HANGING OUT AT THE PENNSYLVANIA FARM SHOW
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
As many of you know, Turkey Hill Dairy is dedicated to preserving local farms and the farming culture, so it should come as no surprise that the Turkey Hill team will be at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania this week.
The first clue to our presence is our Giant Swirly Cow sitting outside the Farm Show Complex’s main Cameron Street entrance. That’s her below, dwarfing the regular-sized cows that graze the lawn outside the complex. And just inside the Maclay Street entrance, you’ll find the Turkey Hill booth, where we’ll be giving out free samples of some of our new products from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you’re planning to visit the Farm Show this week, feel free to stop by and say hello.
It’s hard to believe over 400,000 people visit the Farm Show—or not so hard to believe according to some members of our weekend team. But don’t let the crowds discourage you from visiting. The food alone is worth the trip (not to mention the 800-pound butter sculpture of Benjamin Franklin).

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

ISABELLE’S MOM - Glad you like the Light Recipe line. There are plans to expand the light line-up in the near future. Stay tuned to the Ice Cream Journal for announcements.
January 25th, 2007 at 5:59 pmI love the cow from the farm show. it’s so cute!!
January 24th, 2007 at 4:36 pmI also enjoy your gelati ice cream that I bought recently. It’s the cherry italian ice, and it makes me feel like I’m California dreamin’ about summertime on a beach on a winters’ day in PA. Hope to see more flavor of the Light Recipe, too…I love the Moose Tracks and Strawberry cheescake. Your quality is the BEST…keep it coming!
I’ll bet the Duetto will make me buy gas at the Turkey Hill Mini Mart, too.
I’m in Arizona since the beginning of December. Am going home to New York next week. Sure missed the Turkey Hill Ice Cream, since it is unavailable here. Will be glad to get some when I get home; and hope to try the new flavor. It sounds delicious!
January 23rd, 2007 at 11:59 amI’ve lived in Columbia Co all my life (all 65 years) and this year was the first time I’ve ever visited the farm show. I was so impressed - but, we were taken to the entrance on the other side of the building and missed your beautiful cow. I’m so disappointed. Will it be on display anywhere else, soon? Loved our stop at your booth at the show also. Turkey Hill ice cream is the best. We used to buy another brand - but switched to Turkey Hill several years ago and eat a dish a day, at least! Just love it!!!!
January 22nd, 2007 at 6:58 pmSince I frist tried Turkey Hill Ice Cream I will not buy any other as I stuck on you
January 22nd, 2007 at 6:05 pmGlad you liked it Jim, and glad to have you as a reader of the Ice Cream Journal!
January 22nd, 2007 at 5:28 pmI was at the Farm Show on opening day and stopped by the Turkey Hill display twice, because I found the new flavor Duetto out of this world. I have always been a fan of Turkey Hill and found the price fare compaired to some of the up scale name brands and just as good.
January 22nd, 2007 at 5:24 pmAhh, that’s our new flavor called Duetto. Look for a post about that next week. It’s an entirely new type of frozen dessert!
January 22nd, 2007 at 4:41 pmI stopped by and had some of the new ice cream…the samples were cherry water ice and vanilla ice cream…it was the best!!
Thanks for the ice cream and coupons TH
January 22nd, 2007 at 7:56 amJust another cow for you
January 22nd, 2007 at 1:58 amI am not a big fan of cherry, but I just had the mango and it is awesome…it’s actually surprisingly close to eating gelati from a stand
January 19th, 2007 at 10:58 amI asked the crew at the Farm Show and they said the Duetto is in the Turkey Hill Minit Markets now and will be in other stores starting in FEB.
January 17th, 2007 at 3:57 pmDidn’t get a chance to start by the Farm Show but I can’t wait for this flavor to show up in the stores. I guess it’ll be soon. I had it a few weeks back but can’t find it now. Would like to see a root beer flavored one too - Rita’s is great.
January 17th, 2007 at 11:16 amGlad you liked it! We’ve been hearing good feedback about the new flavor everywhere we go which is, of course, encouraging.
January 16th, 2007 at 12:34 pmgot samples at the farm show, it was awesome!
January 16th, 2007 at 10:57 amI can’t make out the label - what flavor is this? It certainly looks yummy!
January 12th, 2007 at 12:53 pmGreat idea Joy. An entry about the winners of our 7.5 tons of manure prize is being posted in a few minutes. As for other winners, we’ll see what we can do to highlight them as well. In the meantime, you can check some of the winners here: http://www.turkeyhill.com/75/party-guests/party-guests.asp
