Remember drive-in movies? There used to be thousands of drive-in theaters across America, but now there are only a few hundred scattered throughout the land. It’s a shame because they’re so much fun. For many of us, they’re a reminder of simpler times, when we were younger and much more carefree.
That’s part of the reason why Turkey Hill Dairy has sponsored a giant portable drive-in movie screen which will travel around central Pennsylvania, bringing the drive-in movie experience to thousands of people this summer. The inflatable screen will be called the “Turkey Hill Screen” and stands 40 feet high! That’s a picture of it on the right. Those two little things standing at the bottom are people!
Below is a listing of locations and dates when the Turkey Hill Screen will be up-and-running (beginning at dusk every Friday and Saturday through August). Best of all, admission is FREE, but they are accepting donations. If you’re in the area, we hope you can make it.
Shank Park, Bull Frog Valley Road, Hershey: June 6, 7; July 11, 12; Aug. 8, 9.
Hershey Conewago Campground, 1590 Hershey Road, Elizabethtown: June 13, 14, 27, 28; July 25, 26; Aug. 15, 16.
Friendship Community Church, 3380 Fox Run Road, Dover: June 20, 21; Aug. 29, 30.
Meadows Park, Hanshue Road, Hershey: July 18, 19.
Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay Road, Ephrata: Aug. 22, 23.
More information about the Turkey Hill Screen and schedule can be found on the USA Theaters website. The movie on June 6 and 7 was the animated treat, Madagascar. We’re not sure which other movies might be showing throughout the summer, but we’ll keep you posted!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
What a great way to enjoy a movie and Turkey Hill. Too bad you aren’t doing it in Vegas, I would be first in line!
Wow,, what nicer way to spend an evening, than at a drive-in movie with the family. Only thing that could make it nicer would be a stand selling Turkey Hill ice creams!

There is no other treat that could celebrate a special occasion or event than Turkey Hill Ice Cream. It is this pride of the party, the topping to a great meal, and the perfect way to end the day.
Wasting away in Springfield, PA-
Sipping my last Turkey Hill shake-
Blew off my flip flops–dashed for the counter top, Knowing my Turkey Hill was only a scoop away-Some people say there are better times in the day,

I eat ice cream almost everyday. My favorite flavor is coffee. Turkey Hill has by far the best coffee ice cream of all those I have tasted. Dutch Chocolate is my second favorite. Thanks for making such a quality product.
Great Ice cream. It’s hard to pick a favorite! Butter Pecan and Chocolate Marshmallow are at the top. A question; Rum raisin never seems to be on the shelves in our olcal markets…would like to try it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A SPECIAL COMPANY
We have a Friendly’s Ice Cream place just down the road. Their ice cream is good, but I wish they served Turkey Hill instead.
Turkey Hill is the BEST…..my freezer is full of it! How about bringing back Apple Strudel!!!!! MMMMMMMMMM
I have been serving Turkey Hill ice cream to my granddaughter since she was a baby (she is now 13). When she comes to my home, she always ask for some Turkey Hill and seconds is always a must.
TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A PROBLEM FOR MY WIFE AND I. WE LIVED IN THE SYRACUSE NY SUBURBS FOR A LONG TIME AND HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED TURKEY HILL PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY YOUR VANILLA, IN THE BLACK CONTAINER. WELL, ALONG COMES DUETTO, ESPECIALLY SOFT VANILLA WITH RASPBERRY AND EVERYTHING ELSE WENT OUT THE WINDOW. IT WAS VERY HARD TO FIND, ALTHOUGH OTHER DUETTO COMBO’S WERE MORE READILY AVAILABLE. WE MOVED LAST MONTH TO MARYLAND, AND WOULDN’T YOU KNOW IT, THE SAME SITUATION EXISTS. DUETTO IS NOT AS AVAILABLE AS THE REST OF TURKEY HILL’S LINE, AND THE VANILLA/RASPBERRY COMBINATION IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. I FEEL LIKE INDIANA JONES SEARCHING FOR THE HOLY GRAIL. WELL, NOT QUITE, BUT YOU GET THE IDEA. I GREW UP IN NEW YORK CITY AND AM AQUAINTED WITH THE FINEST ITALIAN STYLE GELATO AND DUETTO DOESN’T SUFFER BY COM-PARISON. ON THE CONTRARY, I FIND IT TO BE THE MOST CREAMY, ENJOYABLE TREAT I CAN REMEMBER HAVING, INCLUDING THE PREMIUM BRANDS. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!
I wish Turkey Hill would have some of their ice cream events in the Ludlow Ma area….. I love you Butter Pecan!! Thanks for all you do!
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Turkey Hill ice cream. We make frappes(called milk shakes in your area, but in New England frappes are made with ice cream). Particularly like to use Duetto ice creams mixed with fresh fruits(eg strawberries/blueberries/) for a refreshing drink.
One of my granddaughters who is 18 will
only eat your Choc-O-Mint ice cream. Twice
I brought home a different brand, and she
would not eat it. She only likes yours.I
have learned my lesson now with Choc-O-Mint. We have many other flavors
that are just the best compared to other
brands. Keep those new flavors coming. I
have one a vanilla root beer combo.
I love your ice cream. Can’t wait to try the Junior Mint! I can’t find the quart containers here though, the ice cream sandwiches are also hard to find.
Love, love your delicious icecream!!!
It’s the best! Keep up the good work!
