WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Posted by: Turkey Hill Team

November is drawing to a close and so is this month’s poll. Barring a last minute groundswell of support for chocolate or coconut, it looks like root beer is the fan favorite as the next potential Duetto flavor. Thanks to everyone who weighed in with your opinion this month. If you haven’t voted  yet, you’ve still got a few days left to do so.

The next poll will be posted on Monday, December 3. We’re having a little trouble deciding what next month’s poll question will be, so we thought we’d let you decide. After all, through your comments and emails you’ve already given us so many new ideas for blog entries and new ice cream flavors. So think for a little bit and feel free to leave a comment or email Ernie via the link on the right. And remember, no survey question is too goofy or obscure!

I could go for a special holiday ice cream in honor of the turkey in Turkey Hill: cranberry and stuffing flavored ice cream - a perfect end to a nice turkey dinner- I love Turkey Hill!

My wife & I have tried just about every ice cream there is over the past 50 years and Turkey Hill is the best by far .. Rich & creamy …

How about which ice cream gives you the most vitamins? I suppose it would have to be a fruit flavor, but just the calcium alone in ice cream is a good enough reason to eatit. Well, actually the flavor and the consistency and the yummy additions… they’re all the best reasons to ry a bowl of ice cream goodness!

I’ve been making all kinds of ice cream cakes; chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip ice cream in the middle, whipped cream on top, sprinkled with mini mint chocolate chips;;;this is a big hit. cherry flavored cake with vanilla ice cream and marachino cherries in the middle, whipped cream on top, sprinkled with marachino cherries……the different types are endless….

This may be somewhat late, but in response to Ms Larson’s queston of what ice cream Santa would like? How about a HOT fudge sundae to ward off the cold.

How about TH Ice Cream Cakes!!!!! Do you have those out in PA? I bet they’d be a big winner!!! I’d get one for every occasion!! I love how Carvel makes shapes like footballs and Easter Bunny’s, has TH thought about permanently putting out an ice cream cake? I’d love that!! Do your own special pizazz to it, and WOW the ice cream world!!

How about what flavor goes best with what flavor of cake? We always try an interesting combination for birthday parties!

SUE - You work at a chocolate factory?! That’s almost as great as working in an ice cream factory!

I would enjoy a Pineapple Cheesecake Yogurt, or perhaps Blueberry Cheesecake Yogurt.

John from PA wrote:

Mary Frey, I agree with you 100%. How about ALL Coconut ice cream, no crust, no cake, nothing but coconut.

Jennifer wrote:

Christina, the Snyder’s Chocolate Pretzel is a permanent flavor in the Light Recipe line and in full strength in the Creamy Commotions line.

Iris Hooke wrote:

I like to mix Dr. Pepper drink–regular–into vanilla ice cream for a Dr. Pepper shake (a thick one). Wonder if it would be possible to have the same taste in ice cream? Thus, not having to beat in the Dr. Pepper.

Clara Schoch wrote:

I really just want to say, Please continue makeing Chocolate Cherry Cordial. I buy it every time I go shopping if I see it. Just a little whipped cream and I have a Sundae.

Christina wrote:

I love the Snyder’s Chocolate Pretzel, I totally think that should be a permanent flavor, it seems wrong not to be!!

How about remembering your favorite flavor when you were a child?? I still can remember that wonderful strawberry revel(?) that I loved. There was a drug store in town that had an ice cream counter where you could get the best treats-like a cherry fosphate, any flavor ice cream soda or that strawberry revel in a cone. It was rich vanilla ice cream with a thick strawberry concoction running thru it.

Adrian wrote:

Another good poll is which feature flavor from this past year could become a permanent one.

JimFM wrote:

For next months posting, how about having a poll to see how many ice cream lovers would be interested in quarts of ice cream. Having quarts would help out a household where there is only two people and a 1/2 gallon who be too much, or a household where it can’t be decided what flavor they want between two flavors and still want the 1/2 gallon capacity, everyone would be happy.

Anne King wrote:

Like the pie idea. One of my favorites this time of year is pumpkin. How about pumpkin ice cream?

Schmoe wrote:

Schmoes like blueberry pies. See above!

Sue wrote:

I think a poll on which “type” of ice cream everyone prefers. Personally, I would like to see a bigger selection of the Low Fat, No Sugar types. Also, I work in a chocolate factory and we’ve started putting alot of “Healthy” things into our chocolate and they are BIG sellers,,,, I”ll bet they would sell big in ice cream too.

Edwin Gaus wrote:

Talk of pies makes me think of blueberry pie. Think blueberry which would good in ice cream and perhaps red rasberry. Perhaps a poll should be taken to determine which ice cream additive would the most benifical to your health. I would vote for blueberry, good for the brain.

lee carr wrote:

not just a survey of cup vs cone, but what type of cone do you like, and is there a special type of cup/bowl that is prefered?

Dani wrote:

Ooooh…. I’m drooling over all the pie-flavor suggestions… Note! There is a pumpkin pie ice cream recipe here on the Turkey Hill site for those interested!

For the next poll: how about “Which Limited Edition flavor is your favorite?” Have we done that one yet? I vote for Baked Apple Dumpling (just bought another box today)!!

Jennifer wrote:

Man, I loved that Southern Lemon Pie. That was awesome. I wish I had gotten some of the coconut pie. I think coconut would make a good Duetto flavor too.

Kelly D wrote:

how ’bout what cake flavor added in, like whoopie pie, i know it’s not a cake but it is chocolate, another poll, let us send you pictures of our favorite bowls, cups etc. that we eat our ice cream out of!!

Turkey Hill Team wrote:

Lots of great suggestions so far! Keep ‘em coming. We’ll choose one on Monday.

JACQUELINE - We definitely love pie-based ice cream flavors. Earlier this year, our featured flavors included Southern Lemon Pie ice cream and Coconut Cream Pie ice cream. I wonder if we still have some leftovers around here!

How about one of the following survey questions:

Cup or Cone?

What type of cone do you prefer?

Ice Cream that’s very hard - right out of the freezer or soft (my mom and I both leave our ice cream on the counter or use the microwave - obviously we go for the soft)

Adrian wrote:

Yay for Root Beer!! The quintessential Lancaster County beverage. As for poll ideas, how about gathering some feature flavor ideas and letting us pick similar to the Duetto poll?

Stefanie Schmidt wrote:

Wow that pie ice cream idea was amazing, I would love some cheesecake flavors too! I can’t wait to see what future flavors evolve.

Jacqueline wrote:

Any interest in putting out a line of pie ice creams? Chocolate cream ice cream, pecan pie ice cream, apple pie, pumpkin pie? It seems to me it might sell well around the holidays. That could be a good question for your next poll.

Jennifer wrote:

For next month’s poll, how about what is your favorite food to have with or in ice cream?

P.S. I have to say that I am very pleased that Root Beer is so far ahead in the poll. I think that would be a great Duet flavor.
