fans and customers out of amny of us. Hope you come back some time! Hi to Tim (and Larry and the gang)
I was out of my ice cream so the other night my husband stopped at the store for me, after I told him not to because there was no room in the freezer. He came home & happily threw away our food in order to make room for my favorite Turkey Hill Ice Cream! I love your Mint Chocolate Chip, but was wondering how and if you could make a red & green mint choco chip with baby chips for the holidays….
November 9th, 2006 at 11:21 amBest Ice Cream and Tea On the market
November 8th, 2006 at 11:30 amNo problem, Wayne. Visit http://www.turkeyhill.com/75 and follow the link at the bottom of the page. Good luck!
November 7th, 2006 at 3:36 pmcant find your contest rules for 75 prizes have 3 instant numbers with no place to check them?
November 7th, 2006 at 2:35 pmJust like to tell you that your pineaple cake ice cream is sensational. Why can’t we have it all year round?
November 7th, 2006 at 12:53 pmmy children and I enjoy your mint chocolate chip icecream It has the bestflavor compared to other brands.
November 6th, 2006 at 1:56 pmKATHLEEN - It’s true we’ve been doing a lot of expanding recently, but we haven’t reached as far south as you yet. At least not on a large scale.
According to our products locator, this South Carolina store stocks Turkey Hill frozen desserts, but you might want to call ahead to make sure they still do:
Wilson’s
Highway 501, Bay Village
Conway, SC 29526

Feel free to run a more detailed search here: http://www.turkeyhill.com/products/product-locator.asp
November 6th, 2006 at 1:50 pmWE LOVE TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM
November 6th, 2006 at 1:45 pmTurkey Hill Products are great! I can’t understand why so many people like Breyers? I think it is so overrated.
November 6th, 2006 at 10:15 amI love your feature flavors of Ice cream. My favorite of them is Party Cake, I was wondering if the recipe had changed from last year? I thought I rember that it was made with vanilla Ice cream now I see it’s just plain not vanilla, also seems like it has less cake pieces than last year and more icing. I have purchased several 1/2 gallons so far this year and all are similar….Either way it’s still fantastic, I was just curious. Please if you do expand don’t let the quality sag. Iv’e have herd the wisper expresion “don’t worry nobody will know the difference”, but beleive me they do!…
I LOVE Ice cream! I like trying different flavors, but I think my favorite is your Philadelphia style vanilla ice cream! I love the flavor and it is the best out there! I love making ice cream sundaes and Turkey Hill philadelphia style vanilla is my secret ingrediant to an AWESOME sundae!
November 6th, 2006 at 10:03 amWe absolutely LOVE your light line! Great variety of good flavors - any plans on expanding it even further? I don’t know how you would pull it off, but a light recipe Party Cake would be awesome!
November 6th, 2006 at 8:46 amWow! Where do we start? This was the first weekend for the Ice Cream Journal and judging by the amount of comments we’ve received, it looks like it’s doing pretty well.
ERIK - Your question about “the perfect scoop” is interesting. In fact, there are a few ways to make a perfect scoop, either at home or for advertisements. I think we’ll make that the subject of one of our upcoming posts. Keep an eye out for it!
KIM - We’re flattered that your daughter is so loyal to our cookie dough. Can she tell it’s not Turkey Hill brand just by taste? Now THAT would be dedication!
KATHLEEN and GEORGE, we’re looking into some answers for you. To everyone else, thank you very much for your compliments! It’s always nice to hear from people who love ice cream as much as we do.
November 6th, 2006 at 7:55 amIce cream is my vry favorite food. I am diabetic and one of the carbs I allow myself t have is your icecram, I simply cannot give it up!
November 5th, 2006 at 12:44 pmHave you done any polling about our favorite flavor-or flavors? It would be interesting to see the top five listed. George
November 4th, 2006 at 6:44 pmMY MOM JUST HAD A LARGE SIZE MUG OF YOUR COOKIE DOUGH ICE CREAM, TOPPED WITH TWO SCOOPS OF VANILLA, CHOCOLATE AND STRAWBERRY. GUESS WHO FOLLOWED HER FOOTSTEPS TO THE FREEZER NEXT?
November 4th, 2006 at 4:07 pmI’m a former PA/NJ resident living in South Carolina for almost three years now and suffering unbearable Turkey Hill withdraws. Please, Please consider sending your incredible ice cream South there is nothing like it. It just doesn’t seem like Christmas without Turkey Hill Eggnog.
November 4th, 2006 at 3:34 pmI have enjoyed your ice cream since it came to the store where I do my shopping. I especially like Mint Choc. Chip. Keep up the good work.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:22 pmThere is only one COMMENT!
D E L I C I O U S
November 4th, 2006 at 9:42 amI would just like to say my four year old knows Turkey Hill. She only eats Turkey Hill Cookie Dough, and if she gets any other Brand she says “Mom this is not my Turkey Hill Cookie Dough” and will start to cry! So please do not ever stop making the best ice cream out there.
November 3rd, 2006 at 8:51 pmQuestion? Does anyone know how to make a perfect scoop? I always see these great photos, but when I try it, my ice cream isn’t perfect looking. (but in reality, it tastes the same … great!)
