SECOND SCOOP - FLAVORS AND PERSONALITY LINKED?

Posted by: Turkey Hill Team

Ever wonder what your favorite ice cream flavor reveals about your personality or which flavor you’d be if you were a bowl of ice cream? Here’s your chance to find out.

(Following originally posted January 16, 2007)

They say our preferences for just about anything –- from cars to houses to dog breeds -– can reveal a little (or a lot) about who we are as people. Apparently even your favorite flavor of ice cream can indicate whether you’re shy or outgoing, a leader or a follower.

We’ve managed to track down a few of these online tests and present them here for you to try for yourself. Most of the tests ask you to choose your favorite flavor and then tell you what that preference reveals about your personality. Seems simple enough. This test is one of our favorites.

This one works backwards by asking a series of questions and then revealing what flavor you are based on your responses. And this quiz takes the process one step further by telling you which flavors you are most romantically compatible with. From the looks of it, strawberry lovers have very few enemies!

Hello to all you ice cream lovers. This is the last Saturday in National Ice Craem Month. I hope you are well prepared as this will be a very hot day and NOTHING cools and refreshes as much as a nice dish of Turkey Hill Premium Ice Cream. I stopped at the store yesterday for a carton of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and will certainly put it to good use this afternoon when the temperatures peak out near ninety. Thanks Turkey Hill,

Hello Turkey Hill, It’s a pretty warm day here in Buck’s County and I’m going to attack a big dish of Turkey Hill Rocky Road ice ccream as soon as I finish this little blog. Nothing like Turkey Hill on a warm day like today. Thanks Turkey Hill.

Gerry wrote:

I just took your quiz & I love vanilla & the description fits me just right. Also, the rocky road compatability is right too.

Will you ever bring back Whoopie Pie
flavor?

Dani wrote:

Haha! I never knew my ice cream flavor knew so much about me! Right on the money!

Sorry strawberry lovers… I’m a Rocky Road gal. ;)

The Tests were fun, not exactly accurate as I was Butter Pecan and that is not in my top 10 list of favorite Ice Creams.

We were just on a beach family vacation and tried the German Chocolate Cake Ice Cream on a recommendation from a friend. The Family went NUTS and it was gone in a flash. We search 3 markets to find another tub and it was not to be found…sure hope that it stays around for awhile longer… it is just terrific! We ended up getting several other flavors of Turkey Hill instead and enjoyed them all. Keep up the good work!!!!

One of my favorites is Neopolitan. It’s not on the list but I think it means that I am a fun loving guy!

I truly think the personality quiz fits me.
In fact, I am tied between two different flavors of ice cream- Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
Both personality descriptions describe me.
Uncanny!

This was so much fun, and it seemed like I was a little bit of everything, which is about right! My husband, however, is a Butter Pecan, in every way!

Thanks for the laugh! There are so many ice cream flavors available today, a real in depth assesment may take days.

I don’t agree with my assessment.

Turkey Hill Team wrote:

Yeah, we should have warned everyone that these results weren’t scientific. There are a few people around the office here who were downright offended at the results of some of these tests (”Strawberry?! I’m not strawberry!”)

SARAH - We occasionally reprint some of our favorite blog entries from the past. This is the second of four “Second Scoop” entries we’ll be posting in July. After this month we’ll probably do Second Scoop entries about once a month.

Carol wrote:

My favorite is Vanilla and I go well with Rocky Road. On the Reverse test I’m Butter Pecan and I go with Strawberry. Not! I would be more attracted to a Vanilla-Rocky road mix.Throw in a little Chocolate and you have the perfect bowl of… I mean …perfect match…Ta Dah!!

Jen wrote:

Butter pecan and strawberry tied for first for me. But the other test where you pick your favorite flavor of ice cream and it tells you what you’re like… that one worked. It was me! That is so weird!!!!

Sarah wrote:

They didn’t work for me… as you all know I am a mint chocolate chip lover and when I did the backwards one, I had only 11.1% chance of Chocolate Chip… Anyway- they didn’t even have Mint Chocolate Chip!!!

Why did you guys do this article again? Do you normally do that??

Mint Chocolate Chip servants unite!!!!!!!!!!!

Caroline wrote:

Like John from the list mine is Butter Pecan and my husband of 40 years hate anything with mint. We must be the exceptions to the rule.
My number one favorite is Black Rasberry and my husband’s is Pastachio, then either a rich chocolate or a nut and even better both like a Swiss Dark Chocolate with nuts.
