THE GRAND PRIZE HAS BEEN CLAIMED!

Posted by: Turkey Hill Team

Just a quick note to let everyone know that the mysterious “Artemis” has revealed herself and claimed her prize of a year’s supply of Turkey Hill ice cream. She’s from Rockville Centre, NY, just outside New York City. When we spoke with her yesterday she was anxious to share her free ice cream with friends and family members. Overall, she was very happy about her win, especially since she’s got a birthday coming up in a few days. Congratulations once again to Artemis and all of our July winners!

THE HARDEST WORKING TODDLER IN ALL THE LAND

Posted by: Turkey Hill Team

Remember a few weeks ago when Ernie said he first started working in the dairy industry when he was about 18 months old? That’s right, Turkey Hill’s official ice cream tester got his big break carrying empty milk buckets to his dad when he was milking the cows.

Well, the folks in our customer service department worked a little magic and dug up the picture below of a very young Ernie hard at work on the family farm. According to Ernie, this picture was probably taken sometime in March or April of 1940.

CONGRATS TO OUR ICE CREAM MONTH WINNERS!

Posted by: Turkey Hill Team

This past weekend was our first weekend without a blog post in a long time. We said for National Ice Cream Month that we’d blog every day and now that July is over it’s hard to go back to our regular schedule (three posts a week). The ice cream journalist in us wants to write, write, write, but it’s not easy to keep up that pace…even though it is a lot of fun!

But on to the good stuff. CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of our Ice Cream Month giveaway. Last Thursday we chose one July comment at random to win a year’s supply of Turkey Hill ice cream and 10 more comments to win a one month supply. So far we’ve heard from nine of our month winners, but we still haven’t received a reply from our grand prize winner (a person who identified themselves in their comment as “Artemis”). Artemis, if you’re reading this, drop us a line to claim your prize!

Here’s our nine monthly winners so far:

  • Deb B. from Dover, NH
  • Thomas O. from Westampton, NJ
  • Kim S. from Cleona, PA
  • Denise K. from Palmyra, PA
  • Christina M. from Somerdale, NJ
  • Todd T. from Emporia, VA
  • Susan W. from East Meadow, NY
  • Holly K. from Rockville, MD
  • Lee A. from Sewickley, PA

Typically, one month and one year supplies are four containers and 52 containers respectively. That’s determined by awarding one container per week  (we use coupons), but we were feeling generous (and maybe a litte hungry) so we upped the prize to six containers and 60 containers just for this special occasion. Congrats again to all of our winners. Also remember, we give away random ice cream prizes to commenters every month, so keep those comments coming!

HAPPY NATIONAL ICE CREAM SANDWICH DAY!

Posted by: Turkey Hill Team

That’s right, the ice cream-related celebrations just keep on comin’. Of course, this means you can go out and buy a box of ice cream sandwiches and dig in. (You didn’t think you were going to cut back on ice cream now that ice cream month is over, did you?) Before you dash to the grocery store, check out the picture of the freezer case on Wikipedia’s “Ice Cream Sandwich” entry here.

ICE CREAM THIEF ON THE LOOSE!!!

Posted by: Turkey Hill Team

Now that ice cream month is over, it’s time to get down to business. We can start by nabbing an ice cream thief. Yes folks, someone in central Pennsylvania was so sad to see ice cream month end that according to the Patriot-News they stole “$300 in frozen treats after breaking into an ice cream truck in a lot off the 100 block of North Bedford Street in Carlisle.”

Carlisle is about half an hour from Lancaster. We need to catch this person before they strike again. If anyone has any tips about this horrible act (seriously!) call the police at 717-243-5252.
