MIKE M. ASKS: “Where does butter pecan get its wonderful creamy butter flavor from?”
Thanks for your question, Mike! It’s nice to hear from a fellow Butter Pecan lover. Since our Butter Pecan is actually a butter pecan flavored ice cream, the creamy buttery taste comes from the natural flavors. The butter-roasted pecans also add a buttery taste and a dash of salt is used to enhance the flavor.
Hope this helps. I’m off to help myself to some ice cream. I’m sure you can guess which flavor!
Ernie
P.S. – We sent an e-mail out about this today, but in case you missed it, Turkey Hill just finished shooting our new TV commericials for our iced tea! I know this is an ice cream blog, but I couldn’t resist letting you all know about the new commercials because we’re all so proud of them. Check them out on our website (click here) and let us know what you think with a comment! Enjoy!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
WOW, TURKEY HILL CREAM USES BEST QUAILTY PRODUCTS ,TO MAKE THE BEST TASTING ICE CREAM, JUST LIKE OLD FASHION ICE CREAM MADE FOR YEARS;
The lady at the frig is the best…cracked me up
The ads grab your attention, and these are normal people. But if you’re suggesting that if I put your iced tea in my fridge I’m going to need to break through the ice every time I open the door, I’m not sure that’s a good thing. (smile) So far that hasn’t happened to me.
I am a pecan lover too, ice cream, pie, or just the nut itself. so I am glad to have this nut and eat it too.
I also want you to know that the commericals for the iced tea are terrific.
The turkey hill in roaring spring pa is the most cleanest store and the employees are always happy to greet me.
I love all your ice cream and i want to have your baby.
I love the Butter Pecan flavor too, but as a child my favorite treat was vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and raw chopped pecans. In the Fall, my uncle from Alabama would ship to us a box of fresh pecans from his pecan trees. They were also used for our holiday pecan pies and Christmas cookies. Great memories!
Mmmm, butter pecan is my “litmus test” for an ice cream brand. The ice cream has to be creamy and rich, but not butterscotch-y, and the pecans should be big, crisp and just a little salty.
This week I’m enjoying the delicious Banana Split flavor. It’s great!I also love Turkey Hill yogurt,,,,,,
Warm summer night on the front porch with a bowl of creamy Turkey Hill ice Cream………….oh yeah !
I lkie the cherry ice cream, but never seem to have enough cherries in the ice cream. I also like the butter brickle you once had.
Quite a few years back, I had the pleasure of eating your most fantastic flavor ever, but have not been able to find it since. It was WHITE CHOCOLATE, MACADAMIAN NUT. Will you ever make this wonderful flavor again, or am I just hopeing…. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been eating all your other flavors for years, but I dream of that one.
I am looking forward to trying the Junior Mint flavor. Our store is not carrying it yet. My Mother is coming for about 10 days so we will go through several half-gallons of Turkey Hill during that time. She has to have her ice cream every night!
I’m a longtime fan of Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Please enter me in the contest for a year’s supply. Any flavor will do!!!
