FEATURED PHOTO: OUR VERY OWN SCHOOL

We were poking around online and found the image below on a website featuring all sorts of decorated paper butterflies created by students from across the nation. This particular artist is a student at Turkey Hill School in Orange, CT. That’s right, there’s a school called Turkey Hill! According to the website, the school has 317 students in grades one through six. We’re not sure where the students go after the sixth grade, but we’re positive it’s not as delicious as the Turkey Hill School.

famous in PA and now in CT too.
I hope this butterfly will travel the world with the news of Turkey Hill ice cream.

  2. lee carr says:

but what this school needs is some Turkey Hill Ice Cream on their lunch menu.

Boy the things you can find searching the web!

  4. Pat says:

Nice drawing! I hope those kids get Turkey Hill ice cream with their school lunches.

The humorous side of me needs to ask…what classes do they offer?
The “history” of ice cream? How to “read” ice cream labels? “Accounting” for ice cream missing from your freezer. The “art” of choosing the perfect flavor. The “science” of creating fabulous ice cream. “Marketing” techniques for frozen treats. They get good marks just for the name alone!

  6. Sue says:

Is TH ice cream sold in CT? If not,, I think you should contact that school and make them aware of the fact their school is named after a famous ice cream,,, maybe send a couple half gals for good will and to let them know what they’re missing! lol

  7. Caroline says:

I agree with Sue about sending them some TH ice cream for their lunch program. TH Ice cream sandwiches before Thanksgiving would be a great treat at lunch for the students (and I am sure the teachers). If we did not use our coupon we would have donated it to you.

out of the minds of children. too bad they don’t stay innocent. it would be a perfect world

Did you know? Martha Stewart started her first catering business out of her own kitchen at her four-acre Westport, Conn. estate called….. TURKEY HILL. She sold it in May of 2006 for $9 million.

Now Ernie lives there (just kidding).

  10. Stefanie Schmidt says:

What a great picture, and I sure hope the kids get some Turkey Hill, they deserve it.

  11. Jennifer says:

I agree with the suggestions of some of the other posters in recognizing this school in some way. It would be great if you could surprise that school with an Ice Cream Party, or some Turkey Hill merchandise, or just a nice little note from Turkey Hill ice cream!

  12. Kathy D. says:

Well doesn’t that picture just say “make your own Turkey Hill sundae day” at Turkey Hill school? What a way to honor both! This site just keeps on amazing me.

My granddaughters live near Turkey Hill Road,in Orange,CT where that school is located. I was so surprised to see that in your ice cream newsletter. We do have Turkey Hill ice cream here and I’m sure the students would love to have some.
