THANKS FOR A GREAT NATIONAL ICE CREAM MONTH!
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
Where did July go? It seems like just yesterday we were talking about the start of National Ice Cream Month, encouraging everyone to indulge in a double scoop of their favorite flavor, professing our undying love for ice cream and everything ice cream related. And now it’s July 31st. (sigh)
But if there’s one thing we learned during this delicious 31-day journey, it’s that we don’t need an excuse to celebrate ice cream. You said that time and again in your comments. “Every month is ice cream month!” was a common refrain. We agree. Especially August. It’s HOT in August. September can be pretty warm too. And October, as the first smell of autumn hits the air…well, nothing beats ice cream in October. Except for ice cream in November.
You get the idea.
Thanks for making this one of the best National Ice Cream Months ever and thanks for all your comments throughout the month. It seems like we gained a lot of new readers and we’re happy to have you onboard. Our goal for July was to post a new entry every day, and we did that (except for last Saturday…technology can be tricky sometimes). We’ll be going back to our normal entry schedule now—about three times a week. We hope that’s enough to sustain your craving for ice cream knowledge. If it’s not, just let us know with a comment!
Speaking of comments, since this is the last entry of the month, it will be your last chance to enter to win a ONE YEAR supply of ice cream. We’ll choose one July comment at random to receive the grand prize and four comments—no, make that TEN comments (we’re feeling nostalgic and generous at the end of National Ice Cream Month)—will receive a ONE MONTH supply of ice cream. Good luck!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

August 1st, 2007 at 8:31 amDaughter Gayle and I just finished our weekly Tues. nite of eating Turkey Hill ice cream, covered with whipped cream, toppings, nuts, etc. Even Weight Watchers cannot keep us from our treats.
August 1st, 2007 at 12:20 amMy favorite ice cream is Turkey Hill. Lots of variety to satisfy anyone’s cravings. I especially like the Duetta’s and Raspberry is the best. I wait for it to go on sale and then stock up!
July 31st, 2007 at 11:16 pmWow that month did go fast! I enjoyed your blog and learned a lot of useful information.

July 31st, 2007 at 8:40 pmI hope I win the free ice cream so that I can treat my extended family to an all out ice cream mania. Thanks Turkey Hill for the great idea!
July 31st, 2007 at 7:58 pmI’ve always loved Turkey Hill ice cream, especially the vanilla. It is the only vanilla that I’ll buy! I’ve tasted lots of others and none come close. Thanks!
July 31st, 2007 at 7:51 pmIt’s been a good month for ice cream. Cheers to Turkey Hill!
July 31st, 2007 at 7:19 pmI truely enjoy your website, good information, fun pictures, tastey recipes and most importantly great ice cream. I was fortunate enough to run across a half gallon of German Chocolate Cake a few weeks ago and it was outstandig, yet another flavor to add to my list of favorites.
July 31st, 2007 at 5:37 pmOh yeah!
ICE CREAM!
July 31st, 2007 at 5:04 pmIt has been fun being a part of a blog about ice cream! We’ve often told our friend (or did he tell us?) who owns our local ice cream shop that he has the best job in the world. Serving people ice cream always makes them happy
July 31st, 2007 at 4:08 pmMaybe in August we can learn how Turkey Hill iced tea is made…how ’bout Ernie?? Do you know about tea too or only ice cream?
July 31st, 2007 at 4:07 pmIt’s been fun reading all the entries this month.I’ve enjoyed writing in my first blog. I’m sure, like many of the other T.H. bloggers, feel like we got to know the company better. Also I feel like I gotten to know many of the bloggers. Some personalities really stand out. I can relate to many of the comments made. Ice Cream people are the best. Well I have learned alot and plan to keep checking back in. It’s become a fun habit. Good luck to every one in the drawing… I thought I would be nice and say that even though I want to win !!!
LOL .. but really GOOD LUCK!
July 31st, 2007 at 3:32 pmHave to say I’m addicted to Turkey Hill Vanilla Frozen Yogurt. Absolutely just love it. Of course, love your other ice creams as well but have to watch the figure, so the Frozen Yogurt fits well into that.
Keep up the great work.
July 31st, 2007 at 3:26 pmI want to first thank you for the contest. It was a lot of fun writing the blog replies and interesting reading your blogs and their replies.
July 31st, 2007 at 3:05 pmI know you have seasonal flavors and you mentioned November. Please no PUMPKIN flavored ice cream. Pumpkin pie is one thing but not ice cream.
When are you having pistachio for my husband? I have to buy from one of your rivals for him and it only comes in pint sizes
This may be my last posting as it’s getting late in the day. I just want to say thank you for all the wonderful facts, pictures, and tempting recipes. I’m sure my family will benefit from my newfound knowledge. My 6 year old twins and 2 year old seem to have inherited my love of ice cream. It must have been my nightly mug (or two) during pregnancy. Here’s to hoping we win the Year or Month supply.
July 31st, 2007 at 3:03 pmThis has been fun, blogging faithfully every day.
Turkey Hill team, I have a suggestion for next July. You should do a special ice cream like Duettos and advertise it as your Ice Cream Month Ice Cream. I had never heard of Ice Cream Month (so I got to overinduldge like CJ), so I’m sure others haven’t either. You could do something different every year. Maybe that’s a wacky suggestion, but people thought the lightning rod was weird at first, too.
The only good side to this being the last day of Ice Cream Month (other than winning free ice cream) is that I was running out of things (EX: Mint Chocolate Chip ____________ unite!!!!!) to say at the end.
Oh well!
Mint Chocolate Chip loving people unite and celebrate the last day of Ice Cream Month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 31st, 2007 at 2:40 pmThis has been fun! Glad I got the e-mail at the end of June from you guys reminding me about the Ice Cream Journal. I have you in my RSS folder now, so anytime you share stuff about ice cream - July, or not - I’ll see it. And, it will probably make me want some ice cream…
Not that I need any help with that.
TEN people, eh? Sweet! Very generous. I do hope we’re one of them, but even if we’re not… reading the ice cream blog this month has certainly piqued my interest in that Duetto stuff. Our local store doesn’t carry Turkey Hill, but there are plenty that do around our general area. We’ll have to score ourselves some of that… the Mango one looks interesting…
Oh! And it’s Buffalo Bills football season, too! We got our season tickets this week, and in the envelope (along with the tickets) was a $1.00 off coupon for Turkey Hill ice cream! (There is a special Buffalo Bills flavor.. Stampede Sundae… very nice!)
This comment is long. Perhaps it’s the 30 straight days of ice cream… topping it off tonight with a trip to our favorite local ice cream stand! Or, our second favorite. We’ll see.
Keep the ice cream stories coming!
July 31st, 2007 at 2:38 pmThree times a week should be enough. I wouldn’t want to get ‘brain-freeze’ from too much ice cream knowledge!
July 31st, 2007 at 2:31 pmEnjoyed the postings and responses.
July 31st, 2007 at 2:26 pmDifferent and nice!
Oh dear… free ice cream!? I might go a little crazy trying all the flavors on the shelf at once! But I’d love to try some of the more wacky ones in some new recipes. Here’s hoping you pick my comment!
July 31st, 2007 at 2:09 pmIn our home, every month is ice cream month! I have enjoyed the blog this month, and learned a lot about ice cream and its production. Keep up the good work, Turkey Hill! You make a bad day better and a good day GREAT!!!
July 31st, 2007 at 1:44 pmCan’t believe it is the end of the month already! Thanks for all the great info, I am really looking forward to more!
July 31st, 2007 at 1:36 pmWOW! The months fly by, but then, when your days are filled with fun and ice cream, of course they seem to move quickly.
Thanks Turkey Hill for the blog fun and the ice cream. I’m going to have to stick with the low-fat versions for a few months, wow, did I overindulge this month. Perhaps I’ll make it a tradition, every July, I will enjoy whatever ice cream I want. In honor of National Ice Cream month.
Summer’s moving out, school is moving in. I love to sit on the front porch om Autumn evenings with a bowl of ice cream.
I am sure to continue checking in though. It’s become habitual.
Thanks for the memories, Turkey Hill.
July 31st, 2007 at 1:06 pmthanks for all the good stuff about ice cream.
July 31st, 2007 at 12:39 pmI learned a lot and am looking forward to enjoying more ice cream.
I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for a month. It really flew by. I’ve enjoyed my first blog. It’s been a lot of fun. It’s also great to know that I’m not alone in my unyielding LOVE of ice cream. Sometimes I think it’s just not right that I HAVE TO HAVE my Turkey Hill every night but it’s true.
July 31st, 2007 at 12:29 pmwe truly enjoy your ice cream We purchase alot of ice cream in a year’s time and about 95% is turkeyhill ice cream.
