To help spread the word about Duetto, our public relations team sent out a news release about the new product. It’s standard procedure really, but with each release they’re also sending an official Duetto coffee mug. Only it’s not an ordinary coffee mug.
The mug is printed with the Duetto logo on one side and a cow on the other, but when you pour hot liquid into it, the cow changes colors from a typical black and white Holstein cow into a red and white Duetto Swirly Cow. As your coffee or tea cools off, the old cow fades back into existence. Check out the video below for a demonstration.
The transformation happens thanks to the use of a temperature sensitive, thermochromatic ink called leucodye. Thermochromatic inks are also used in mood rings and stick-on aquarium thermometers, but those applications use a more accurate liquid crystal ink.
We happened to put three of these magic mugs aside and we’re giving them away to three Ice Cream Journal readers chosen at random (readers were chosen from those who left comments in the past month or so). We’re thinking about making a bunch more and adding them to the Turkey Hill store. We’ll keep you posted if that happens.

I have been eating Turkey Hill Ice Cream for many years. When I lived out of state I couldn’t wait to get home to have some. Just saw the cow mug. It is terric idea, just like your ice cream and drinks.
There are two of us. Seniors. We buy a Turkey Hill 56 oz. about every 2 weeks. One time it’s a flavor I like, the next it’s one that my wife of 40 years likes. This time it’s my turn. I’m going to try Duetto. I love to eat your ice cream with a cup of black coffee, usually Hazelnut and with Moose Tracks. The mug would go great. Thanks for the opportunity.

Moooooo cow cups. I would love to have one of these. Actually, two of them. I know my grandson would love it. He could eat all his Turkey Hill Ice Cream in it and then run under hot water and watch the cow change. I too love Turkey Hill Ice Cream. My favorite is Vanilla Bean but I will definately be looking for the Root Beer Float flavor next time I go shopping. Please, please, make more of the cow cups available.

duetto has to be the best invention to icecream ,just thinking of the soft serve vanilla and my favorites lemon /or cherry venice ice makes my mouth water ,and now a”cow cup”to top it off

The Duetto line is great! Very refreshing. I especially like the mango flavor. Since I watch portion control, the dilemma comes when I need to make a choice – duetto or your fabulous flavors of Turkey Hill ice cream. Oh, if I could only eat Turkey Hill Duetto and ice cream all day long…

Please make these cups available in your store. Let me share with you true this story. My wife has a collection of Holstein cows and this is why.
Before my wife’s mother passed away, she told each of her siblings that she would never leave them, and this is how!
From the time they were in school she reminded each of her children that once she passed on in to heaven, she would come back to them in the form of a black and white (Holstein) cow. That they should always check each pasture they pass to see if she is lying under a shade tree. They should stop and stare for a moment, If it is MOM, she would wink at them to remind each of them that she is with them in spirit and continues to love each of them.
I never met my mother-in-law but I still stop just to see if per chance she might know who I am and know how much I love her daughter. I hope she knows that all of her grandchildren continue the beloved tradition. Thank you for another reminder!

Why can’t I vote for several inclusions. I finally decided on walnuts, but I like pecans, cherries, and Carmel in ice cream. Maybe you could make a new flavor with all those inclusions.

Love the mug, am a coffeeholic, and an ice creamholic, and of course a chocoholic. If you like chocolate try the Death By Chocolate flavor, it isn’t brown, it is so chocolaty it is black, YUMMO

Cool cup……..I think you should add a Chocolate Duetto Flavor. Either Chocolate Ice Cream with Fruit Water Ice or Chocolate Water Ice with the Vanilla Ice Cream. Yum!
