It’s not a new development, but we found this story and had to share it. A team of neuroscientists at the Institute of Psychiatry in London have proved that eating ice cream can make you happy.
Using MRI devices and other fancy machinery, the doctors scanned the brains of people eating vanilla ice cream and found “an immediate effect“ on the parts of the brain that are activated when people are normally engaged in enjoyable activities.
Sure, the findings aren’t that surprising. Everyone knows ice cream is great, but imagine what the results might have been had the subjects been eating our Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough or Tastykake Chocolate Cupcake. Are there any volunteers for that study?

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Hmmm…I can’t wait to try the new fried ice cream flavor…I’ll sign up for the study…I’m thinking I could break the machine when I taste that ice cream. It sure sounds like it will be good
It always makes me happy! I have certain “days” when I eat ice cream, usually during my favorite TV shows (always durig American Idol). On those days when I think about the ice cream I’ll be having later that night, I get happy! It sounds weird, I know, but that’s the power of ice cream.
I think that study is absolutely correct. If someone scanned my brain even while I was thinking about Ice Cream, anyone would see the happiness I would feel. Ice cream is the most enjoyable thing I can think of. I could eat it everyday if I had to. Thanks for making the best flavors, and especially for the new water ice with ice cream combination, I know you’ll win tons of hearts over with that one!!! Thanks Again!!!

My Mom is 91 years old, lives with me part of the time, and she LOVES her ice cream, which of course, is Turkey Hill. It is the highlight of her day to have her big bowl of ice cream at bedtime. I do believe that this is one of the reasons she has lived to be 91. ICE CREAM MAKES YOU HAPPY , and being happy keeps you living longer! Mom is living proof. I myself, LOVE Turkey Hill Frozen Yogurt! Chocolate Marshmallow and Peanut Butter/Marshmallow is the best!!!

I eat meat and veggies which are no carbs to make room for my treat of the day! ICE CREAM! It is only 15 to 21 carbs per serving and that doesn’t raise my blood sugar above the recommended amount
:):)! Also, Thank for your ice cream containing peanuts as peanuts are low carb too!
This is true. I use ice cream as an example when talking with patients about chemicals in the brain and how they effect our moods! Now how about making Strawberry rhubarb pie ice cream again?!

BEST THING I HAVE EVERY EATIN!!!!!!!!
[...] There’s a reason ice cream is considered a comfort food. You can’t eat ice cream while you’re mad. Go ahead, try it. It’s like trying to sneeze with your eyes open. Impossible. It works for sadness too. In movies and TV we always see jilted lovers healing their post break-up wounds while curled up on the couch with a big carton of ice cream. Something about that double fudge swirl just makes everything better. It’s a proven fact. [...]
