ultimate-flavor-tournament-logo.jpgThis is it. The first annual Turkey Hill Ultimate Flavor Tournament. Once a year the power to crown one ice cream flavor as the “Ultimate Flavor” rests in the hands of the readers of the Ice Cream Journal. It’s a big responsibility, but we know you’re up for it.

Here’s how it works: Each week will feature a different series of match-ups, all voted on by you (see the polls on the right). We’ll start with 16 flavors (the “Sweet 16”) and narrow the field down every week until one flavor, as determined by your votes, is crowned the champion. Of course, there will also be prizes. At the end of the tournament, we’ll give away a free one month supply of ice cream to 10 commenters chosen at random and one lucky reader will receive a ONE YEAR supply of ice cream.

Each Monday, we’ll take a look back the previous week’s winners and losers and offer some predictions for the upcoming pairings, so feel free to check back often. And on that note, here’s an expert analysis from Ernie himself about this week’s “Sweet 16” match-ups. Take it away, Ern!

THE DUETTO MATCH-UP – Mango Duetto vs. Raspberry Duetto

“I can’t think of a better way to start the tournament than with this battle of two of our best new flavors. Either one could win here, but regardless of which one comes out on top, I expect the winner to make it into the Frosty Four and possibly make a run for the title.”

THE LIGHT MATCH-UP – Light Recipe Snyder’s Chocolate Pretzel vs. Light Recipe Moose Tracks

“This one is tough for me because ever since I’ve started my new weight loss plan I’ve really taken a liking to the entire Light Recipe line-up. I’m a big fan of both of these flavors, but based on the chocolate/peanut butter combination, I think Moose Tracks might have the edge here.”

THE MINT MATCH-UP – Light Recipe Skinny Minty vs. All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip

“A Light Recipe flavor going up against an All Natural flavor? This one should be interesting. Skinny Minty might be leaner, but that doesn’t mean it won’t fight hard for this win. It’ll be a good battle, but I expect Mint Chocolate Chip to come on out top in this one.”

THE YOGURT MATCH-UP – Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough vs. Raspberry Lemonade

“Even though they’re technically not ice cream, you can’t count out the frozen yogurt flavors in this tournament. These are two of our strongest yogurt contenders and I’m having a hard time picking a winner here. I might have to go back for a few more samples before making up my mind.”

THE SPORTS MATCH-UP – Eagles Touchdown Sundae vs. Phillies Graham Slam

“Is this a battle of flavors or a battle of sports? You’ve got football vs. baseball in a showdown of two of Philly’s most beloved sports teams. Since we’re coming up on the start of baseball season with the Phillies expected to make a strong run for the title, it looks like Graham Slam might be able to intercept this Touchdown pass and hit one out of the park for a win here.”

THE PEANUT BUTTER MATCH-UP – Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup vs. Peanut Butter Ripple

“Everyone knows I love peanut butter. Do I really have to pick a winner here? That’s like asking a Beatles fan what their favorite Beatles song is. They’re all great! If this one comes down to anything, it’s the fact that one flavor uses chocolate ice cream and the other uses vanilla. But even that doesn’t really narrow it down much!”

THE FRUIT MATCH-UP – Black Cherry vs. Black Raspberry

“Ahh, the fruit flavors. Some of the very first ice cream flavors ever created used fruit as a main ingredient. In Rome, they combined snow with fruit, which is technically more of a sorbet than an ice cream. But I digress. A winner here? I’m going with Black Cherry by a stem.”

THE BATTLE OF THE CLASSICS – Dutch Chocolate vs. Vanilla Bean

“This is the biggest battle of them all and I really think either one of these flavors could win this entire tournament. As for the winner here, it’s a coin toss. Ask me on Monday and I’ll say chocolate. On Tuesday, I’ll pick vanilla. Then on Wednesday, I’ll try both of them and call it a tie!”

  1. mary frey says:

    LOVE THE MACTCHS SO MUCH , WE SHARE THEM WITH PUPPIES. THEY MOO TOO FOR TURKEY HILL.THEY EVEN KNOW THE WORD TURKEY HILL.MEAN A BIG TREAT FOR THEM;;;

  2. Dean Smith says:

I’m spending more time on these picks vs my basketball picks

    GO HEELS

  3. Dean Smith says:

i’m spending more time on this vs my basketball picks

  4. Loretta says:

I can’t believe that on each one I chose what the majority of others picked!

  5. Stefanie Schmidt says:

Oh I am so excited about this contest, it is so tough to pick a winner, but I think the chocolate pretzel could go all the way! I really hope I win a prize too. Forget the March Madness, this is the contest to watch and taste!

  6. Jacqueline says:

Okay, the problem here is that I like them all!

  7. Linda Lamb says:

Picking was really difficult, since I just love ice-cream!

  8. Kathleen Briggs says:

This was interesting and fun. I was with the majority on all but one; I do LOVE Black Cherry!

  9. alicelynne says:

It’s close with the PB varieties!!

  10. susan says:

Turkey Hill is my favorite ice cream out there, no matter what the flavor! :)

  11. Linda Fredricksen says:

I LOVE all ice cream but must say my favorite is Eagles touchdown sundae, but maybe it’s peanut butter ripple,or maybe mint chocolate chip or black raspberry with peanut butter on top . . I have to go have some turkey hill. . .

  12. Christine says:

I am so happy that all my favorite flavors seem to be everyone else’s favorite flavors! :)

  13. Cinda F says:

Hey I also was 1 to pick all the majority flavors on the poll. I don’t think chocolate pretzel will win all the way. My son asked if the Phillies Graham Slam was still around as he had it for his birthday and he loves to follow the Phillies during the season. As far as vanilla and chocolate goes I usually always keep a vanilla along with other flavors in the house. You can add whatever you want to the vanilla to make new creations and its always good over pie or other fruit desserts.

  14. Mike Y says:

Rasberry of any kind. The best is a rasberry PB and J so it has to be Peanut Butter Ripple and Black Raspberry

  15. Turkey Hill Team says:

We’re glad you’re all excited about the Tournament. We are too. It looks like there’s already a couple first round upsets in the making!

  16. Karen says:

I haven’t voted yet but I can already tell I’m going to be struggling over many of the choices. I love ice cream and choosing one over another will be a challenge.

  17. Karen says:

I just finished my “picks”. Now I feel just like my husband with his fantasy leagues. I took this way too seriously.

  18. Lois says:

This contest is very hard. It should not put light up against regular. It depends if I want to be good and go light or splurge and go natural. Tough choices ’cause I love them all. Can’t wait to see if my choices come down to the final.

  19. Kimberly Schaeffer says:

With some of these it was really hard to choose. They are all so good.

  20. Lucy T says:

I love the vanilla bean, especially over a home made brownie

  21. Joyce says:

Hard to vote when I haven’t tried them all yet!!!

  22. Caroline says:

The ultimate flavor you had was the one I was unable to find last month in 5 different stores. It was your “Box of Chocolate” It sounded sooo good I drooled just reading about it

  23. Dan says:

Very intersting, maybe a description of the flavors would help in some of the matchups…and might make our mouths water too!

  24. Barbara F says:

Looks like all the ones that I picked are going to be winners. Looks like we all have good taste. For Turkey Hill Ice Cream of course. On too round 2.

  25. christie says:

How do you choose from such mouth watering flavors?

  26. Amy K Gross says:

Ok, I’m pregnant now, so there’s no holds barred. I told you all to eat frozen yogurt for the new year, but now options are limitless. I got one wrong in the voting. I’m going to give the top three. Vanilla, Mint Choc. Chip and Choc. Pretzel. Choc. Pretzel is my favorite, but I’m thinking it’s always Vanilla hands down.

  27. Dani says:

I somehow managed to pick ALL the current second-placers but one… I always knew I was averse to trends, but wow! At this rate I’ll have a hard time picking semi-finalists… :)

  28. Dani says:

P.S. It may not have made the top sixteen, but my ultimate favorite is still Baked Apple Dumpling!!!!

  29. Ken Schroeder says:

This first list does not do anything for me.Although I voted, most of them I have not tasted and really don’t care to.I’ll be ready when the real classic flavors come up for vote.No matter what flavor, Turkey Hill is still the best ice cream on the market!!!!!!!!!

  30. Peg Cramer says:

This was a fun idea. I love to “play” with my TH ice cream anyway.

  31. Frank says:

So many choices and not a loser among them.

  32. debbie f. says:

So many choices,,,I guess I’ll have to get started now and try all the flavors again so I can make my choices

  33. Helen G says:

I am sorry to say that my favorite flavor is not there. It is Peaches & Cream. Maybe it will be on next time.

  34. Jennifer says:

Thanks for the fun new contest! May the best flavor win!!!

  35. Christina M. says:

I want a bowl right now!!!!!!!!! Off to the store I go!!!! I did however go to tons of stores looking for that box of chocolates also, and I never ever found it… just like the German Chocolate cake that I’ve been waiting over a year to try. I love the polls though, it’s so much excitement. I vote for the Choc. Pretzel to win!!!!!!!!!! It’s just so scrumptious and also made in a light flavor, so you just can’t lose!! Have a great day everyone!!

  36. Maryann says:

Snyders Chocolate Pretzel is great, and the Mango Duetto. I have them together in the same dish, this way I have the best of both. Vanilla Bean is great with cream soda and dutch chocolate with root beer. WOW!! Thanks TH

  37. Kathy Lyons says:

Chocolate peanut butter cup all the way!
Wish I could have found Box of Chocolates – tried several stores but none of them had it. WHY????!!!!!

  38. Marion Manyak says:

You can’t miss with any Turkey Hill selection. At our house we love ice cream.

  39. Susan says:

    DUTCH CHOCOLATE FOREVER!!!!!

  40. Bethany says:

oooh, i hope your mint choc. chip wins! it i smy favrotie ever ever ever!

  41. Bethany says:

sorry for the mistyping. my computer is acting weird and i can’t see what i typed until i post it!!! (needless to say I am also not the best typist, so this is a big problem!!!)

  42. Joanne says:

As much as I love ice cream and peanuts, I dislike any kind of ice cream with peanuts or peanut butter in it. Walnuts, almonds pecans, pistachios are all fine, but not peanuts!

  43. linda says:

I happen to be in love with the Mango Duetto. The Lemon Duetto is great too. I could live on them. Not so much a raspberry fan.

  44. P-Nut Ripple says:

C’mon Peanut Butter Ripple is the best flavor! It has that delicious gooey peanut butter chunk at the bottom! I certainly hope it wins!

  45. Janet Smith says:

My personal very favorite Turkey Hill flavor isn’t being made anymore: Death by Chocolate. That might be a good thing, since I now go mostly for the light ice creams and yogurt for health reasons.

  46. Iris Hooke says:

Love your contest. Love the prizes even more!

  47. Linda Witherspoon says:

Nothing Feel Better Than Falling In Ice Cream Oh love

  48. lee carr says:

so many choices, so many good flavors, as good as one is, it is hard to eliminate another. I love mango and raspberry duetto but now I have tried the cherry and I may never go back to the other ones. eating cherry duetto is like eating a jar of maraschino cherry, it is like having a cherry on top of the sundae in every bit.

  49. Pat S says:

There are quite a few flavors listed above that we haven’t tried. But we will. Can’t find the Box of Chocolates flavor that was out at Valentine’s Day. Will Turkey Hill be making more?

  50. Pat says:

I love all Turkey Hill Ice Cream. How will I ever choose? Well, I’ll have to make a sacrifice and taste them all first to make my final decision :) .

  51. Dom says:

I like the Moose Tracks but I’m still lobbying for Black Forest Ice Cream. Won’t that be yummy.

  52. Susan says:

Must sample before voting next time just to be sure

  53. Margaret M says:

This was really hard and took a lot of consideration because it is hard to pick one over another if 2 of your favorites are together but as I sit here drooling, I made my choices!

  54. sharon says:

Turkey Hill any flavor is a treat. your ice cream is great!!

  55. Mike S. says:

The matchups, the excitement – anything can happen in March. Will Mint Chocolate Chip go all the way ?

  56. Greg says:

The Fruit Match-Up looks to be the tightest race since Affirmed and Alydar in the 1978 Kentucky Derby! Black raspberry has been my favorite flavor since I was a child, but black cherry is such a hot flavor that this contest could go down to the wire.

  57. Stephanie H says:

Sounds like a great tournament – - but why do we have to choose?? Anything Chocolate and Peanut Butter has got to be high on the list!

  58. Carol says:

Yes, this is so much fun!! Ice Cream Madness!! Love Turkey Hill!!

  59. Serena Hanson says:

This contest is a great idea, but how can you only name one flavor as the champion? There are so many wonderful flavors that you may have a 3 or 4 way tie for first place.

  60. Terry says:

I first was disappointed that my favorite, Coffee, didn’t make the match-up, but I was glad to see my second runner up, Black Cherry, did. I expect Black Cherry to come from behind and make it into the next round for sure!

  61. Karen says:

I checked back this morning after making my selections yesterday to see how my favorites were doing. It’s really a lot of fun. Congrats to whoever thought of this idea.

  62. Karen says:

I hope it’s ok that I voted on flavors I’ve never tried. I went to each flavor that I didn’t know much about and read the descriptions on the web site. I then selected the one I thought I’d like more.

  63. Karen says:

This contest is very difficult for me for a a real ice cream lover there are VERY few that I don’t LOVE.

  64. Eduardo says:

Light Recipe Moose Tracks all the way!!!
    Tastes great AND less filling!

  65. Barbara says:

OHHHH myyyy so many wonderful choices for the showdowns. I want them all to win! lol Neat concept on this one. A march madness for ice cream…who’d of thunk it? Why Turkey Hill,of course! Thanks for send ing out the heads-up about this one. I reluctantly (as I DO love them all) made my picks, and now I can’t wait to see the final results!

  66. Karen says:

A couple of my favorites as well as my husband and kids favorites didn’t make the list. I feel I should at least type them here to be fair. I’ve always loved the mint cookies and creme and my husband and son love the raspberry chocolate chunk. Thanks Turkey Hill for these amazing flavors.

  67. Robert W. says:

I love the raspberry duetto, mango duetto and raspberry lemonade frozen yogurt flavors. Vanilla bean is such a classic, as is the dutch chocolate. I will be surprised to see if any of my picks win as THE ULTIMATE FLAVOR, as I tend to pick the underdog flavors.

  68. Kimberly D says:

It was interesting to see how many of the flavors are so close – almost a dead even heat for some of the flavors.
My prediction is for plain old vanilla bean – it’s a classic adn you can’t beat the Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean flavor.

  69. Valerie says:

OVERALL WINNER would be chocolate peanut butter cup, as that is the absolute best ice cream ever. It beats out any other brand out there, including Ben and Jerrys!

  70. Charity says:

I like them all. But I really like the Peanutbutter cup. Good to see it doing so well. GOOOOO Chocolate Peanutbutter cup!!!!!!!!

  71. Tamara Eshleman says:

I voted for most of the winners. I love almost all ice cream flavors but I’m finding as I grow older than I absolutely adore a vanilla bean or French vanilla ice cream. Oh yeah…and anything with peanut butter cups….or nuts….oh where will it end????!!!!!

  72. Nate Johnson says:

I know that Raspberry Duetto is going to have an uphill climb but I’m getting behind it as my dark horse.

  73. Bruce says:

Among this week’s choices, I have favorites in 3 categories, and they’re easy choices. Moose Tracks in Light Recipes and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup are ones most agree on. But in the fruits, I got to go with Black Cherry. I love everything with cherries, and Raspberry is not a favorite of mine in anything. Plus, Turkey Hill’s Black Cherry has a great taste.

  74. Don Gaus says:

I didn’t see my favorite – Tin Roof Sundae.

  75. Anne says:

Yes, they must have chocolate,….. or vanilla, ……or lemon, ….or cherry…. Who am I kidding? They are all good!

  76. Pam Shonk says:

Welll, our family likes pretty much all of them! Ice cream breaks our budget every month but here it is considered one of the 5 food groups – essential to our daily intake! May the best flavor win – although here they all are the best!

  77. JT says:

I Love Turkey Hill ice cream!!!!!
had a hard time choosing. Snyders chocolate pretzel, Southern Lemon Pie, and the rasberry chocolate cup one are my favs!!!

  78. Claudia says:

I can’t wait to see how the polls turn out — I’m pulling for the chocolate pretzel and any light ice creams!!! :o )

  79. heidi says:

i love all turkey hill ice cream, it is hard to vote, but the best ones seem to be leading, choco-mint chip is the best, cant wait to vote on that

  80. Brett Krasnov says:

Phillies Graham Slam is my Phavorite Phull Phat T.H. Phlavor (along w/ my Phavorite Philly Sports Team) – if only you made it in a “Light Recipe” as well it would be my Phave overall!
Great idea for a contest guys, and I will be following this as much as the B-Ball.

  81. Mike says:

Hi all – Great contest. Our favorites didn’t make the list…Chocolate Marshmallow and CC cookie dough. Thank you Turkey Hill for making such great ice cream.

  82. Sean McC says:

Turkey Hill “home delivery” and “The Ultimate Tournament”…no reason to leave the house! ;-) How can Turkey Hill top this?

  83. mary frey says:

no fumble in this contest ,TURKEY HILL ALWAYS MAKES A GOAL ; WORLD WIDE, THE COWS ARE KICKIN BUTTS, ALL THE WAY TO BARN, SCORE MOO -100

  84. renee says:

What a nice change from the basketball brackets!!

  85. Maureem Edwards says:

We love them all as long as TURKEY HILL is in the house we can make it to see another day. May the foce be with you!

  86. Nicole Fragale says:

I do the weight watchers points system and each half cup serving of the no sugar added light recipe, vanilla bean / or the Chocolate is only 1 point , per delicious serving.. thanks so much Turkey hill

  87. Maureem Edwards says:

We love them all. As long as TURKEY HILL is in the house we can live to see another day. May the force be with you.

  88. Beth Katz says:

Black Cherry and the all-natural Mint Chocolate Chip are two of my favorites. I hope Black Cherry pulls ahead in the voting. I’d still love to see Death by Chocolate make a return. The Box of Chocolates was good, but the milk chocolate “wrapper” wasn’t as complementary as I had hoped. I’d probably try a vanilla wrapper next year.

  89. Linda H. says:

Love the match ups! I vote chocolate all the way. But what about a Commotions Match up? Love, Love, Love the Tasty Kake Chocolate Cup Cake!!!
That is the Champ as far as I’m concern! Of course I am a chocoholic! :o )

  90. Amy K Gross says:

Black Cherry was the only one I got wrong. It looks like it’s coming back to a neck and neck race. Amy

  91. Diana says:

I was disappointed that my all time favorite Tin Roof Sundae wasn’t on the list…but I am a very big fan of anything with black cherry, so I’ll be rooting for that one.

  92. Loretta Orbach says:

Hey, some of those delicious sounding flavors, are not even available in our supermarket. How come? Like box full of chocolates, huh?
I am so bummed I”m missing out on a Turkey Hill flavor. How about root beer Duetto. ummmmmm? Or even Lime Duetto for Summer? I’m a big Duetto fan, yummmmmmmm.

  93. Tony Ice says:

This is better than the current Elections going on; at least I know what to vote for here.
Ever since those two someones bumped into each other resulting in “you got chocolate in my peanut butter” and ” you got peanut butter on my chocolate” the nation has been hooked on the chocolate and peanut butter combination from candies to cookies, from pies to the best thing to widen your eyes, Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream WILL BE the all time Favorite, no doubts here. Now if you guys on the Hill would swirl some fudge in there, I would be in Paradise; flavors together made in heaven. Vote Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup!

  94. c. r. caputo says:

I love light moose tracks. Now that’s comfort foods.

  95. Glenda Steffee says:

    Roses are Red
    Violets are Blue
    I love Turkey Hill!
    HOW ABOUT YOU?

  96. Turkey Hill Team says:

We’re so happy to see so many new readers on the Ice Cream Journal. Welcome! We’re also glad to hear that everyone likes our Ultimate Flavor Tournament poll. Be sure to check back each week to vote for the new match-ups until ONE FLAVOR is named as the champion!

Also feel free to sign up to receive Ice Cream Journal entries emailed to you by entering your email address in the subscription box near the top of the blog.

  97. Jill Deming says:

Love all of the Duettos. Would love to see a pineapple or lime.

  98. PJ says:

OH MY GOSH what a wonderful idea!! It was very interesting to see the results of the different types of ice cream. It was hard to pick one because all the favors are wonderful however, my favorite would be Moose Tracks!!!!! Keep up the great work on the ice creams and this years calendar!!! The calendar was wonderful and had a lot of GREAT recipes!!!!!
Thanks for all you do for the consumer.

  99. Nicole M says:

My whole family really enjoys the Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream as well as the new Duettos (especially the cherry).

  100. ELisa Miller says:

Light Chocolate Pretzel is STILL my favorite… not matter what people vote!

  101. Ron Cori says:

Hey, I live in Virginia and we are Turkey-Hill deprived here on many of these flavors. HELP!!!

  102. Gail Hickey says:

I have not had cherry vanilla ice cream in years! Now I’m going to have to go look for it.

  103. rebecca says:

I love all of their ice creams, but Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup has got to be my favorite!

  104. Lynn Dobriko says:

Rasberry Lemonade Frozen Yogurt–I can think of some great ways to serve it as a great summer treat. Smoothies, as a base for fruit sundaes, frozen yogurt pie–Yum Yum. It will look fancy and be easy to fix.

  105. Gail Hickey says:

As I voted, I realized that I have not had cherry vanilla ice cream in years. Now I am going to have to go buy some.

  106. Robin Ames says:

There are lots of Turkey Hill flavors I enjoy, but I have to say the Duetto product RULES! Just tried the chocolate soft-serve/coconut ice combo… it is yummy! The vanilla soft-serve/lemon ice flavor is also excellent. Thanks Turkey Hill!!

  107. Robin Ames says:

I enjoy many Turkey Hill ice cream flavors, but I have to say that the Duetto product RULES! Just tried the chocolate soft-serve/coconut ice combo and it’s amazing! I also love the vanilla soft-serve/lemon ice duo. Yummy! Keep it up Turkey Hill!

  108. catherine says:

Great idea for a contest! It’s hard to choose a favorite without a taste test.

  109. Debbie says:

We love Turkey Hill products at our house. Just wish they made a Grape Nut flavor. There’s only one co. that makes it and they charge $5/half gallon.

  110. Mark Carbone says:

    Here we go:
Mango Duetto because we all have heard what mango does for our ‘senses’.

Chocolate Pretzel simply for the reason of beign on the light side right?

Mint Chocolate Chip because we don’t need any skinny with our mint.

Raseberry Lemonade wins here because its suppose to be like eating yogurt. Mmmm

Philly Graham Slam because you’ll never see me eating a cheesesteak.

Vanilla Bean – ahhh the simplicity of a classic.

Black Cherry wins – ever have a hot fruit sause of this stuff? Awesome.

PB Ripple for all the pbutter flavor – without the interference of chocolate.

    Yes indeed!!

  111. XQQQSMEDARIAN says:

I like the duetto’s what would be nice if you would make a rootbeer float flavor that would be the ultimate. i think that would be very popular.

  112. Bonnie Traher says:

I have a really hard time choosing a flavor when chocolate is involved. Turkey Hill has such a variety.

  113. Justin says:

What a great idea. The only thing would be to have a half and half battle of the icream flavor, two in the same package. Then you could extend the battle to house holds as well as whole neighbor hoods. If you need more ideas I am for hire. Keep up the good work.

  114. randall gabrielan says:

Chocolate lovers demand the strongest candidate, not the mild Dutch variety, but a dark chocolate with chocolate syrup and chocolate chunks. Unbeatable, on the plate or in the tournament!

  115. Judy says:

I love Chocolate Peanut Butter. Always have, always will!

  116. JAN says:

It was hard to choose, cause I love them all. Haven’t found the duetto in my store, but figured I would like the rasberry over the mango. I don’t like Chocolate in my peanut butter (cause it makes my face breakout) but I don’t envy you trying to pick a winner. It’s going to be very close. Keep up the good work, and send more ice cream to my store. thanks

  117. Becky says:

You have to find Raspberry Duetto. It is delicious. I also chose Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup as I also love that flavor combination.

  118. Norma says:

Chocolate versus vanilla is a no brainer for me. CHOCLOATE RULES!!!!

  119. Anne says:

I know the Phillies are going to have a great season, but as far as ice cream goes, Eagles Touchdown Sunday Rules! Maybe you should come up with a Basketball flavor.

  120. Darlene says:

I love Turkey Hill’s ice cream. My favorite flavor is coffee, which didn’t make the Sweet 16. How were the Sweet 16 picked?

  121. Chris Corr says:

    Yummy in my tummy!
Love your variety of ice cream flavors especially the Duetto.

  122. Velma Greene says:

What a clever idea. But why am I surprised. This is Turkey Hill!!!! I loved MANGO!

  123. Juanita says:

Love most of the flavors but can’t wait for football season so we can get Eagles touchdown sundae. It’s the greatest. Also love Butter Pecan. It is so loaded with peacans and the Black Cherry. Oh just can’t make up my mind they are all so great.

  124. Jennifer Barr says:

    yummy! :)

  125. cindym says:

My family’s personal favorite is the Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Hope it wins!

  126. Eileen Negron says:

    Eagles v. Phillie Graham Slam

Well, I enjoy both of these flavors and while I am a big peanut butter fan, I have to admit that I like the Phillie Graham Slam best of the two. Those tiny mallowmars (sp?) in the mix make for an especially nice chewy treat to the graham cracker swirl!

The Eagles ice cream came into my world afterward when I could no longer find the Phillie Graham Slam and I have to say that there is not one flavor that I have tried of Turkey Hill’s icecream that I find displeasing.

    Rock on Turkey Hill!

  127. Brady says:

I basically had to choose by using flipping a coin………they are soooo good.

  128. Brady says:

I basically had to choose by flipping a coin……….they are sooooo good.

  129. Brady says:

I basically had to choose by flipping a coin….. they are soooooo good.

  130. Jenn Fowler says:

Turkey Hill Ice Cream – nothing could be better in life. For my hubby – Raspberry Duetto and Mint Choc. Chip are his favs. My kids love the ‘swirly whirly’ (fudge ripple) flavor the best. As for me, give me choc. and pb! gotta love it!

  131. Pat says:

They’re all winners in my book.

  132. Denise says:

This is so much better than the basketball tournamanet!

  133. Sylvia says:

I absolutely love the mint choc chip ! But when my store carries the light version–it’s even better since it tastes same but less fattening !!

  134. MTC says:

I’d like to see a match up of Light Moosetracks with Light Chocolate Nutty Moosetracks. For me, chocolate wins hands down.

  135. Laura Garmendia says:

Once we finish up the ice cream we already have, I will be trying all of your light versions. I am now on a low carb diet and I’m trying to be very careful I hope you will come up with some low-carb desserts soon!

  136. Leslie Carcaise says:

Can I be a taste tester, please, pretty please!!!!!

  137. Judy says:

Wow what a awesome idea to have home delivery for those of us that miss you in California. Now if only I can talk my hubby into ordering some of my coveted Chocolate Marshmallow. Thank you for coming up with this idea. I know it will be successful.

  138. Jennie C. says:

Do you have black raspberry and chocolate chip, that’s a match made in heaven!

  139. Elena says:

All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip by Turkey Hill is the ONLY mint chip ice cream I will eat – none other compares!

  140. Peg says:

    Anything chocolate is the best!!

  141. Jan says:

I like other flavors but buy vanilla bean more often because I can do so much with it.

  142. Robert Whack Sr says:

My pick is peanut butter witch my grandson love to.

  143. nancy millard says:

The chocolate and pretzel light ice cream is great they could not have chosen a better pretzel for this one!! LOVEING IT!!

  144. Becca says:

My life began when I discovered Duettos. All are incredible, but Cherry is divine.

  145. Lisa says:

I love the flavors and feel bad that one has to be eliminated.

  146. Judi Razee says:

I would Vote for Mint Chocolate Chip because Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, it is a seasonable,”mint”phatically wonderful, “hit the spot” dessert.

  147. Jeannette says:

Love the mango duetto but in my house, vanilla is always a winner! It’s so versatile and a classic.

  148. Linda Melvin says:

Turkey Hill is my favorite ice cream because it seems to have endless flavors to chose from and alot of them taste great!

  149. Kevin Brubaker says:

these are some good matchups hard to choose on some of these but this was fun picking out the different flavors.

  150. Ryan Hill says:

Skinny Minty hands down! I love the cookie ripple in there!

  151. R. Frazer says:

I don’t see any flavor that can beat Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream.

  152. R. Frazer says:

Dean: Heels look tough, even though they wear the wrong shade of BLUE.

  153. Isa Betancourt says:

Mint Chocolate Chip is definately my favorite type of ice cream. I especially love Turkey Hill’s mint chocolate chip because the chocolate is not hard and chunky but light, flakes

  154. Isa Betancourt says:

Moose Tracks is my second favorite, – Its just such a great mixture of chocolate, peanut butter, and carmel.
    – It seems so hard to pick just one flavor…! :P
    - yum -
    :D
    (p.s. I love ice cream!)

  155. john paul says:

I just voted and was thrilled to see the peanut butter entries on the ballot. I, too, found it hard to pick which was my favorite because I have so many! Ice cream is my weakness and Turkey Hill is the BEST!!!

  156. Barbara says:

My son and daughter can be heard down the street at dessert time yelling, “Skinty Minty, Skinty Minty”. They are 2 and 4 and cannot pronounce it correctly, but I sure do know what they’re calling for!

  157. Daniel says:

Turkey Hill Ice Cream is the best! I especially love the following flavors and ingredients: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint, peanut butter, any kind of nuts, cookie dough, pretzels, marshmallow, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, raisins, fruit flavors, fruit bits . . . Should I go on?

  158. Kim Deitzler says:

I just returned from a week in Haiti. We walked to an ice cream shop as I was going thru withdrawal from ice cream. I asked for peanut butter and I am a “peanut butter aholic”. I was so disappointed because I got coconut instead. I tried a second time for chocolate and got coffee. I am thankful for a safe trip home and a delicious bowl of peanut butter ripple w/ hot fudge topping. Great contest!

  159. Mike says:

Nice matchups. I havent tried all of them, but have sampled many.
Maybe some flavors I suggested will someday be added. & a mix is always possible, like the Duetto, mix 2 flavors of ice cream

  160. Maureen says:

How can you expect anyone to choose? OK if I must I choose Black Raspberry. It is the best!

  161. Sheila says:

Go Mango Duetto! I think the duettos are a great addition to the Turkey Hill ice cream lineup.

  162. Yvonne Learn says:

There are two favorite flavors at our house – chocolate and peanut butter. Of course I voted for chocolate peanut butter cup….but then, Black Cherry is so smooth and fruity, and Skinny Minty is so refreshing, and Vanilla Bean is so…vanilla! Come to think of it, I can’t find any I don’t like.

  163. Yvonne Learn says:

How can we pick a favorite? We love them all!

  164. Dorothy Lower says:

I love the light icecream that you make. It makes possible to have your icecream and eat it too. And still stay slim. Dorothy

  165. Linda says:

Out of the catagories, I would have to vote for Dutch Chocolate…but in our house and with our relatives the #1 brand for any flavor is Turkey Hill

  166. Debbie says:

We all know that the best ice cream Turkey Hill makes is Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. I have friends who have moved from the area, that come home just to eat that ice cream flavor. It’s a stand-out that is unmatched!

  167. Lori S says:

Simple is always better – vanilla bean, chocolate. But sometimes, a concoction is good too!

  168. Susan Curran says:

no fair! now i have to go out and buy all the flavors to be able to give a truly objective opinion-oh well-one must suffer for the truth-LOL

  169. Jenn H says:

I have to pick a flavor?!?? Kind of unfair, don’t you think? Now I’m off to have some Turkey Hill ice cream! lol I know we always have Vanilla Bean in the freezer!

  170. Ash C says:

These flavors are all good and all… but my absolute favorite Turkey Hill ice cream flavor is the peanut butter kandy kake ice cream!!! Yummmmmmmy!!! Choc. Mint Chip is pretty good as well!

  171. foaxs04 says:

The Raspberry Duetto is my absolute favorite for the win!!

  172. Darcy F. says:

Light Recipe Skinny Minty is one of my all-time favorites. It is so delicious and filled with a trove of Keebler Grasshopper cookies–it’s not even like cookie “pieces”–there are nice chunks in there!! You can hardly even believe it a light recipe it’s so delicious and chock full of cookies…Yum-Yum-Yummy-Yum-Yum!!!!

  173. foaxs04 says:

Raspberry Duetto is my absolute favorite for the win!

  174. Elaine says:

We each have our own favorites in our home. My husband loves Moose Tracks light….My children love Party Cake…and I love, unfortunately, almost all of them!!! Oh well, so much for a diet ;)

  175. Yvonne Learn says:

Chocolate peanut butter is the best!

  176. Jay Tice says:

Dutch Chocolate–chocolate the only way to go.

  177. Ann Babenco says:

Moose Tracks…yep, and they match my decor perfectly!

  178. Sue says:

The world has vanilla people and chocolate people, but even my husband, who is a chocolate person, says that Turkey Hill’s All Natural Vanilla Bean is the best vanilla. Not to put down Dutch Chocolate, but the All Natural Vanilla (not the Premium — sorry guys, doesn’t compare) can go head to head with all those frou-frou, high-priced ice creams and come out on top. The Dutch Chocolate isn’t a match.

  179. Sandy La Duc says:

These match ups are wonderful! I am not sure if I can pick a “favorite” as there hasn’t been one variety of Turkey Hill that I haven’t absolutely loved. Maybe because I always liked creamcicles as a kid, I am drawn to the
“duetto” group, and if I had to pick a favorite now that would be it. In any case….”Go Turkey Hill!!!”

  180. Cathy Corrigan says:

Love the Vanilla Bean–can always top it to make different combos!!!!!!

  181. Sue Kurtz says:

I consider myself somewhat an ice cream connisseur. I once had 19 half gallons in my freezer! I love Turkey Hill products and have been trying to stick with many of the lighter varieties,(although chocolate peanut butter cup is to die for!!!) I LOVE the chocolate moose tracks (light) and I just got Nutty Caribou Caramel that I can’t wait to try. The contest is great. I look forward to picking my favs each week!

  182. A OK says:

Love, love, love Turkey Hill Ice Cream! I moved to the west coast and missed Turkey Hill ice cream terribly. There’s nothing like it. Now I’m back and loving my turkey hill. I can’t pick a favorite flavor cause I love ‘em all.
    Thanks Turkey Hill!

  183. Jackie D says:

If I enter the contest, does this mean I MUST taste all the flavors ?????????
What a nice problem to have!!!!!
    Jackie D

  184. Jessica Harding says:

The Raspberry Lemonade frozen yogurt sounds amazing!

  185. Mike M says:

Tough match ups, but after eating gallons of Eagles Touchdown that will be my favorite to win!!

  186. Linda F says:

I love Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Thanks for the fun contest. I’ll come back tomorrow to make my picks.

  187. Linda F says:

I love Turkey Hill ice cream. Thanks for the fun contest. I’m going to make my picks tomorrow.

  188. CJ Eaton says:

Our doggies vote for Vanilla Bean (they can’t eat chocolate). They dance and prance as soon as we go to the freezer. They know it’s ice cream time.

We love all of the Turkey Hill flavors. The lite flavors are the best on the market.

    Thank you, Turkey Hill!

  189. Bob Kessler Jr says:

Chocolate seems to reign in this contest. But you can do so many things with Vanilla Bean – the variety of toppings are numerous. Even chocoholics can top their Vanilla Bean with chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, chocolate sprinkles and even crushed up chocolate chip cookies.

  190. Ann Ross says:

Vanilla bean is beating out chocolate? We gotta do something about this!

  191. Mandy Kroft says:

My husband is very picky when it comes to ice cream. Turkey hill Vanilla is his favorite. I tell him he is boring. He does not know what he is missing, all those other great flavors.

  192. Duncan M. says:

Newly addicted to chocolate pretzel. Good stuff.

  193. B. Kaneko says:

It was very hard to vote as every flavor sounded…simply…YUM!

  194. Brenda says:

i don’t like the vanilla bean “specks” in vanilla bean ice cream no matter who’s it is.but…….thankfully,Turkey Hill has French Vanilla which is awesome,of course.no other vanilla flavor of any other brand tastes nearly as good.

  195. Ethel says:

I think that the black cherry and vanilla bean are the greatest. The black cherry is always fill with sooooo many cherries. Every bite you get a cherry. Love it, love it.

  196. Denise Carr says:

A sunny sunday afternoon, a Phillies game on the tv and a bowl of Graham Slam-Life is Good!

  197. Denise Carr says:

A sunny Sunday afternoon, a Phillies game on the tv and a bowl of Graham Slam–Life Is Good!

  198. Turkey Hill Team says:

Welcome to all of our new readers! It’s always nice to meet fellow ice cream lovers. Feel free to check back often for new Ice Cream Journal posts.

  199. Chris says:

Duetto is the greatest idea in ice cream. Raspberry is my favorite.

  200. Denise says:

They should have put the root beer duetto up here, that’s actually one of my favorites now!

  201. Jennifer Ledford says:

We take our ice cream seriously in our house. From making old fashioned chocolate sodas, to trying new flavors, we love it all. Although the choc. coconut Duetto wasn’t a kid favorite, my husband liked it as a lighter alternative. I wish the stores in our area carried all these great new flavors!

  202. Vickie Storey says:

I love the many flavors of Turkey Hill and it is always fun to try all the flavors trouble is my freezer isn’t big enough to keep them all on hand!

  203. Susan says:

I love, love, love ice cream. I’m totally addicted!!! Turkey Hill is my all-time favorite brand. My vote is for the Philly’s Graham Slam…when the supermarket has this, I’m a happy ice cream lover!!!

  204. Sharon Bartolotta says:

I didn’t know you had Eagles and Phillies flavors. Why don’t you give some love to the Pittsburgh area – we would like a Steelers flavor! I’m sure it would beat the Eagles in a matchup!!

  205. Chad Carr says:

When I was growing up, my grandfather would eat a heaping bowl of chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream almost every single night. I have fond memories of playing cards and eating ice cream with him. I’ve inherited his love for peanut butter cup ice cream, and will be cheering it on in the tournament!

  206. Kelly Flowers says:

My family will only eat Turkey Hill ice cream, if it is not Turkey Hill than it is still at the store. The only ice cream you will find in my freezer is Turkey Hill. We love all of the flavors but for me personally I love the Chocalate peanut butter filled pretzels, yum yum!

  207. Barbie says:

Turkey Hill Ice Cream is awesome. I love the duetto’s. Also I am with the other blogger who votes for a Pittsburgh Steeler flavor.

  208. Barbie says:

The duettos are my favorites other than the vanilla bean. I am with the other blogger who wants a Pittsburgh Steeler flavor.

  209. Karen says:

I’m back again checking how my picks are doing. I believe I can vote again but that doesn’t seem fair. I’ll wait until next week after the field has been narrowed down.

  210. Karen says:

Of course I can’t read all the blog entries but pick a few and it’s really interesting to see how many people participate.

  211. Michele says:

The All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip is the best mint ice cream I have ever had. Very fresh flavor. Of course, I love all of Turkey Hill’s all natural flavors. They are the only ice cream I buy.

  212. Howard Kruger says:

It so hard to chose between flavors, but moose track and pb ripple are our house consistent winners.

  213. Thomas says:

    Should’ve started with 32 or maybe 64!

  214. Linda V says:

I love Turkey Hill ice cream. It is impossible for me to choose a favorite as it depends on which I am in the mood for. The way I voted today might not be the way I’d vote tomorrow. One thing I can tell you is I buy Turkey Hill ice cream every week and have tried almost every flavor. The lite versions are excellent and other brands of lite do not even compare!

  215. Beverly Balser says:

This tournament’s results are going to be very interesting. Our favorites are Mint Chocolate Chip and Dutch Chocolate, although we do love Butter Pecan too. It’s a tough decision to make as they’re all great.

  216. Laurie Kovacs says:

All of the delicious flavors. My mouth was watering as I was voting. I love the Duetto’s. I have to stop typing so I can get a bowl. Thanks Turkey Hill!

  217. SCott says:

Let’s get ready to rumble!! There should be a betting line on these..

  218. Scott says:

Let’s get ready to grumble! There should be a betting line of these flavors..

  219. Pam says:

We love German Chocolate the best of all. I agree–we need a flavor for the Pittsburgh area.

  220. Jeanne says:

    OK you win!!!
I give up trying to decide which is the
best–can’t I pick more than one and have the best of both worlds–yummmm.
Just finished up the chocolate, butter almond, vanilla box–it is great as I am not a strawberry lover. Now, the decision is which flavor will be next on my shopping list.

  221. Michele says:

Jeanne, I’m jealous. My store doesn’t have the chocolate/butter almond/vamilla ice cream, and I have been dying to try it. I do like strawberry, but butter almond is a nice change.

  222. Bob Orr says:

Awsome pairings. There are definitely a few Cinderella flavors lurking that could prove to be big upsets. Watch out for that Raspberry Lemonade Frozen Yogurt – it will surprise you, Baby!

  223. Virginia Levin says:

the heck with “skinny” Give me the fulsome rich chocolate mint chip.

  224. Kelly D says:

OOOHH never had peaches and cream, or th box of chocolates, must see if my store has them. Habe a quick combo for the kids, or the kid in us adults, Raspberry Duetto blended with Hawaiian Punch!! Makes a great cool shake!!

  225. Paula says:

The mint chocolate chip was the favorite ice crean for month of March because it was green to celebrate the green of Ireland and had chocolate chips to make it a sundae topped with whipped cream and a cherry. What a treat for a great occasion. Add a scoop of vanilla with a drizzel of carmel and the combination will please everyone at the party.

  226. CW says:

    VANILLA BEAN….ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!

  227. Rachel Zaitz says:

If you haven’t tried Pineapple Upside Down Cake you are missing out. I was skeptical when a household member purchased this flavor, but now it is my favorite flavor of all time. It has even surpassed timeless vanilla, indulgent peanut butter cup, and refreshing mint choc chip! A perfect mixture of pineapple goodness and soft & sweet crust.

  228. Mary Rieves says:

I just love cookie dough!! I also love any kind of ice cream with chocolate chunks!! MMMM

  229. Joseph Keiserman says:

I got every vote right excepy for the last vote. I think all of these flavors are amazing and we shouldn’t be voting on the best one becuase every single Turkey Hill ice cream is to die for.
