SIX DAYS AND COUNTING (GET YOUR SPOONS READY)
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
The start of National Ice Cream Month is only six days away. To celebrate, we’re going to be posting a new entry EVERY DAY on the Ice Cream Journal. It’s a pretty ambitious task, but we’re ready for it if you are.
Speaking of Ice Cream Month, we’re going to be sending out an e-mail about the celebration and the blog later this week. If you’re not already on our e-mailing list, you can sign up here. You’ll receive occasional updates (about once a month) about new flavors and things that are happening here at the Dairy.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

I never knew that there was a specific month for ice cream, but we like it any month. Turkey Hill Moose Tracks is sooo yummy!
July 21st, 2007 at 9:08 pmWe always keep a box of Peanut Butter Mania for our kids ( dogs Duncan and Gillie). Thanks for making the best ice cream ever!
“There’s gold in them there (turkey) hills!”
July 13th, 2007 at 7:55 pmI just bought 4 boxes of Turkey Hill ice cream for 1.99 each. Now where will I fit them?
July 7th, 2007 at 7:59 pmFour containers of Turkey Hill in the upstairs freezer, three in the downstairs freezer-why do you have so much ice cream my kids ask?-as they walk away with a bowl stacked six scoops high!!!
July 7th, 2007 at 7:51 amDutch Chocolate became my all-time overnight(or overday) favorite flavor, something I never expected, and now I can’t have enough of that flavor.
July 6th, 2007 at 10:28 pmWe love ice cream …I got some coupons from your calendar so decided to try Turkey Hill. Only one store in the city I shop in had it so grabbed my cooler and hit that store and stocked up… It is all delicious and I will continue buying it..It is the best…keep up the good work…
July 6th, 2007 at 5:55 pmIce Cream is always a treat at our house, but Turkey Hill is the only one creative enough to provide us all different favors for us to choose from. Just think a different ice cream for every month of the year! WOW, Turkey Hill ice cream supplied free for one year! Who could ask for anything more?
July 6th, 2007 at 12:36 pmTurkey Hill is the only ice cream, in fact the only dessert that my husband can eat since he lost use of his pancreas. The fat free, no sugar added icecream is a main staple in our home and he’s be lost with out it. Thank you.
July 5th, 2007 at 6:47 pmA Turkey Hill is three blocks from my house, so to justify eating so much Turkey Hill Ice Cream, I walk to and from the store. Then I eat twice as much because of it.
July 5th, 2007 at 11:13 amI think ice cream is the closest to beign a truly universal food.
July 4th, 2007 at 11:39 pmI believe that everyone, well almost everyone, loves ice cream.
I haven’t seen any surveys on this but I never met anyone who doesn’t love eating ice cream.
It’s got it all.
It has the perfect blend of great taste and great nutrition all rolled up in one!
What a great way to celebrate not only great ice cream but also Turkey Hill with National Ice Cream Month. It is a great excuse (as if you needed one) to eat Turkey Hill ice cream everyday.
July 4th, 2007 at 2:36 amDoes anyone know of an ice cream festival going on (in Pennsylvania?) this summer?
July 3rd, 2007 at 2:29 pmThis month (July) is special for me. It is a baby boomer birthday. I will be celebrating all month long with Turkey Hill ice cream treats. It is my way of saying you deserve that special award for being born.
July 3rd, 2007 at 11:02 amSo let the party begin!!!! Happy birthday to me.
I love Turkey Hill. Thanks for being sooooooooo good!.
I have a confession to make. My father-in-law LOVES Black Cherry Ice Cream and one day he bought Turkey Hill Black Cherry Ice Cream and the Moose Tracks for my husband and me to try, (this was the first time we had ever tried Turkey Hill Ice Cream.) For me the Moose Tracks was a big hit, my husband told me that the Black Cherry was great, I who would NEVER eat Black Cherry said Black Cherry is Black Cherry and I don’t like Black Cherry! Anyway to prove to him I was right I tasted it! It was very good! The only problem with that was I had to to him he was right!
July 3rd, 2007 at 7:58 amWe have been buying Turkey Hill ever since. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup is to die for!
I can’t wait to celebrate with some Turkey Hill coffee ice cream…
July 2nd, 2007 at 9:53 pmI’ve written you before, because of our love for your ice cream, frozen yogurt, and iced tea and all the rest. We would’nt buy any thing else ,EVER!! Keep it all coming. Would love to see a low fat dark chocolate frozen yogurt, or choc. with dark choc. bits . Thank You Turkey Hill!!!!!
July 2nd, 2007 at 7:44 pmI think your double churned Mint Choc. Chip is the best I have ever tasted.
July 2nd, 2007 at 6:42 pmTurkey Hills Ice Cream should be called the creamiest ice cream.
July 2nd, 2007 at 3:14 pmThe butter pecan is my favorite. Never a shortage of pecan’s.
What a wonderful treat for kid’s of all ages!!
Keep up the good job
The mint chocolate chip rules.
July 2nd, 2007 at 2:50 pmMy favorite flavor is Party Cake! I think the best way to describe Turkey Hill’s Party Cake ice cream is that it is truly like a party in your mouth! Cheers to whoever invented this absolutely heavenly flavor!
July 2nd, 2007 at 7:50 amI have been practicing for Ice Cream month all year - I am ready!
July 2nd, 2007 at 6:59 amHappy Ice Cream Month! Get your spoons!
July 2nd, 2007 at 6:30 amI agree with Carol. The only ice cream we eat is Turkey Hill.
July 1st, 2007 at 9:13 pmUnfortunatly I can only enjoy my Peanut Butter Paradise for half the year. I spend half the year in Florida and I miss, miss, miss my ice cream every day.
July 1st, 2007 at 8:43 pmPLEASE GET A SOUTH FLORIDA DISTRIBUTOR.
You’ll make me and a lot of people very happy.
EVERY MONTH AT OUR HOUSE IS TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM MONTH. IT’S THE ONLY ICE CREAM WE WILL EAT.
July 1st, 2007 at 11:55 amRarely do we have fewer than two flavors of ice cream in our freezer. Our daughter is a chocoholic so one is chocolate based and the other can be anything from cookies and cream to mint chocochip. It’s our favorite bedtime snack.
July 1st, 2007 at 8:55 amMy three children all have celiac disease and your icecream is their only delious sweet pleasure. Every thing that is gluten free does not taste and is not as rewarding as your icecream. The twins are 7 and my son is four. They had me make their birthday cake with your icecream. It came out wonderful. My kids cry when we run out of Turkey Hill Icecream.
July 1st, 2007 at 8:46 amIt is now ice cream month,July 1st, WOO HOO a little late by 8 minutes, but I went to get some to eat right now, cookies and cream tonight, I returned to the computer late, could’nt decide what flavor! At our house we could use a years supply, but I will still have to buy more!
July 1st, 2007 at 12:12 amBecause of high cholesterol — I’ve had to start eating the frozen yogurt. There is nobody out there in ice cream land that does frozen yogurt like Turkey Hill. My husband who would NEVER EVER put his lips to anything with yogurt in it eats Turkey Hill. Imagine a whole year free. Keep up the good work! Keep up the great flavors!!!!!! Keep those new flavors coming!
June 30th, 2007 at 8:49 pmBecause of high cholesterol — I’ve had to start eating the frozen yogurt. There is nobody out there in ice cream land that does frozen yogurt like Turkey Hill. June 30th, 2007 at 8:43 pmJust recently Turkey Hill Ice Cream was available in our area in Ohio. I had to keep asking that they carry the ” lite”. Now another store in the area is carrying Turkey Hill and have all of the different varieties.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:37 pmBest I have found.
THANK YOU!!!!
Turkey Hill Ice Cream is the BEST! Choco Mint Chip is my favorite. Years ago, I used to buy whatever brand was on sale. Once I tasted Turkey Hill though, that went out the window. Now, I only buy Turkey Hill. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup is good, too and so is Southern Lemon Pie and come to think of it every flavor is good! Keep up the good work!
June 30th, 2007 at 6:49 pmWe always have at least three boxes of turkey Hill Ice Cream in our freezer and can hardly wait to see what you come up with next! Keep up the great work!

June 30th, 2007 at 9:27 amWe love Turkey Hill Ice Cream at our house! My son is 2 years old and asks for it all the time.
June 30th, 2007 at 9:23 amTurkey Hill is the best ice cream around! I remember several years ago attending the Ice Cream Fesitival in Lancaster- now that was an Ice Cream Lover’s dream come true. I wish the Fesitival would come back- this time, I’m might share it with my kids.
How about a Peanut Butter Ice Cream with waves of smooth Peanut Butter accented with ripples of Chocolate Fudge. Can you tell I’m already a huge fan of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup?
Keep up the tremendous work!

June 30th, 2007 at 7:50 amMy family loves ice cream! One of my favorite desserts to make during the summer months is a really easy ice cream cake that I learned about from my sister-in-law. There are NEVER any left overs.
June 30th, 2007 at 7:38 amIn a pyrex 11′ x 13′ pan layer the following
Turkey Hill ice cream sandwiches
Tub of Low fat cool whip
Chocolate fudge sauce or marshmallow
then repeat again
On top of last layer of coolwhip, add sprinkles and topping of your choice.
Freeze overnight and take out right before serving.
It is a HUGE hit with kids and grownups…
ENJOY!!!!!
We love Turkey Hill ice cream all year long…..vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, butter pecan, neopolitan, orange swirl, peanut butter ripple, cookies and cream, rockey road, cookie dough, dutch chocolate, and PARTY CAKE!
June 30th, 2007 at 7:31 amTurkey Hill is the best!
Strawberry has always been my favorite, but Moose Tracks and Chocolate Chip Mint run pretty close. as soon as I walk in the door with ice cream I go straight to drawer and get a spoon. Don’t even wait until I put other things away, yummy yummy so good.
June 30th, 2007 at 12:18 amI once told a friend that the name “Turkey Hill” just does NOT appeal to me. That friend told me that Turkey Hill is THE best ice cream. So of course, I had to see for myself! Am I glad I did. There is no other ice cream that is as smooth,as rich or as delicious! I enjoy all flavors, but Butter Pecan is my favorite.
June 30th, 2007 at 12:03 amTurkey Hill Ice Cream! It’s a flavor that you will never forget It’s the best…

June 29th, 2007 at 11:05 pmI just spent an evening with our 18 month & 3 years old granddaughters. What a Joy!! They ate cantaloupe and a dish of Orange Cream Swirl. The little one used her plastic fork, then picked up the dish and “drank” the melted ice cream. PaPa made a special trip to the market to get the kind they like. PS He had the Butter Pecan.

June 29th, 2007 at 4:08 pmI got sent an awesome calendar for 2007.
Ice Cream is my favorite dessert, and June is perfect for it’s honor.
I love the lite recipe of TurkeyHill ice cream. Having diabetes makes it tough to get an ice cream that tastes really good instead of sugarfree.
June 29th, 2007 at 4:00 pmNext weeks flyers show Turkey Hill on sale at my local grocery. What a great start for ice cream month.

Turkey Hill is my favorite brand in the whole world and especially since they started making fat-free frozen yogourt. I love the chocolate and marshmallow flavor and…mmm i think i’m going to get some now ^^

June 29th, 2007 at 11:49 amIn our house, we don’t usually buy anything but Turkey Hill ice cream. Dutch Chocolate is our favorite but we like a lot of the other flavors too. We live in Dover, PA and go to Lancaster a lot. I always comment about how many Turkey Hill trucks we see on the road. We only buy Turkey Hill ice tea too!

June 29th, 2007 at 11:35 amI wait all winter for that pleasure.
I have a friend who insists icecream is diet food. She says that since icecream is so cold your body burns extra calories heating up to melt it down. Thus, you burn the calories you eat. . . Anyways, I like her way of thinking!
June 29th, 2007 at 11:22 amMy gynecologist once asked me what I’m doing to have such a good calcium count. My answer: “It’s the bowl of ice cream I eat every night!” He told me to keep it up and I usually do, esp. since Turkey Hill became availalbe in NJ.
June 29th, 2007 at 10:51 amTurkey Hill ice cream for a year would be amazing. It would be worth the extra hours at the gym.
