CHERRY TREES AND CHERRY DUETTO
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
Happy President’s Day! We’re not sure what the appropriate celebration is for President’s Day, but we suggest digging into a little Cherry Duetto while reading the story about a young George Washington chopping down his father’s prized cherry tree. Check out the original writing of the tale here.
It’s a great story about the value of honesty, even if some people doubt its authenticity (that’s irony at its best!). Feel free to read it aloud to your children or grandchildren, or just read it to yourself. But don’t read it aloud to yourself…unless you want to attract strange looks from people around you.
