One more day until the start of the 12 Days of Ice Cream! We can’t wait. The prizes have all been ordered and delivered. A bunch of us have already determined that that we’re going to have to buy a few extras for ourselves (the spaghetti ice cream maker on Day 3 looks like a lot of fun).
A few readers have asked about how the grand prize of one year’s supply of ice cream will be distributed to the winner. It’s a good question.
No, we won’t mail you a container of ice cream every month. We also won’t show up on your door step with an entire year’s supply of Moose Tracks stacked high on a wooden pallet (“Clean out the freezer!”). Instead, the winner will receive 52 coupons for a free container of Turkey Hill ice cream. They don’t expire until the end of the year 2010, so you can take your time using them. You can even give them away to friends if you want!
Also, the grand prize will be chosen from ALL the comments left on the Ice Cream Journal during the 12 Days of Ice Cream. So even if you don’t win a daily prize, you’ve still got a shot at the big one. Good luck!

Icecream for the holidays is a great idea. No baking required and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like it. We fancy it up a bit with a bit of pepermint snops and some sprinkles on top for a great desert.

This ice cream is the best! My favorite at the moment (changes all the time!) is the Duetto gelati…all flavors! Keep those cool cows happy and give them a raise! They are doing a wonderful job!!

well,i love the idea of the ice cream for the holidays. Being crowned as the “IceCream Monsters Mom” by my son and his friends is a title I proudly wear. Out of all the brands that are out there, my son’s fav is whatelse ? Turkey Hill. I think he would eat an entire 1/2 gallon in one sitting if I let him!

Turkey Hill is the best ice cream! It was great to travel this summer and still find it in the stores. We love all the flavors, but mine have to be anything with chocolate.
I love ice cream all year round. So many people stop eating it during the winter and I cannot understand that. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Mint Chocolate Chip, Balck Raspberry, and Cookies and Cream are the things I want for Christmas. I lived in Western New York for a while and was so happy when Turkey Hill finally showed up in the local grocery stores.

Turkey Hill is my favorite ice cream brand. It’s definitely the creamiest and you can’t beat the Peanut Butter Cup flavor. It’s the favorite in our house by far.

What an AWESOME contest!!! I was born in raised in Lancaster, and therefore had weekly infusions of Turkey Hill Ice Cream all my life. Then, in 2001, I moved to WV and went through a TERRIBLE withdrawal!!! No Turkey Hill products? How could I survive? No ice cream, no TEA…. what to do?!?!? ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I had to travel back regularly to Lancaster for a “fix” (Of course I needed an excuse to see my folks, too) and was thrilled to death to FINALLY see that a local store here carries a very limited supply of Turkey Hill treasures that I can buy any time the urge hits. Now, if I could just convince Turkey Hill to re-make my personal ALL TIME, hands down favorite… Butter Brickle!!!

For Christmas this year, we are making Ice Cream cakes made from Turkey Hill Ice Cream for our Christmas family gathering.
We make our own Ice Cream Cakes using Turkey Hill Ice Cream and a Spring form pan. It’s less expensive that the ice cream chain stores and you can customize flavors and decorations as you like!

Turkey Hill Products are the best. I had moved out to California for a little while and this was one of two things I missed most, the other being family. I refuse to buy any other ice cream or iced tea. With all of the seasonal holiday flavors out I need a bigger freezer!

If there is one weakness every member of our family has, it’s eating Turkey Hill ice cream! Even Chipper, our chi mix loves vanilla, and gets a spoonful occasionally as a special treat.

Ice Cream and the holidays is not new for our family. We have a “make your own sundae bar” and everyone just loves it!
I love the Mint Chocolate Chip, but the Black Cherry comes in a close second. We live just down the road a bit from Turkey Hill and smile whenever we see a Turkey Hill truck driving by wondering what treats are going where.

When I moved to Hanover 12 years ago ,I had never heard of Turkey Hill having come from Baltimore, MD. This is the best ice cream and with so many flavors to choose from I never get bored. Keep it coming because I have 7 grandchildren who love your ice cream.

I recently tried a new one…SKINNY MINTY! It is lower in fat and calories. I have to say; it was so incredibly good, I couldn’t believe it was missing anything! Thanks for thinking of us who are really watching what we eat!

OK Could not pass up this contest. Too yummy. My girls like to venture on different flavors, the husband light ice cream, but I have to admit, I am a plain old vanilla ice cream lover. With or without toppings. Years (lots) ago my dad would buy me these dixie cup ice creams for a treat, dont know if I can mention the brand.But can I add it has “flecks of vanilla bean in it”. Well, I bought a half gallon container of it and actually dumped it. Wasnt worth the calories. Tasted like plastic and cardboard combined. Not that I really would know what that would truly be.

Turkey Hill has become the standard by which I judge all other ice cream: no matter which brand it is, it’s just never as creamy, flavorful, or just plain delicious as the many varieties of Turkey Hill I love. For a short time my local grocer stopped selling Turkey Hill frozen yogurt- guess what? I stopped shopping there until they brought it back. It’s doubtful that my boycott was that powerful but who knows?…and how about those Duettos in the summer? So fruity and delicious! No wonder all of the celebrations in our family require the good stuff from Turkey Hill!
Since we are the “older” generation and winter in Florida – we look forward to
coming home in the spring to Turkey Hill Ice Cream!
My husband tells me “these really are your children” as he is scooping 2 bowls of vanilla and 1 bowl of cookies and cream. I love Turkey Hill ice cream. I was so glad to find a low carb/no sugar version. It really taste like regular ice cream. I just wish they would make other flavors in that! My favorite although I can’t eat it is black raspberry.

The weekends are ice cream weekends in my house. My nieces visit us on the weekends, and every weekend after dinner , my dad breaks out the tubs of ice cream and we all make ice cream sundays, complete with chocolate syrup , nuts, and whip cream. and afterwards we all sit there with a chocolate mustache on our huge grin.

Ice cream is a year round staple in our house!! Nothing is more satisfying when you’ve got a sweet craving than a bowl of Turkey Hill – most any flavor will do. We purchase a different one every week (along with the usual favorite, of course) so that we get to try them all. In our opinion, ice cream stores should be open all the time, not just during the summer!!
Every November we go into a deep blue funk because we cannot get TURKEY HILL ice cream until May. We spend the winter in Florida and there is no distribution here.
Great stuff. That coconut ice cream is a winner. I look forward to seeing that again. The posting time seems to be one hour ahead of the correct time.
I just purchased 2 more gallons of Turkey Hill. It is my favorite ice cream, and I love the Vanilla with Venice Ice. They are all actually quite tasty!
I’ve read that whole ice cream may actually, in some way, assist with infertitliy, so I’m eating all of the ice cream that I can!!!

Ice Cream is my comfort food. It’s been a tough year with my father being ill. He passed away in Nov and I could sure use some ice cream for comfort.

I once won some Turkey Hill Ice Cream. The bad news was there was no stores in my area the had it. The good news is I found if I drive about 40 miles I can find Turkey Hill Ice Cream and other products. Bleive me the drive was worth it. Some of the best Ice Cream and Ice Tea I have ever eaten.

As much as I enjoy all of the seasonal flavors, and new products that Turkey Hill puts out in their ice cream from time to time, your Peanut Butter is incredibly addictive and I could eat it all year round. I loved Peanut Butter as a kid, and , at age 45, it’s a taste I will never outgrow.

My Dad had a bowl of ice cream every night before he went to bed. He passed his love of ice cream on to me.
I go to my mom’s house (86 yrs young) on Thursday but I always call first to find out if there’s enough Turkey Hill ice cream. If not I go buy some. Our favorites are anything with chocolate or peanut butter.
I second the vote for Banana flavor ice cream, but it has to have honest-to-goodness banana in it, not just the artificial flavor. I’m partial to banana with a fudge swirl, but plain banana will do, too.

I am addicted to the Chocolate Cherry Cordial frozen yogurt. As a diabetic who loves icecream this is the closest thing to heaven for me. I do like your other yogurts but that one is my favorite. Never stop making it, please.

We get Neopolitan, Butter Pecan, etc etc., but not very many of the things mentioned here. Well, I’ll just have to visit the folks in January and bring a BIG COOLER, so I can buy and buy and buy! Many moons ago, as a youngster, I lived near an ice cream plant. During the summer I would use part of my allowance to purchase a pint of ice cream–half chocolate and half orange sherbet; sometimes the sherbet was on top other times the chocolate…Man, how good that tasted on a warm summer evening. Can’t recall the price, but it wasn’t much, but it sure was a delight..Turkey Hill comes closest to those bygone days. Thanks.

There is a local ice cream shop that makes all their own frozen treats in a town about 20 minutes from me. I would drive there just for a double scoop of the mango sorbet with sweet cream ice cream. But, now I can get the Turkey Hill Duetto! I also love the vanilla bean.

The ice cream contest is such a cool idea. I love anything with nuts and caramel in it. Cherry is also a favorite. I make Hubby do an ice cream run all year long when I want something sweet. When its snowing out he may protest some, but in the end he always goes as he’s an ice cream freak too.

I am originally from Turkey Hill territory – Penna. Now in the south – so difficult to get here – have to travel 40 miles or more. So when I get the best ICE CREAM it is such a treat. I am GUILTY!!! Turkey Hill has made me a real piggie. There is no other ice cream that I am able to eat by the half-gallon in one sitting. It is not ice cream that you get sick of after a small dish. The accessory to my crime was Turkey Hill’s delicious Chocolate Marshmallow. It was late at night, just me, a spoon, and the goods! My punishment?? A constant desire for MORE, MORE, MORE!!

Many years ago I drove a little Turkey Hill truck delivering ice cream to homes in the York/Hanover area. It wasn’t until sometime later than one could buy Turkey Hill ice cream in stores. I am fond of your ice cream & am mostly restricted to free free and no sugar added which is quite good. Thanks for being there.
When I entered the Air Force after high school I realized how much I enjoyed the thing unique to Central Pa. My first duty station was in the deep south, a major culture shock to me. Returning after 4 years I truly missed the things near and dear to my heart. Especially Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Thank you for serving me.
When Turkey Hill Ice cream was first available in my area,(NY) I could not wait to try it and was happily surprized! Turket Hill is so creamy and delish that I crave it even in the middle of winter. Ever try a scoop of vanilla on top of a cup of hot coacoa? Yummy!

Today is the 14th, were is the new info. I love this website. My daughter and I like to look for the crazy duetto cow, and we both love the idea of getting the cow to come to your birthday party. I keep telling her I will pretend it is my birthday too so we can share the cow if we are ever chosen. All things are possible with ice cream. My Dad was a milkman for a large Company many years ago and has sinced passed. But when I have Turkey Hill ice cream He comes to mind and all the good times we had over a large bowl of his favorite desert. Thank you for putting the fun in ice cream.

This year, the turkey hill cow was part of our local Christmas parade in Fredericksburg, VA. But the best part was the ice-cream sandwiches that were handed out.

My definition of “a one year’s supply of Turkey Hill ice cream” is different from Turkey Hill’s. Their weekly allocation is only one container, which wouldn’t be bad if that one container were a 55-gallon drum. But it’s only a single carton, which is not even a half-gallon (ever since they down-sized their containers). That’s less than half the amount it should be even for just one person.
It is sometimes difficult to choose a flavor of ice cream when there are 7 in the family. Everyone has a favorite and your Freezer only can accommodate 2 or 3 at a time. It seems they eat whatever there is so they must like many flavors. My favorites are anything with Peanut Butter. I feel guilty when I choose my favorite because it is not everyone elses….although they eat it

I believe that Turkey Hill ice cream is the best! My favorite is Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup-it’s delicious. My best friend was introduced to this product and she likes it too. Unfortunately, not all of the grocery stores in my area carry all of the different flavors.I sure would like to try the other ones.
Vanilla has always been my favorite! You can pile on the flavors or just eat it plain…you can’t go wrong! I love the low fat vanilla bean too…yum! Very creamy.

So smooth and creamy, gee the favors in any time of the year are a treasure to experience. Your cows are glad to give up their milk, and customers just keep coming back for more. Your two new editions this year Coconut Creme Pie and Pineapple Upside Down Cake were two that would be a welcomed new favors for year around serving. Lately, I have tried your holiday Egg Nog, this is great stuff. Now, I will have to try your Egg Nog ice cream and also Black Raspberry. I drive into Pa quite frequenlty and belive it or not, i transport my Turkey Hill Egg Nog and other “supplies” back to NY via packed in a cooler full of ice.

I love Birthday Cake ice cream! Vanilla is most versatile, however as far as topping, mix-ins, on the side or atop of a hot dessert, in a RootBeer Float. And haivng 4 children of my own, which means many, many birthday parties, vanilla is what MOST kids like and will eat – preference and food allergy issues (chocolate, nuts, fruit – seen them all) come into play with 1 child everytime otherwise. I have 2 kids who won’t eat cake, but all 4 WILL eat ice cream! My own fondest memories of birthdays as a child involved an ice cream cake – yum!

My mother has been eating Turkey Hill for a very long time. She eats a small bowl at 8:30PM every evening. This is the one pleasure that she told the doctor she will not give up!!! So it seems that Turkey Hill will be the best in our house for a long time. WE ALL LOVE IT. The sphagetti maker comment drew my eye. Having had sphagetti ice cream in Germany and never having seen it in the US I was interested. It was delicious but I’m certain it would be even better made with TURKEY HILL ice cream. And knowing I most likely won’t win it I was wondering if you could tell me where I could purchase one?

I had long beenaddictedto Turkey Hill Rocky Road & Tin Roof Sundae. In the fall of 2006 I tried Eagles Touchdown Sundae and again became addicted.As the 2007 football season came us I was pleased to again be able to enjoy my favorite ice cream.I wish it would become a flavor available throughout the year.
Turkey hill ice cream is the only brand my two picky girls will eat. The flavors are all great. We just avoid the nut containing ones since one of my children is allergic.I would be the coolest mom is they got to have this much ice cream. My personal favorite is columbian coffee.

Now when I go to the grocery store to
purchase ice cream I always look for
Banana Split first and if they don’t have it in the case I get your coffee ice cream.
Also, when they do have it, I purchase
both.

I put the coffee flavor on the bottom
and the Banana Split flavor on the top.
I love bananas and when I found the banana split ice cream – I went crazy -my husband even likes it.

I grew up in a house that always had ice cream as my foster father worked for an ice cream company. I thought the ice cream in our home was the greatest until shopping one day, I found Turkey Hill ice cream on sale for a much lower price than the ice cream I usually purchased. It only took one time of eating Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream to make me a believer that Turkey Hill was the best ice cream I have ever eaten. I have tried other flavors but my very favorite is Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean. Now, I won’t purchase any other ice cream but Turkey Hill. The flavors are so rich in taste. I can’t believe anyone would buy any other ice cream.
Our family is from Pennsylvania and I grew up on Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Turkey Hill Ice Cream is a staple food in our home, we always have it on hand for all holiday occasions and also for just a regular weeknight or weekend treat. I now give it to my own children and they love it just like I did as a child. Turkey Hill Ice Cream brings back so many wonderful warm memories of my childhood and I am so thrilled to share those same “sweet” times with my own children today !

I had a recurring dream as a small child of walking into our bathroom and the tub was filled with ice cream. I would wake up before i was able to get my spoon into the tub. If the ice cream was Turkey Hill, I’m sure that my dream would have been completed, as long as it was the Butter Pecan.

Since Turkey Hill is not a product found near by my home town, I often like to pick- up some to have on hand so if company comes I have something new and good for them to eat. Now my friends and family give me a list of Turksy Hill Ice Cream Flavors to pick up for them when I’m the road. You could say I’ve turned them into Turkey Hill lovers.

My husband WAS a loyal icecream eater of another brand name until the Turkey Hill Philadelphia Style came out. He pours milk over the top of his icecream and it becomes a layer of ice on it, a couple of cherries, some cherry juice ( from the cherries) and wala.

My son-in-law’s grandmother is coming from Honduras for a visit soon. She lives in a very rural part of the country and doesn’t have any referigeration.
