Today is the last day of August. Even though summer doesn’t officially end until September 21, doesn’t it always feel like summer ends with August?
September. It’s one of those “ber” months. Followed by October, November and December, which definitely mean colder weather. Oh well. The leaves may change colors, kids may go back to school and the temperature may fall, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop eating ice cream. No, that goes on no matter what month it is.
Speaking of months, congratulations to our two August prize winners, Sue C. from Coulters, PA and Lee C. from Philadelphia, PA. Their comments were chosen at random to win a Cooler Shopping Bag and some free Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Just in time for that crisp Autumn weather!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Can’t wait for Summer to end and for the cooler Fall weather to arrive.
ber months – I love it.
I have never heard that before, but I will still enjoy Summer until September 21.
The older I get the more I dread those ber months. One consolation however, is those ber months have some wonderful holidays! Pumpkin pie and that wonderful vanilla ice cream. Yum.
I can’t wait for cooler weather. I never stop eating ice cream though.
Congratulations to the winners!
There is nothing like vanilla ice cream with apple pie or apple crisp in the Fall! Perfect dessert for us and definitely for company.
Being as ice cream is definitely one of the “Basic Food Groups” specially if it has fruit in it (that makes it healthy),, we eat ice cream yr round!
Love fall, HATE winter!
Even though summer is almost over, I still love to eat ice cream year round, especially my big bowl of Turkey Hill.
I love the “ber” months. I may slow down on my ice cream, but I still enjoy it no matter what the outside temperature is!
Ice cream is a any season treat spoons out an cones up !!!!
I’m excited about the fall weather!! My ice cream habits will not change =). Although, I’m still upset that nobody will tell me what state/or town I can find German Chocolate Cake Ice cream!! I live in South Jersey. I know it’s limited edition, but I’m dying to have at least a teaspoon full. Who wants to share? =) He he!!
I scream for Ice cream year long!
