CONGRATS TO OUR SEPTEMBER WINNERS!
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
Congratulations to the following winners of our September prize (the Turkey Hill Dairy history book, also available in the Turkey Hill online store).
Stefanie S. from Las Vegas, NV
Jennifer D. from Weston, OH
Mary Anne S. from Staten Island, NY
Pamala C. from McKeesport, PA
Artemis F. from Rockville, NY
Some of you may remember Artemis’ name as the winner of our July grand prize of a one year supply of ice cream. This history book should come in handy as she heads into the third month of her prize (10 containers down, 50 more to go!). Also, you’ll notice Stefanie is from Las Vegas, which makes her the farthest winner we’ve ever had. Unfortunately, Turkey Hill Ice Cream isn’t available in Las Vegas, so we’re hoping she knows someone on the East Coast who can use the two free ice cream coupons that we’re adding to each prize this month.
By the way, did anyone see the comment from Caroline in the previous post about the ice cream bowl? In it she divulged a habit her husband has: “My husband (when we do not have company) likes to get every bit of his TH by licking the bowl.”
Thank you for that hilarious image, Caroline! He truly does love his ice cream. I think most of us — at least those of us without pets — would like to do this or ALREADY do this, but we’re too shy to admit it.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

Hey Rose, I am sorry that you were disappointed with the Duetto flavors because I find the Lemon Venice Ice and the Cherry to be excitingly delicious. It reminds me of Italian ice I used to get when I was a kid in the good old days at the neighborhood pizza shops.
October 11th, 2007 at 8:10 pmCAROL - We love you idea (crazy things people do with their ice cream cartons). And DOROTHY…you’re not alone in your urge to sneak a few bites of the new ice cream.
ROSE - Sorry to hear that you didn’t like our new Duetto flavors. We’re testing some new Duetto options for release next year. Maybe you’ll like one of those better. As for nuts, we’ll pass that along to our flavor development team. They’re always happy to get suggestions from customers!
October 10th, 2007 at 10:12 amCarol is correct. As soon as I get home I get a spoon for each new flavor before I put the ice cream in the freezer. My husband just stands there and look at me and then ask, “aren’t you ashamed”? LOLOLOLOL
October 8th, 2007 at 4:07 amI tried the Duetto and was very disappointed with it. All flavors. I love your ice cream, but this definately is not it.
October 7th, 2007 at 1:13 pmI wish you had more flavors containing nuts.
Thank you Turkey Hill! I am one of the winners for September and am very excited about it, and yes we all lick our ice cream bowls at one time or another, its a great thing, especially when it gets on your nose! Thanks again!!!!
October 5th, 2007 at 4:35 pmCongrats to the other winners !!I am a big reader… I am looking foward to reading the history of Turkey Hill Dairy.Though right now my Father is really enjoying the book!!
October 5th, 2007 at 2:21 pmI am so excited to have won a prize! I am proud to be the farthest away winner. Unfortunately I don’t have Turkey Hill in Vegas, so please feel free to give my coupons to someone near you, I am just happy with any prize you can send me. Thanks so much, I wish you could send me some real Turkey Hill since I can’t use the coupons =)
October 5th, 2007 at 3:57 amI am one of the listed winners and I can’t tell you how excited I am! Thanks so much Turkey Hill!!!
October 4th, 2007 at 3:45 pmI agree with Dani. You can’t tell me when you buy a new flavor you don’t get a spoon and taste it right away when you get home! I’ll come home from the grocery store , flip that top and grab a spoon and enjoy that first bite. If I buy 3, I’ll grab 3 spoons and take a bite of all of em’!I don’t double dip with my spoon. The rest of the family wouldn’t appreciate that. I told my husband that the removed spoonful was probably somehow formed when seperated from the machine that fills the carton at the factory. LOL He didn’t buy that! When there is a bowlful left I sometimes eat from the carton also. This might be a good subject to feature in a blog. Silly things you have done with T.H. ice cream. I have put the T.H. in a different container(in the freezer) when I wanted that last bowlful from a carton. There’s 4 or 5 other flavors the family can choose from. If you get that craving for that one certain flavor and it’s almost gone… well? What would you do? Yes, I’m also the one who has combined different flavors in cartons to make more space in my freezer when there’s a T.H. sale a the grocers… What ice cream oddities will you admit to?
By the way Congrats to the winners!
October 3rd, 2007 at 10:31 pmDani, that was funny!!! I can’t lie! I have my own container…. that I don’t share!!!
October 3rd, 2007 at 8:44 pmCONGRATULATIONS to allll the winners!!!
This month’s poll needs a third option: Who needs a bowl? I get out a spoon and eat it straight from the carton!
