HAPPY NATIONAL ICE CREAM SANDWICH DAY!
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
That’s right, the ice cream-related celebrations just keep on comin’. Of course, this means you can go out and buy a box of ice cream sandwiches and dig in. (You didn’t think you were going to cut back on ice cream now that ice cream month is over, did you?) Before you dash to the grocery store, check out the picture of the freezer case on Wikipedia’s “Ice Cream Sandwich” entry here.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

August 6th, 2007 at 2:21 amYES, Thanks for the blog to enjoy, and the month of ice cream. I sure hope it is a CARTON PER DAY, LOL, To bad it wasn’t the year supply.

Funny observation…the two words we had to type in to enter this comment (yes, we have to type the words too) are “roller judge”. Can you imagine a judge on roller skates in some sort of weird “roller court”. Okay, maybe that observation isn’t that funny.
August 2nd, 2007 at 11:12 pmI know this is off-topic, but I needed to check for validity… I just got an email from “icecreamjournal@gmail.com” requesting some of my personal info. Well, anyone can create a gmail account, and there was no security and/or logo info here from Turkey Hill. Is this really you guys??? Sorry to be so paranoid, but you can never be too careful, ya know?
August 2nd, 2007 at 10:19 pmYour ice cream sandwiches are great!
August 2nd, 2007 at 9:14 pmI haven’t found these yet. My hubby loves ice cream sandwiches. I think he likes the fact he doesn’t have dirty dishes to wash or take back to the kitchen.I could eat a couple of these a day also. I guess two would be equivalent to about the size of the bowl of ice cream I eat at night.I laughed when I read the serving size on the package(14). I think 10 would be a more realistic portion size in my household. I will have to ask the frozen food manager to order these ice cream sandwiches. My son works there so maybe he can persuade him to order them for his mommy and daddy.
August 2nd, 2007 at 8:00 pmI Loved making Toll House (Reg)Cookies and drop them by Tablespoons full on a cookie sheet, bake them up and slather ice cold chocolate ice cream between them then wrap them in plastic wrap and the bake to the freezer except the last one. I’d take it out to my pool put on my Walkman and enjoy a book while licking the sides and ocassionally biting of chewy pieces of the cookies. Oh to be young athletic and having the ability to burn off all those calories!
August 2nd, 2007 at 4:42 pmOmigosh… I was HOOKED on these when I was a kid. I could eat 2 or 3 a day! Oh… to be young again.
I haven’t tried one of the TH ice cream sandwiches yet, but I might just do that tonight when I get home. Wouldn’t it be good if the edges were pressed with mini-choco-chips or mini-R****’s Pieces? Yum!
August 2nd, 2007 at 4:13 pmYeah, Turkey Hill. Didn’t know you made ice cream sandwiches.
WOW. Learning more each day.
