Here it is, Day 1 of our 12 Days of Ice Cream celebration. We were amazed at how many people visited the Ice Cream Journal yesterday. In fact, it was a record-setting day in terms of the total number of visits and comments left by all of you. We’re happy to see so many new faces and we hope to see more of you (and hear from you through your comments) throughout the next two weeks and beyond! And now, onto today’s topic, followed by today’s prize.
Everyone has a favorite ice cream flavor. Some of us say, “It’s so hard to choose, I like them all!” That may be true, but you have to like one better than all of the others, right?
To get to the bottom of this, the International Dairy Foods Association polled a sampling of the American population and the top 15 flavors in the United States are as follows:
1. Vanilla, 29% preferred
2. Chocolate, 8.9%
3. Butter pecan, 5.3%
4. Strawberry, 5.3%
5. Neapolitan, 4.2%
6. Chocolate chip, 3.9%
7. French vanilla, 3.8%
8. Cookies and cream, 3.6%
9. Vanilla fudge ripple, 2.6%
10. Praline pecan, 1.7%
11. Cherry, 1.6%
12. Chocolate almond, 1.6%
13. Coffee, 1.6%
14. Rocky road, 1.5%
15. Chocolate marshmallow, 1.3%
As you can see, it’s pretty much a case of “vanilla versus the rest of the flavor spectrum.” Is your favorite flavor in the top 15? If not, chances are it’s one of the “other flavors” that make up the remaining 23.7%.
TODAY’S PRIZE: “Everybody Loves Ice Cream” book. We’ve got a few copies of this around the office and we all love it, so we’re sure you will, too. My 9-year-old son Michael’s favorite flavors for ice cream are Phillies Grand Slam and Eagles Touchdown Sundae. The link to local sports teams can’t be beat.
I tried Peach Mango Smoothie last night. It was great!
Vanilla is my flavor of choice if I am making a sundae with lots of great toppings like Hot Fudge, nuts, whipped cream, etc. But, if it’s ice cream straight up, Butter Pecan is great! And, in the heat of summer, I prefer Peach. Yum !
Rocky Road is my all time favorite!!

Turkey Hill’s the best! Peppermint Stick Egg Nog gives and ice cream high – much better, safer and absolutely more fun than an alcohol high!

Ice cream is probably my favorite dessert. Especially with a piece of my chocolate choclate chip brownies! My favorite flavor vanilla! Of course I am drawn to lot’s of others, but always can count on vanilla, with the little flecks of vanilla bean.
Snow outside, fire inside, holiday music playing, cat curled up beside me and a big bowl of Peppermint Stick Egg Nog – what more could a person want or need?

Vanilla is my favorite and the most versitile of all of the flavors. It is delicious on its own, as a topping (on a brownie, a slice of pie, or even on a toaster streudel), or topped with your favorite flavor – like chocolate syrup or strawberry preserves.
My Favorite is vanilla. Ice cream cures all my troubles which I learned from my Mom.

My family loves Turkey Hill the most – it is much more creamy then others. Today’s personal favorite is Cho. Chip Mint. I have always loves this flavor.

Vanilla is the best bcause you can put so many delicious toppings on it to change it to the flavor you’re in the mood for.
My husband and I each have a scoop of Turkey Hill Ice Cream every evening as we discuss our day. We change flavors every month, but Cherry Vanilla seems our favorite. This ritual keeps our marriage delicious!

chocolate chip mint has been my very favorite since I was a kid; but I have to admit, I haven’t tried any Turkey Hills ice cream that my husband & I haven’t enjoyed.
A quick poll around the office here revealed a variety of favorites too. Cookie dough, vanilla, chocolate peanut butter, cookies n cream and of course, Mango Duetto (we’re just a little biased).
One of the great things about ice cream is that it’s hard to find a flavor you DON’T like. They’re all great…but some are just a little better than others. Especially during the perfect scenario Linda described earlier. “Snow outside, fire inside, holiday music playing, cat curled up beside me…”
I love Black Raspberry — I’ve lived around the country and found no one that makes it but Turkey Hill. I’m glad to be back in NYC so I can get my favorite ice cream again!!
I have always like chocolate and cookies and cream. These two would be great together.
I really do love most of the Turkey Hill flavors, but I think the Strawberry Cheesecake is just out of this world! Plus, it’s a light recipe!
Lemon Duette is my new favorite. I tried it recently and was immediately hooked. It brought back fond memories of a recent trip to Venice and Florence, Italy.
Can’t believe ONE of my favorites is so low, Choc. Marshmallow at #15~!
Wow, Vanilla is the top dog!! Never would have guessed. I’m a chocolate girl all the way, and so is my daddy. I give him ice cream for all holidays and birthdays. Does anyone else give ice cream as a gift? My dad has his bowl of Chocolate ice cream every night before bed. When I see him today I’ll double check on his TH stash and see if he needs a refill!!
I like all of the special monthly flavors (even better than most of the regular ones-except for Mint Choc Chip) I have found a Caramel Caribou much like yours, at a mini-golf ice cream stand in Harrisburg PA (and I’m not from PA). So whenever we’re nearby there, we like to walk over the bridge to order that ice cream. I think that’s my whole family’s all-time favorite: Caramel Caribou.

My personal favorite changes with every opening of the freezer door. Its a magical surprise to see and instantly crave the flavor of the week my wife picked up at the market.
I used to really only go for chocolate but vanilla and butter pecan are terrific–vanilla is my #1 now. My kids like vanilla and chocolate with chocolate syrup.
I have to watch what kind I eat since I am diabetic but sometimes I splurge and have some regular ice cream. I fell in love with the Pineapple Upside Down Cake from the summer.
A few years back, Choc. Malt Chip was a feature flavor. Well, I couldn’t get enough of it. I got my brothers hooked on it, too. Now, it’s difficult to find. I like just about all of Turkey Hill’s flavors.
Vanilla is my favorite. I like Turkey Hill vanilla frozen yogurt, or Turkey Hill vanilla light. Love it in a cone, with 3 scoops!
I am addicted to coffee. Give me a dish of coffee ICE CREAM and I have the best of all worlds.
I must say Butter Pecan is on the top of my list. My kids Love the Vanilla! My hubby’s favorite is the Eagles Touchdown Sundae. Thanks Turkey Hill!

My husband loves vanilla. I like coffee. Our granddaughter loves chocolate. The rest of the family likes a variety of flavors.
My husband loves french vanilla and butter pecan. He puts it in the microwave to just melt it a little grabs a spoon and he off I wont see him until the half gallon is gone
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ICE CREAM. Moose Tracts is the greatest. I also love ice cream and pretzels. So ice cream with pretzels is a winner for me. Love Turkey Hill. Annette
Vanilla is great to have around to top off desserts or make milkshakes, but no flavor would be turned down here.
Tin Roof Sundae is the best! It’s a sundae in a box – no need to buy other ingredients!
The guy from “The Goonies” and I both prefer Rocky Road.
At our house we love the Duetto’s. My favorite is the lemon and my husband likes the cherry.
Sue’s love of coffee ice cream presents an interesting dilemma. If it’s coffee flavored, does that mean you can eat it for breakfast? Oh, who are we kidding, you don’t need an excuse to eat ice cream for breakfast!

I like the butture peacan flavour very much.Not only me but my parents also like butter peacan very much.even in winter I dont hesitate to eat ice cream.

Coffee or coffee with anything else mixed in as a flavor is my all time favorite. Years ago I tasted rum raisin ice cream, that was terrible, only time I ever found a taste I didn’t like.
I love the Duetto’s, they’re just not as heavy on a hot summer day.
Vanilla is my favorite and I like it even better when it is a little melted.
Ice cream is like music, so many wonderful kinds to choose from, most often the choice is a reflection of my mood or the immediate environment. Sometimes rich and decadent, other times light and fruity.
I can understand why Vanilla topped the list though, you can do so much with it to suit any mood!
My favorites are the nutty flavors –Butter Pecan or anything with almonds in it.
No matter what flavor as long as it’s Turkey Hill, I’ll eat it. Keep up the great work.

Hard to believe vanilla is actually the favorite, more likely the first flavor thought of (and did Turkey Hill intentionally eliminate Sherbet flavors….)
Our favorite is still by far, Malt Chocolate Chip or now wait is it Pumkin?! Wish pimpkin we could buy in the store. But we only ever see it at our local ice cream shop. It is so yummy though.

I would have to say my favorite flavor of ice cream is the Strawberries & Cream. Those large strawberries are the best. Thanks alos for the calendar each year. It’s cool seeing all the new flavors offered during the year. Way to go Turkey Hill.

Vanilla is most people’s favorite (as is mine) because you can add so many different ingredients to make it more unique and tasty!
I am surprised cookies-and-cream is not higher on the list. For more than 40 years, my family has added crushed cookies–oreos and chips ahoy being our favorites–to ice cream treats.
Fat Free is my favorite (guilt free) flavor
I just love ice cream. Most any flavor will do, but if I had to pick I just might take Vanilla, that way you can add just about anything to it, for whatever your mood is that day. I particularly like to add, chocolate and peanut butter syrup, or bananas and whipped cream, and don’t forget the cherries!!
I really enjoyed banana split this last summer but do not see it in the store very often.
The fudge in the vanilla fudge ripple is SUPERB!!! A little more fudge, please and it can be called Vanilla Fudge Ribbon – YUM!!!
There is nothing better that homemade apple pie with chocolate ice cream on top…
My favorite, hands down, is Turkey Hill Party Cake. If I had one last meal, that would definitely be the dessert.

French Vanilla with hot fudge and nuts has to be the ultimate ice cream sundae treat. Or to be really decadent, use a super chocolately nutty ice cream with the hot fudge.

Peanut Butter would be the ultimate, but since the peanut butter cookie hasn’t been made for years and years, Philadelphia Style Vanilla can’t be beat.
My husband swears by black raspberry anything, but it is hard to find. I’m more traditional, vanilla for me.

I’ve never met a Turkey Hill flavor I didnt like….. but all in all I have to go with a plain and simple Vanilla! Turkey Hill Light and Frozen Yogurt allows to me to enjoy when my family is scooping their favorites ( party cake for the chubby hubby, moose tracks for the ice cream monster son and bowl licking for Tipper the cat)

I don’t think there is such a thing as bad ice cream! Although, I think one of my favorite Turkey Hill flavor’s is Philly’s Graham Slam! I love it over a warm cookie with some Caramel! YUM!!!
I love your peanut butter cup flaver! I must add, that I can never find your flavors of the month, or of the season to give them a try–and I live in NYC, we are supposed to have everything–aparently we don’t have everything as I can never find your seasonal flavors!
Vanilla ice cream is a staple at our house (you know, like milk and bread), for making sundaes or when I make chocolate chip waffles. But as my children’s friends know, we always also have an assortment of other flavors as well: chocolate peanut butter (for me), cookies and cream (for my daughter), and fudge ripple or Neapolitan (for my husband). My son combines everything and tops with chocolate syrup or hot fudge. Hard to believe some people only eat ice cream in the summer…absurd!
I love your peanut butter cup flavor but I must add that even though I am from NYC, I can never find your seasonal flavers. I am from the city that never sleeps, the city that has everthing. Aparently we don’t have everything. We dont have the seasonal flavors
Hunh. I have to say, I’m a little disappointed, that Vanilla beat out all the other flavors by that much. Don’t get me wrong, Vanilla is great and all, but come on people! Life is short; live a little and EAT MORE FLAVORS! ;- )

We made a smoothie using the Mango Duetto earlier this year. Let me just say that I can’t wait until summertime to make them again. Ah what the heck, maybe I won’t wait until summer.
I’m a Chocoholic, but I like other flavors mixed in too. Things like the Chocolate Cherry Cordial flavor really ring my bell!
I have a family of four boys(5 including hubby). We all love cookie dough icecream but are also split down the middle between chocolate chip and plain vanilla. What fun I have going to the store and seeing that there is not cookie dough and having to make the selfish choice or think of the others in my family. They usually win and I buy a bottle of choc. syrup to go with the vanilla. Everyone ends up happy.
My favorite? Vanilla, because it goes so great with chocolate syrup… Second favorite? Vanilla fudge ripple!

“Apple Strudel” It was a cinnamon flavored ice cream (yum!) with an apple
swirl, which included little crunchies

Our family loves Butter Pecan and Lite Moose Tracks. Actually, as long as its Turkey Hill, all of the flavors are our favorite! Who would believe that a company named “turkey” would make the BEST ice cream!!!

Vanilla is my utmost favorite, but of course I love many other flavors as well. One fond memory I have of a favorite flavor is Butter Brickle. To this day, I still look in the freezers to see if maybe one day it will show up again.

We just crumbled up the not so pretty sugar cookies from our baking day into vanilla ice cream and it was delish.

My all time favorite is Eagles Touchdown Sundae but to be honest I eat ANY flavour. I usually buy a 1/2 gal. a day. They call me “the ice cream lady” at my local supermarket.

I’m not surprised that vanilla is a winner. When we buy ice cream (every week and twice on holidays) we buy one vanilla bean and one of something else (usually choco mint chip for my son, chocolate chip cookie dough for my daughter or black cherry for me, my husband is a purest and eats only vanilla). Turkey Hill is the best and only barnd we buy!

I always have a gallon or more of vanilla in the freezer to make milkshakes, cause a vanilla shake is my favorite. Anything other flavor usually get stuck in my straw.
My husband loves banana ice cream, but we can’t find any Turkey Hill banana, the closest is banana split.
when it comes to choosing flavors in my family it doesn’t really matter, we live right down the street from a turkey hill, and since they always are fully stocked, so is our freezer, its so hard to pick just one…there are all so sinfully Delicious!!

Turkey Hill ice cream is fantastic. I recently moved back to Pennsylvania and am so glad I can eat it again! I’m tempted to eat a dish of rocky road right now, and it’s still an hour to lunch time!

I could not possibly choose a favorite flavor, but I will say that ice cream w/lots of stuff in it is what I prefer. Whether it’s nuts, chunks of choccolate,pieces of candy,cookies or cake-ITS ALL GOOD!! Oh, and after looking over the Flavors of the Month that were listed in the poll, I must say that I will be on the lookout for the Peanut Butter Kandy Kake flavor come January.
Vanilla ice cream-yummy. Toast a nice big slab of marble pound cake, top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup. The best and easiest dessert ever.
The Mango Duet (Italian Ice with Soft Serve) was a big hit at my house!
my grandkids and i have held our own contest. ours is to see who can find the new monthlky ice cream first. mostly they win, because its two against one. loser buys !

I got my Turkey Hill calendar in the mail earlier in the week and I just love the coupons. They give me an opportunity to try some new stuff and save some money. I love the vanilla bean. My oldest son loves the Butter Pecan. We are hooked on Turkey Hill products!!!!

As for the scenario of sitting by a fireplace eating ice cream while the cat lies asleep nearby, that WOULD be a great dream. Here, it’s more like I am sitting here with that bowl of ice cream and the cat is on my shoulder, paw hijacking my spoon and redirecting it towards… HIMSELF. Repeatedly. Hey, can you blame him???

I lived across from a Turkey Hill growning up and i remember being snowed in one year (of course the workers were snowed in too) and literally sliding across the road to get the best GREEN mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Oh give me maple walnut ice crean with a gob of homemade hot fudge. Put somne fresh whipped cream and I’m in heaven!

Why is vanilla at the top? Not because it is people favorite, but because that is what many companies make and retailers sell. I have taken numerous surveys of individual preference, and chocolate always wins 2 to 1. But Mint Chocolate Chip, by Turkey Hill is my personal favorite.

I recently moved to Tennessee, from New Jersey. In NJ, I had the pleasure of eating Turkey Hill Ice Cream-whenever I wanted. I pretty much “favord”
Vanilla, Chocolate,Strawberry,Neapolitan,

French vanilla,Cookies and cream,Vanilla fudge ripple,Coffee,Rocky road,& Chocolate marshmallow. (I know…its hard to choose just one.) Well…I never realized just how much I loved Turkey Hill Ice Cream, until now. We cannot find Turkey Hill products anywhere. I’ve tried the local brands…they just don’t cut it! So, people..enjoy your Turkey Hill Ice Cream, while you can- you can’t get it everywhere! And you WILL miss it.
My husband’s favorite is Mint Chocolate Chip and mine is Butter Pecan. We buy 4 cartons at a time and buy four different flavors each time trying all and everything available at our local stores. We always keep a supply of Vanilla Bean in the house for sundaes and to top hot Apple Crisp with. Heaven!

Ever since I was young my favorite Turkey Hill ice cream flavor has been peanut butter ripple.
Wow, I have always heard that vanilla was the favorite ice cream flavor in the US but I certainly would not have guessed that it outperforms the runner up (my personal favorite) chocolate by more than three to one!

If you are looking for a new flavor, I have a good one: Strawberry ff yogurt. Edys used to make this and it was the best ff yogurt I’ve ever tasted. Sadly, they discontinued. If you take it up, I guarantee to buy a lot of it. Thank you

Vanilla is fine as a base for a sundae–it let’s the topping flavors shine through. But for a stand alone flavor, I prefer something with more impact and variety. If it contains chocolate in some form, all the better.

More than picking a flavor, it is more important that it be a QUALITY ice cream, like Turkey Hill. My favorite of all time was a Turkey Hill special, Double chocolate fudge or something like that… all I remember was that it was AWESOME!! My husband is a ‘vanilla’ person… a purist, so often we do buy vanilla.
Did anyone mention the chocolate peanut butter? Right now, my favorite is the Jets, basically the same as choc p.butter, with little choc p.butter footballs! YUM!

Mint Chocolate Chip is the favorite of my husband and two sons, and I like it, too. But my own personal favorite is a really rich chocolate. I’m really surprised it didn’t get a higher score in the survey!
Vanilla is the most useful flavor, because you can mix in other flavors. Fresh peach is one of my very favorites. It usually requires making my own ice cream, since most peach-flavored ice cream is just “flavored”, or has bits of what look like canned peaches. Commercial ice cream like Turkey Hill is terribly convenient, but it has to be formulated for mass production, consistant results, shipping and long-term storage. Homemade ice cream is nothing but what you put in it, eaten right out of the freezer you cranked it in. So, all-in-all, may favorite flavor of ice cream has to be anything that starts with the word “homemade.”

I havn’t seen it in a long time but the apple pie ice cream has been a long time favorite.
I have not had a glass of milk in over 40 years so when I was expecting my son I felt this was a problem. Vanilla Bean ice cream became a major source of calcium! It must have done the trick my 21 year old son is the joy of our life–and vanilla has always been his favorite ice cream.

My fave is Chocolate Marshmallow. I’m surprised it’s not higher than number 15. My other favorite from childhood is butter brickle. Almost impossible to find these days.
I’m an icereamaholic and eat icecream every day. 1 day during a snow storm I even made a special stop at Shoprite on the way home from work to pick up some Turkey Hill so I wouldn’t run out if I got snowed in!!!

Vanilla’s my favorite. You can do so much with it. Add blueberries or peanut butter. Strawberries added yum yum. Make a banana split. It’s the best to add any toppings.

My husband and I love the Turkey Hill Ice Cream because it is natural and fresh. My husband is hooked on the Duetto, vanilla and Raspberry. ‘Limited Edition’. Please don’t stop and make it a ‘Forever Edition’. I’m trying for the Trip for Two Italy trip as well.
I haven’t been able to find Peppermint Stick Egg Nog ice cream yet. Still scouring all the grocery stores in the area. It sound like it could be one of my favorites.

I am not, or was not, into peppermint until I found a carton of peppermint stick buried in the back of the freezer at the local Pathmark. It was a warm day in March and I felt like trying something different. As I dug through, I saw a large clump of ice in the far back on the bottom shelf. When I finally reached it, I was surprised to see a leftover from the holidays. That first scoop brought me back to the holidays in an instant. I now have one more to call a favorite!
I love all chocolate types of ice cream, but esp. fudge brownie, anything chocolate and caramel, and mint chocolate chip! Yummmy…wish I had some now!

I had this flavor a long time ago that was coconut ice cream with almonds in it…yum, yum.
While there are a ton of great flavors, my first love is chocolate. I try the others. I may even buy a half gallon of rocky road ice cream once in a while but I always come back to chocolate. You know there may be more people who favor vanilla, but chocolate lovers are the most loyal. When faced with a soft serve stand that only serves chocolate and vanilla and the chocolate is out, a chocolate lover will walk away.
I am surprised to see that butter pecan and praline pecan are a bit far apart. The same with vanilla and french vanilla. It seems as if the top 15 are for the most part mixtures of the basic vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors.

Wow! Vanilla is the top flavor? I can’t believe that. With all the wonderful things you can add to ice cream to make it scrumptious? Look at ALL the Turkey Hill choices!!!! Basic- vanilla! But plain and simple can be good sometimes as well I guess. I only want vanilla if it is on cake or brownies or mixed with some other things like Peanut Butter or somethign to make it special. I will take a year of turkey hill ice cream in any variety. Just think of all those weeks of trying new and exciting flavors. I could come back in a year and have a brand new favorite!!! why not have breakfast with turkey hill? my cereal, usually cornflakes or swiss muesli, mixes very well with vanilla icecream instead of milk. to top it off with fresh strawberry slices is heaven.

My family loves ice cream. I usually shop alone, but when I have my children with me at the grocery store, we end up spending way too long when trying to select only two flavors. But, no matter which they finally choose, everyone’s eats it.
My kids have converted to vanilla since they’ve learned they can add lots of tasty toppings. My favorite is still chocolate and its many variations.

I’m glad to see that there are a few others that love Coconut Creme Pie and as disappointed as I am that it has been moved to October. I’m praying that you have been considering making it a regular flavor. I must say that if anyone who read this and have not tried the Coconut Creme Pie that you make a point of doing so when it come out in October, I can guarantee that you will be absolutely thrilled that you did. In no way am I saying that all of the other flavors are not enjoyable but I am saying that none compare with the Coconut Creme Pie.

How can you pick a favorite … each Turkey Hill flavor is so creamy and delicious! I enjoy filling a huge coffee mug with Vanilla and top it with a snack size can of diced peaches. The peaches get creamy and the syrup turns into ice crystals. Pure heaven! Then I curl up on the couch, cradle that mug and enjoy!

We were so happy when Turkey Hill became available in the Pittsburgh area. My kids, growing up, were crazy about Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and I get sentimental every time I see it since my “baby” is 30 and the other two are 31 and 38. We like all flavors, but really enjoyed the Raspberry Duetto this past summer. We love trying the specialty flavors.

I remember when we had our Ice Cream Parlor a couple of years ago, Mint Chocolate Chip tied Vanilla for first place, then Chocolate. I was surprised to look at the final tally at year’s end, since I thought vanilla would have been first. We made an awful lot of shakes and floats with it, but Mint won out from all the cones and cups!

This is a really interesting list. If asked, I would have said chocolate was first. However, I have a preference for vanilla myself. I find it goes down much more easily. No acid reflux with vanilla. If I had to choose a flavor, I think that I would choose chocolate. As a child we were poor and when we got to have chocolate anything, I always thought I was like the “rich” people of the world. I love TH Coffee. It doesn’t disappear as quickly as the others, since it is not a favorite with my teenagers!!!

I was surprised to see Butter Pecan at number 3 (no one ever talks about it) and Rocky Road so far down (everyone talks about craving it) Personally, I love Vanilla. Cool, creamy and enough sweet. Yum!
Tin Roof Sundae is the best.
Chocolate Pretzel is the best flavor ever and I have to wait until October to get it again. I just have to make the sacrifice and supplement it with other Turkey Hill flavors throughout the rest of the year. It’s the least I can do!
Plain Vanilla is great if you have something to top it with, hot fudge or fruit toppings,, and I LOVE vanilla/cherry but my preference is anything with nuts in it! How can people pick a favorite when they’re all so good?
My family and I love your coffee, neapolitan, mango Duette, mint choc., I could go on and on. Your ice-cream is excellent. We all have our preferences but are not fussy and will eat them all..

Haven’t seen “White House” ice cream for along time. …..that’s vanilla ice cream with cherries throughout. I guess this is a hint.
Even though they seem worlds apart I like Lemon Duetto and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
The feature flavor I like is Southern Lemon Pie. Tastes like a frozen Lemon Meringue Pie. It is really hard to decide which flavor is best. I have three containers each one a different flavor in the freezer right now.

My husband has always loved plain vanilla – so much so that we tease him that he’s a “vanilla” personality – likes everything plain and simple. Me, I like ice cream with nuts, chips, swirls, and twirls of any type. Hmmm, I wonder what that says about me?

VANILLA ice cream is the best because you can make sundaes and top it with everything and anything!
*Linda- Fried ice cream is made with ice cream that is frozen well below the temperature that ice cream is usually kept, then it’s rolled in cornflakes or cookie crumbs and briefly deep frying. The extremely low temperature of the ice cream prevents it from melting while being fried. It’s really good!

My husband is on a fat free diet, so we LOVE all your fat free flavors, starting with Dutch Chocolate, Chocolate Cherry Cordial, Lemon Merange Pie, Mint Chip, Vanilla, ect. Sometimes it is difficult to find the fat free is some stores, but it is well worth the hunt.

My favorite flavor for the holidays is either a peppermint flavor and eggnog. Wouldn’t it be grat to have this flaor any time you have a craving for it. Have a safe and happy holiday to all. Be careful with the snowy weather we are expecting in upstate NY.

Ice cream is the most universal comfort food. It can be straight forward like vanilla or coffee, and it can be nutty and sticky at the same time. I love trying new flavors!
Just purchased my first duetto (soft serve vanilla & raspberry venice ice)LOVE AT FIRST TASTE. Now I need to try them all. You guys are just great.

My favorite flavor. Well!! I suppose Moose Tracks, no maybe Peanut Butter Swirl, no maybe Philadelphia Eagles flavors or just might be ALL Turkey Hill Ice Cream Flavors. Have not found any that I don’t just love.

I love anything chocolate, but can’t share with my dog. Lately I (WE) have been hooked on Cherry Vanilla, it is by far the creamiest.
Pumkin with caramel sauce looks good but very rich. My favorite is the chocolate peanut butter cup and it has been so hard to find. The cherry is another of my favorites. Yum!

Any Turkey Hill flavor is my favorite, of course. You can’t beat Turkey Hill’s quality….they put the best ingredients in their FINE ice creams! Yummo!!!!! I will stick to chocolate, though! Heh! Heh!
My husband loves the Butter Pecan. My favorite is Rocky Road. We sit, side by side, watching TV, spoons poised above our favorite serving dishes (the Turkey Hill containers!). Yes, we have no shame. We eat it right out of the carton! No muss, no fuss romance. IF there’s any left, it goes fight back into the freezer. And, OK, c’mon now!!! How much trouble is it to wash two spoons???

To my taste buds, vanilla ice cream is just plain boring! It ranks right up there with drinking a glass of white milk, which I do only when washing down a really chocolate-y brownie. I have two favorite ice cream flavors, the first of which is coffee, generously topped with Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Now that’s yummy!

While I love a wide variety of flavors, anything chocolate always heads my list. Chocolate Marshmallow, Mint Chip and Chocolate Chip are big favorites.

I’m somewhat surprise by the favorite flavors. I do love your vanilla however. My Pathmark just had a sale and actually allowed us to buy more than the usual limit of 2 ice creams. We purchased about 5-6 vanilla.

Looks like one of my favorite summer ice creams was chosen #1 in the poll. Peach ice cream in the summer made with fresh peaches can be beat. My husband and I also drove past the farm this summer. What a beautiful area of Lancaster County. We usually don’t get much farther in Lancaster County than Route 30 (The Rockvale Mall area). We love Lancaster County and spend quite a few days during the year out there.
I was not aware that turkey hill had a flavor of the month available. you can count me in I will start in jan. 2008 to see what my favorite is.I did try pineapple upside down cake, the cake is better than the ice cream, but that is my own personal oppion.

Everyone in the family loves mint chocolate chip as a refreshing end to a meal. Vanilla is always in our house as the flavor can be used with many things and the kids love to add all the toppings to make their own sundaes! I personally think the colombian coffee flavor has just the right amount of coffee taste and NOT too strong.

Turkey Hill ice cream never lasts in our freezer, no matter what flavor I get at the store. Everyone has a different opinion about which one is their favorite, mine is vanilla. I’m glad to see that the ice cream poll shows vanilla as the leading favorite flavor.
Anything Mint or Chocolatem
Chocolate Mint Chip is a must in our household. Even our dog goes crazy wanting a scoop. As soon as we open the container she comes running.
I’ve always favored Vanilla ice cream. My daughter likes Vanilla ice cream when I make her a milk shake, but she also loves Coffee ice cream, and my husband – the crazier, the better. We have ice cream in the freezer year round.

Since Turkey Hill was introduced to us at the Air Show in Pittsburgh, PA a few years ago with the cow display and samples, our family is hooked on the ice cream. We look for all flavors, but some favorites are the peanut butter, black raspberry and cherry duetto. All are yummy! That is the only brand we buy. Our freezer is stocked with many, many flavors. With 6 children, spouses and grandchildren, a mother who is 102, everyone likes something different. Our one daughter says we own part of the store because we have so many different flavors. Thank you for the calender and coupons you send us. It helps our budget.
Wish you were closer to where I live so I could work there!!! I’m an icecreamaholic and would not take a lunch break only an icecream break. I’d still need the same amount of time to get all the flavors in though!!!

I am designing a special stocking suitable for ice cream deliveries by Mr. S. Claus. since I have been exceptionally good this year, my bountiful bootie should include gallons of Moose Tracks, Cookies and Cream and Tin Roof. Quite honestly, I wouldn’t mind any flavor out of the Turkey Hill lot!
My mother is 80 years old and has me make her a malted milkshake each night. Her favorite is vanilla followed by butter pecan. It must be Turkey Hill!
Still snowed in and more on the way. I wanted to go to the store and buy some Peppermint Stick Egg Nog to use in my Chocolate Ice Cream Roll recipe but Turkey Hill Vanilla from my freezer will have to be the choice.
When I cant make up my mind what kind of Turkey Hill Ice Cream I want, I use the old stand by Choc,Van, and Strawberry. Got some of all!!!!

Love all the flavors that have all the goodie extras in them. I take two big scoops and put any flavor (what ever I have in the freezer) in a large glass and add some milk. Makes a terrific milkshake. MMMM Good
