The website eHow.com offers how-to advice on just about everything. Want to figure out how to keep your feet warm in the winter? They’ve got you covered. Need help folding those pesky fitted sheets? There are a few tips on there about that too.

One of the best parts of the website is the wealth of ice cream-related how-to information. In fact, just typing “ice cream” into the site’s search field reveals 1,300 different results. Many of the articles are recipes, but some of the others are quite fun and interesting. For instance, you’ll learn everything you ever wanted to know about:

How to plan an ice cream social (We should all plan more ice cream socials)

How to eat an ice cream cone (it starts with a careful analysis of the cone and ice cream)

How to open an ice cream parlor (of course it starts with choosing the right location)

How to make a root beer float (there’s a good chance you already know how to do this)

How to get brain freeze (for those times when a splitting headache ismotorized-ice-cream-cone.jpg exactly what you need)

TODAY’S PRIZE: We’ll admit, today’s offering is a little quirky. It’s a battery-powered ice cream cone. Just load the removable inner cone with ice cream, push the button and the ice cream spins round and round. No more drips and, best of all, no need to do that whole “moving your wrist” thing to get to the other side of the cone. All we can say is, it’s about time!

  1. NELSON R.L. says:

Extra toppings make the ice cream taste better. The more the merrier!

  2. carolyn hebert says:

vanilla icecream with real maple syrup streaming down, topped with walnuts could be a nightly treat!

  3. Vivian says:

I like the the whole ice cream cone experience. The plain cone is good, cause in doesn’t interfer with the flavor of the ice cream. I usually get a double dip. One vanilla and the other coffee. Or two other flavors. Turkey Hill has much to choose. Could this battery powered cone handle a double dip??

  4. Brenda says:

My kids would love today’s offering. That is so funny.

  5. Ilena Ayala says:

For a fun time, put run down batteries in it and give it to someone, then watch as they stand with their tounge out and it spins really, reeally *slowly*. :) And have the camcorder standing by!

  6. Cathy Y. says:

This is the perfect desert for those who like to watch t.v. in bed and “have their ice cream, too”.

  7. tom m says:

The battery powered cone will definitely provide my son with a new ice cream experience. Should be interesting if he gives up his nightly bowl for the cone.

  8. tom m says:

Son loves ice cream & has it every night.

  9. I Preston says:

This is an awesome treat for the summer no more dripping down the arms, or dripping on the pillar while watching tv, wow.

  10. cj says:

A battery powered cone! Ha! A real novelty gift. Looks fun, but the last bite of the cone with the ice cream mushed down into it, is the best bite!

My son would enjoy this cone. It would be perfect for him, less mess, until he’s a little older and more dexterous with his ice cream!

I could use the tip on folding sheets for sure.

  11. Wayne Zarfos says:

What a great party gift for the little ones and the more mature parents. Where can I buy some??

  12. Jennifer Barr says:

I never would’ve dreamed something like this would’ve been made LOL
We’ve seen the lollipop ones so sure why not for ice cream cones ;)
My kids would be fighting over it if we were to win one. :)

  13. Janice says:

I like ice cream. Yes I do!
    One scoop for me?
    No! Make it two!
Hmmm two scoops of ice cream,
    I want more
    How about three?
    No, make that four!

  14. kim says:

Turkey Hill makes the best tasting ice cream products.

  16. Robert C Smith says:

God bless everyone, and technology !

  17. Beth Katz says:

The plastic won’t leak on the bottom, but ice cream melted into the cone is part of the ice cream cone experience. I prefer sugar cones, and sucking the ice cream through the bottom is part of the fun.

  18. Helen A. says:

Love your ice cream any way it’s presented.

  19. Barbara says:

Plastic ice cream cones – hmmm. Nothing beats the real thing, a cake cone oozing with Turkey Hill Chocolate Cherry Cordial yogurt which is slightly melted and dripping out of the point in the bottom on the cone ! No topping needed on this flavor, which is my all- time favorite.

  20. Chip Mueller says:

Does it work for both sugar cones and waffle cones? Waffle cones are my favorite.

  26. Maggie says:

Ha Ha! That is too funny! Afterall, one doesn’t want to get carpal tunnel from too much ice cream cone twisting!

  27. Louise says:

The battery powered Ice Cream cone seems awesome…….it is a wonder for young and old alike. No more turning and twisting your hand–arthritis suffers will adore it. No more soggy cones, parents will love it. However, what about those tongue burns that you will receive from the frosty cream spinnning high speeds. I guess you can say that this device will eliminate the brain freeze but what about the tongue freeze…….we’ll be seeing more people in emergency rooms with overused tongue syndrome and ice cream rash of the tongue (similar to road rash).

  28. Cathy Cook says:

While I would prefer a real cone, I could see my son having a blast with this one. I’m just wondering if I’ll have ice-cream all over the walls??
Thanks for a FUN contest !

  31. Caitlin says:

Haha the 8-step process to eating an ice cream cone. I wonder where today’s prize fits in for that process….?

  32. Dave B says:

But if I use that battery powered cone, how will I get my daily exercise so I can continue to justify my daily ice cream fettish?

This is a fun toy for any child.

  41. dht says:

What haven’t they put a battery in!

  42. Elaine Case says:

I must have sugar free ice cream because of diabetes. How about some additional flavors in “no sugar added”. The ones you have are great but more variety would be better. Thanks

Turkey Hill makes life more interesting!

  44. les dus says:

I think I prefer the sugar waffle cone ~ and twirling :)

  48. Bad-Air says:

    You can keep the Twirler!

I’ll eat straight from the box!!

  49. barry says:

battery-powered ice cream cone–can you say ‘lazy’ boys and girls? defeats the enjoyment experience of eating a cone! drips and all. what will they think of next? an automatic bowl and spoon, where the spoon scoops the ice cream and lifts it to your mouth? fine for a paraplegic or quad, but not for everyone. thus this battery-powered cone would also be best for the disabled. IMO.

  50. Christina M. says:

You guys find the best sites!! I think we should all have monthly ice cream socials with friends, the world would be much much happier! The battery-powered ice cream cone is a super cool idea!! 56. Melissa Johnson says:

It’s no fun if you can’t eat the cone, too…

  57. Amy K Gross says:

I don’t know about that one. Maybe for a gag gift, I think I’d rather see ice cream dripping down my 1 year olds hands and face. Don’t you think that makes ice cream more fun? Plus, you need some kind of a work out to use your hands for to burn off the calories. I don’t think we need something to spin it for us. I don’t know, maybe I read the article wrong. I am in the middle of picking up a million game pieces from my 1 and 2 year old as I’m on the ice cream blog page:). Amy

  58. pam says:

this would be perfect for my year old. there would be more in him than on his clothes and not to mention everything else

Root beer floats are my fav!

  68. lori and john says:

spinning ice cream…oh gosh, the kids will love it but will the momma? heck, i think licking the drips and catching them is more than half the fun of a cone.

  69. Denise says:

Wow, I wonder who gets paid to write directions on how to eat an ice cream cone….

  70. Grrraymoo says:

Cool idea, that spinning battery powered cone thingy. Does it come with an attachment to mount it to a person at tongue level? That way, both hands could be free to add more ice cream after the first scoop is licked down!!!

  71. Cyndee Rowe says:

Anybody who needs instructions on how to eat an ice cream cone should not be eating one in the first place!

  72. Mike says:

Haha the ice cream cone looks like fun!

that would be way cool especially when it is so hot outside that it melts before you even get in the first lick!

  78. Turkey Hill Team says:

  79. Turkey Hill JACKSON says:

FACT: Battey powered toys are fun.

FICTION: I own a battery powered toy.

  80. doug gelbert says:

Good info on opening an ice cream parlor. I always wanted to offer my services to an ice cream parlor owner to sit out front and eat ice cream. There is no better way to advertise ice cream than to see someone enjoying a Turkey Hill cone. Who can resist coming in to get one after seeing one?

“…On the 5th day of ice cream turkey hill gave to me 5 battery powered ice cream cones,4 ice cream magnets, 3 spaghetti ice cream makers, 2 cuisipro ice cream sanwich makers and the book “everybody loves ice cream”….”
Can ehow.com tell me were to find more fans of the coconut creme pie ice cream and get them to vote for it to be a full time flavor? C’mon peeps, if you liked that flavor let’s stand up and make our vote count!

  90. Janet Rule says:

I love eating ice cream in the middle of the night. The battery operated cone would be a great wat to keep it from getting all over my pj’s

  91. Sharon H. says:

It’s just not an ice cream cone if you can’t eat the cone, and it’s not
    Ice cream if it’s not

  130. Darcy F. says:

A little quirkie…??….bit of an understatement, however, in today’s ever increasingly high tech society, not a surprise. Like a few others noted, cone-lovers might be a little remiss with this invention. But, for those who toss the cone, I can see the attraction. What will they come up with next?? How about a spinning ice cream sundae dish?. Who hasn’t had the experience of their sundae melting over the back edge of the dish, streaming down the side of it making a messy pool on the table (not to mention a waste of ice cream!!).

  131. Jean says:

Guess what I got in the mail today? A Turkey Hill calendar!!! Happy New Year!

  138. Tara spring says:

what are they going to think up next. i think its a neat idea

The battery cone is interesting but no fun. I love the old sugar cones and to lick around the cone’s drippings. It also is tasty when you have to suck out the melted ice cream from the bottom when you get a cone with the point busted off. If there is fruit in the icecream it sometimes seals the hole

  151. JOAN A.B. says:

Although it would be great for dog owners.

  170. Wayne Zarfos says:

What is the best way to stop the Ice Cream Headache once it occurrs? I have tried breathing in and out to warm the roof of my mouth and thereby the sinus that is causing the pain. Sometimes it works. Any suggestions?

  171. Steve says:

    What a great idea.

  172. DebbieA says:

I just love the idea of a self-spin ice cream cone. Can’t wait to try it!!!

  173. Christine says:

I was thinking the same thing about the fact that what if the spinner starting going to fast- what would happen? You would probably get brain freeze!

  174. Martin Siegel says:

I do not need any fancy gadgets! I just need Turkey Holl ice cream. And One of my very favorites is peaches and cream, in a cone or in a dish, it’s delish!

  175. Mary Lou says:

Anything that allows me to eat ice cream twice as fast has my vote..yum :-)

  176. Joe Lane says:

Nice gadget, but it doesn’t take me that long to eat an ice cream cone that it would come in handy.

  177. Joe Lane says:

It doesn’t take me that long to eat an ice cream cone, but I like the gadget.

  178. Herb Luce says:

  179. lucy k. says:

I just read how to make a root beer float and I always used A&W for them. I will try Barqs now.

  180. Kimberly Schaeffer says:

The kids (old and young) would have a blast with that! No more twisting your wrist around to get around the cone. Plus it looks cool too. What fun! Just when I thought eating ice cream couldn’t get any better.

  181. Maureem Edwards says:

Just what is needed for the GRANDMOTHER who has everything she ever wanted. Husband, children, grandchildren, greatgrandchild, love, happiness, and ice cream.

  182. Fred Valentine says:

Unbelievable! I guess batteries are not included.

  183. Debbie F says:

What will they think of next?

  184. Randy G. says:

Great Products! I love Vanilla Bean flavor ice cream

  185. Cathy Delgado says:

Well, now I have seen everything!! Until tomorrow’s prize, that is!

  186. Cherry Ganie says:

Perfect. Have you every try and drive a car and have kids in the back seat with cones and as when that cone has to be passed up to the front, you want to be able to get to that drip fast without tipping your head to far to the right or to far tot he left. You can concentrate on driving and licking at the same time.

  187. Rolande says:

NO MATTER HOW, WHEN OR WHERE YOU EAT TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM, IT`S ALWAYS ….

    THE BEST ICE CREAM

  188. Dawn says:

That gadget would be great for my grandson who just can’t get the hang of turning his cone around fast enough. As for me, nothing but a real cone will do.
PS will 4 boys fight over one cone?

  189. Mike says:

It’s a neat concept, but eating the cone w/ the ice cream is my favorite part!

  190. Grace says:

Sounds good to me. I will hide it from my kids! I have ice cream at night when they are asleep often. Sometimes they see the ice cream scoop in the sink the next day and I get caught. I know too much can make you fat but if you have just a little a day it helps you stay thin!!Ice Cream Diet – TRY IT!

  191. Judy B says:

What a delightful idea! Idea for anyone but especially the smaller people. No matter how it is served, ice cream is the perfect treat anytime!

  192. Laura says:

    That was fun to read!

  193. Kathleen says:

Not for me; I love the crunch of the cone at the end of the ice cream!

  194. Charlotte Czwakiel says:

What a concept. I think it would be great but I have to say just eating Turkey Hill Ice cream anyway is the way I find my pleasure. It is the best product out there as far as my opinion is. I just had some Cherry. YUM, YUM

  195. kim says:

    happy holidays

  196. Kit White says:

WOW! What will they think of next?

  197. Stephan White says:

Its okay to be bloggin’ but I’d rather be eating Turkey Hill Ice cream.

  198. Darrell S. Bell says:

That’s a great invention, however; If I had a 1/2 gallon of Coconut Creme Pie all I need is the container and a table spoon. I know that sounds piggish but the flavor is absolutely delicious and no matter how much and how one eats it you just can’t get enough. Hat’s off for Coconut Creme Pie…..

  199. Michael says:

I have to say I dont mind just a plain cone. I like to have to lick all around the cone to get the dripping ice cream. I dont want any plastic gadget near my taste buds.

  200. Sherry alias moosetracks says:

My favorite “how to” is the one I use most often: “How to get not only my own ice cream cone, but also finish my son’s ice cream, too! If you need help on this one, let me know!

  201. christie says:

We would love the free year of ice cream also. I think half of my food budget goes to ice cream.

  202. Turkey Hill JACKSON says:

    FACT: Oath Prepaid…

    FICTION: Truth Denied…

    FACT: Turkey Hill Rules…

    FICTION: All toys need battteries…

  203. Elaine says:

Thanks for the info in the website… the one thing I’d like to add to the advice on how to make a rootbeer float is where it simply says “add vanilla icecream to a glass” … it’s not just any vanilla icecream that you need, it’s Turkey Hill Philadelphia style!

  204. Richard B. says:

To repeat what other s have said: the crispy waffle cone is one of life’s great delights. Battery powered or not, you can’t do without the cone!

  205. Michael S says:

Keep on making awesome ice cream!

  206. Sherry Brunt says:

New cone would love to try it although I admit I would miss the ice cream mustache and beard :- )

  207. JAN says:

I host an Ice Cream Social every year when the kids/grandkids get out of school. That way if they get sick from eating way too much ice cream, they can stay in bed the next day. We all look forward to stocking the freezer with all different kinds of Turkey Hill – I’m picky, I only like a few kinds but when I have the social, I get to try them all.

  208. Lorraine D. says:

I love the idea of the powered ice cream cone for kids! Ok,I think it is Ice Cream Time.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS

One of my favorite photos is of my niece eating an ice cream cone, with ice cream dripping down the side and her tongue out as far as it will go and a smile from ear to ear.

  210. Frank McGovern says:

    I’m quite underweight.
I really need a year’s supply of ice cream to compete in next year’s “BIGGEST GAINER’ competition to be seen of FOX TV!!!!!!!!!!

  211. Kathy says:

That sounds interesting, but my best childhood memories involve trying to eat a cone of ice cream without it dripping all over us.

  212. Clara S says:

I’m afraid this new prize would help me eat more ice cream. What am I saying, I don’t see why that would be a bad thing. Would really like to try it. Tell us where to buy one in case we ( I ) don’t win.

  213. Ron says:

The battery cone is a terrific idea but I don’t think anything could improve your great tasting “ICE CREAM”! It’s the best I ever had.

  214. Mary Lou says:

Would love to have this ice cream “cone” as I normally don’t like the cone. It takes up space that I can fill with ice cream – isn’t that the purpose? Of course, good waffle cones are an exception!

  215. Patrice says:

LOVE the great “how to’s” and can’t wait to try them over the “Holy”days! Thanks again and again!

    Blessings!

  216. Debbie L says:

Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho!
Just want to let you know
There was a cat on our back sill
With whom we shared our Turkey Hill!

  219. rhy says:

call me old fashioned but i think i still prefer a manually operated cone, it seems that the battery powered device would interfer with eating the cone. it would also prevent you from biting the bottom off the cone and sucking the ice cream out. besides the wrist and arm action should burn off enough calories to offset eating more ice cream.

  220. lee carr says:

Herb Luce I love your poem. I know the feeling about running out the day before. I hope you never run out again.
    and
as for a “how to eat an ice cream cone”, all I can say is, who cares if it drips and is messy, it still tastes good if it is Turkey Hill.

  221. Darlene Bruner says:

Battery operated ice cream cone – I would rather win the grand prize. When you have an ice vream cone – you should like around it and then bite off the end and let it run out the bottom. Old fashion way – let it be a little messy!

  222. Ryan N says:

    ice cream is the best!

  223. Frank says:

I love root beer floats (we call them black cows) and ice cream most any way is is offered. My life would be incomplete without ice cream and peanut butter, both together and separately.

  224. Craig Ingham says:

I can just imagine “Tim the Tool Man” gettinghold of a powered icecream cone. That cone would be so over powered it would melt the icecream just form the power source!

  225. scott greenfield says:

i’m hungry for ice cream, NOW.

  226. Carol Yemola says:

A battery powered ice cream cone! I thought I heard everything! Now this one is for the laziest person!

  227. DAN MURRAY says:

    WHATS NEXT, DIGITAL CONES?????
COM’ON FOLKS HALF THE FUN WHEN EATING AN ICE CREAM CONE IS TRYING NOT TO MISS ANY DRIPS!! IT’S NOT EASY AND TAKES A LOT OF [FUN PART] PRACTICE
JUST WATCH A TYKE TRY DURING A HOT SUMMER DAY,THEY INEVITABLY HAVE THE DRIPS COMING OFF THEIR ELBOWS.

  228. Debbie says:

    CONE POWER!!!

  229. Bob says:

    Very educational, indeed!

  230. CAROL TRANO says:

THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE PRETTY NEAT, I AM SURE THE KIDS WOULD ENJOY HAVING ONE……HAVE TO CHECK INTO GETTING THIS ITEM

  231. Donna Lichtenthal says:

My boys would love this ! Almost as much as they love Turkey Hill Cookies N Cream Ice Cream. LOL

  232. Joanie says:

Most think that the battery powered ice cream cone would be great for kids, but, the older kids (born in the 40′s and 50′s) have always been intrigued with things just slightly skewed or—twisted! We started off with sticks and balls made of olds socks and progressed to electric trains if we were lucky at Christmas. Who wouldn’t want a sock monkey and a battery powered ice cream cone?

  233. Debbie M. says:

Yes, the battery ice cream cone is the lazy way out for folks. We do need to get a little exercise, while enjoying all of our ice cream, so keep those wrists moving. :-) Would we be able to wash the battery cone?

  234. CAROL BOLSTER says:

TAKES ALL OF THE FUN OUT OF EATING AN ICE CREAM CONE

    MMMMMMMMM!!! “Coke” Floats!!!

The cow picture reminds me of the year that Chi-cow-go had cows all over the place. My wife and I went everywhere to get pictures of them. It was great fun!

  237. Steve D says:

Yea right, another thing to buy batteries for. I’ll take the good old fashion way. Love that ice cream cone or otherwise!

  238. Barry Kauffman says:

I think today’s prize should come with free ice cream – at least enough to eat until the batteries die.

  239. Maryann says:

Battery powered sounds cute. But I think it would be too quick for me. I like to savor my ice cream and eat it slowly. The longer it lasts the more satisfied I am!

  240. Norma says:

What agizmo. Ialready have an electric ice cream scoop which is marvelous, so this would be a great addition in my kitchen.

  241. Sue says:

The crazy things people think up, never ceases to amaze me! What’s even funnier, are the people who will buy these crazy inventions! lol I”ll just stick to my Turkey Hill ice cream in a reg. sugar cone!

  242. Sarah says:

I was looking around the website, and I was thinking, “How much does the person who invented all this stuff get paid?” That would be one interesting Career Day….

  243. Sarah says:

GOSH PEOPLE, STOP WRITING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS!!!
It’s incredibly annoying if THE WHOLE THING IS IN CAPITALS!!!!!!!!!!

  244. CruizninPa says:

This is great my 5yr old grandson would love this as much as me. It would be a Big fight over who would get to use it first!
