I was told the recipe was copied from a dessert at Ben & Mildred's Chicken House Restaurant in Middleboro, Mass. It's an easy simply delicious recipe, so I will share. Bake a chocolate cake, let cool, crumble. Scoop vanilla ice cream balls, then roll ice cream ball in the chocolate cake crumbs, making sure to press the cake into the ice cream, so it won't fall off. Place cake covered ice cream balls in individual dishes. Pour Hersey's chocolate syrup over then cake encrusted ice cream balls, top with whipped cream, (my family always used homemade, though when I grew up, I made them with canned whipped cream) and then splash on top of whipped cream with a bit more chocolate syrup. I swear that last splash of syrup is very necessary, don't know why but it enhances the flavor. This dessert is out of this world delicious! Anyone who tries it, I say Ejoy!
