We’re sort of on the fence about candles that smell like food. On one hand, they smell great. On the other, they make you really hungry! Not that that’s a bad thing. The ice cream candle on the right would not only make you hungry, it’ll also look kind of cool while it’s melting away. That’s if you decide to actually light it!
We bought one of these (it does smell great!) and we’ll give it away at the end of the month to one commenter from August chosen at random. We’re not sure if it’ll come in handy on a deserted island, but if you want to buy one for yourself, check them out here.
Speaking of prizes, Kathy P. of Endwell, NY is the winner of our National Ice Cream Month grand prize (a one year supply of ice cream, a one night stay in a Lancaster County bed & breakfast and a personally guided tour of the Turkey Hill factory). Congratulations Kathy, and thanks again to everyone for making this July the best National Ice Cream Month ever!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
This looks great!
Seriously… no one has said yet that “All’s well that End(s)well“??
Congrats to Kathy! I’ll just be over here moping about not winning a year’s worth of ice cream and a grand tour of Turkey Hill… I’ll get over it…. eventually….
The ice cream candle could be a cool prize, too…

Does it smell like vanilla or does it have a hint of caramel as well? It looks good enough to eat, but it’s not as cold and yummy as the Turkey Hill ice cream going into my bowl after I type this.
Kathy, that is an awesome prize!!! Congratulations!!!
That candle is way too cool, I’d be sad to light it but intrigued to see it melt.. Shame it’s not edible! =) Love my TH!!
Kathy, after a trip to Lancaster County and a year’s supply of ice cream, you better start weighing yourself weekly!
I would love to see a Coffee as that is my favorite flavor and a Mint chocolate as well
I like the whipped creme set on the top camoeing the wick, but I wouldn’t like any of these when the candle is halfway cause it wouldn’t look like real ice cream melting, nice decorative piece though
Wow this is the best prize ever! I would love to win this! Please, please please. This is the perfect prize.
Really looks good enough to eat, yummmmm.
Congratulations to Kathy! You’ll have an awesome time so please let us know how it was! The ice cream candle looks so real! I bet the smell is out of this world!
Congrats Kathy!!! Eat some of that wonderful ice cream for all of us!! The ice cream candle sure looks yummy!!
are you sure its not real?looks like
the real thing to me.
can you just imagine this sitting on the kitchen counter when company comes for a visit? awsome!
Good Morning to all Turkey Hill Fans,
The candle is great. I hope everyone is carrreful when ou burn any candle. When you do burn candle Plese put it out when you are finish with it. DO Not leave it burning when you are finish with it. I love candle, They cacn be so pretty around in your home or outside. I have over 50 candle and I use them all most everyday. Sometime, when I burn my candle I do this. I use a plate that is a little larger then the candle I am using I put some sands on it then I place my candle in the center on the plate. That way when the candle melt, it will go into the sands and I won’t have a problems getting the melt candle off my plate and it is safe too. if it fall over ..it will fall on the sands and it will just go out. Or I sometime use a contain fill with a little water in it and sat my candle in the water too. Plase be safe when using a candle.
Wow, the Junior Mint flavor is wonderful. Keep it around.
Congratulations, Kathy-may this be the first of many trips to Lancaster County!!
I’m in agreement with Jason…..Coffee ice cream would be AWESOME!! This candle would be a WONDERFUL addition to anyone’s kitchen..sooooooo tempting!!!!
Love those food look-alike & smell-alike candles. Come on now, your house smells great & all you did was light a candle.
And Kathy…when’s the I.C. party???
sounds good!
I love candles that smell good!
I got something like this for my sister – the ice cream store owner – one Christmas. Don’t know if she ever lit it, though!
I currently have three delicious flavor of Turkey Hill Ice Cream in my freezer so I am torn deciding which flavor to indulge in each evening!
That candle looks good enough to eat. Must smell heavenly
Congratulations to Kathy for winning such a wonderful prize!
That candle looks so real and it would make me hungry but that’s what we have Turkey Hill ice cream for.
i love candles and to collect them. love it
What a perfect idea !! Pretty to look at, heavenly to smell and it would help me to stay on a diet. Eureka !!
What a great idea for a candle. Very unique. Congratulations to Kathy. Enjoy your ice cream and your trip to Lancaster County. The tour of the Turkey Hill plant sounds very interesting. Please tell us about it when you return. Have fun and a safe trip.
That is a great prize idea for the month…sitting around eating our favorite flavor of Turkey Hill ice cream while we burn the candle sounds like a great family evening to me…..Congrats to Kathy and her family on winning the ice cream…I hope you enjoy it and share with all your friends.
I LOVE candles that smell like food! Not to mention the fact, I love candles in general. We have candles all over the house! They make the house smell wonderful!
The candle looks delectable!
I prefer my Ice Cream candle to be thin and small on top of an Ice Cream cake for someone’s birthday. Ernie has TH ever done a study for the sale of premade Ice cream cakes? We always have to get poorer quality ones.
Yumm, I’m going to make myself a sundae right now.
That looks good enough to eat!!!!!!
Lol. That is one real looking candle. But it looks so yummy, I don’t think I have the heart to actually light it up = p
This sundae candle looks good enough to eat! Candle scents that give the aroma of the “real thing” are great.
Yesterday was my husband and my 59th Wedding Anniversary. Nothing would have been more festive than the ice cream candle on our table with a big dish each of Turkey Hill Ice Cream. If we win it will grace our table next year for our 60th!
I love candles of all kinds. I love your ice-cream. What a great combination of the two.
Oh my, this candle would be great for those watching their weight. It smells wonderful and you can imagine your eating the sundae while its burning. No calories!!!
Now who doesn’t love candles! A very different one at that.
Makes you want to go out and buy some Turkey Hill Ice Cream. hahaaa!
The candle looks good enough to eat.
Hope I win it!
Looks good enough to eat
Maybe…..
And congrats Kathy!
Unfortunately, if I had a candle like this I would consider it too pretty to burn and it would wind up being a dust collector. Give me a real ice cream sundae any time with TH of course!
I’ll bet that this candle smells delicious! It certainly looks good enough to eat…Yummy
that candle looks good enough to eat.
I,m not a candle person, but this looks as good as I,m sure it smells.
way to go Kathy— enjoy your trip, and please tell us about it.
the candle looks so pretty, but Id rather have the real thing. I have so many candles from Lancaster and when I light them I feel like I’m back there.
If only I could afford a homemade quilt.
Thank you Turkey Hill having this journal– its so much fun to read others comments.
omg these icream sundae candles are wonderful. going to buy some for christmas gifts. cant wait to see them………….
OH THIS DOES LOOK GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT !!! WILL HAVE TO CHECK THEM OUT FOR XMAS GIFTS !!! MMMMMMMMM……… THANKS FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN ONE FIRST!!!!!!!!!! ELIZABETH
I had one like this. I kept it as long as I could. I didn’t have the heart to light it. It started to look bad, so I had to melt it down for another project. Moral of the story…if you win it–light it and enjoy it.
It looks soooo yummy!
Two of my favorite things in just one product…candles and ice cream. I love it!
…and good for light on the desert island!!!
The candle looks great, and congrats to Kathy the envy of us all – I’ll just have to go out and buy my own ice cream again for another year.
first I must say to the award winner, Kathy, enjoy. you will have a great time I am sure,
and now about this candle, if I win it, I will surely trade it for a real ice cream.
Congratulations to Kathy, enjoy your ice cream and trip. This candle is beautiful, wouldn’t have the heart to light it, except if our electric went off, but just think I could eat all the Turkey Hill Ice Cream in my freezer, so it wouldn’t melt,Oh Boy. Linda
LOVE Candles and this one I would definitely save and put in my glass case for display and smell only!
Nice prize Kathy. Congrats. Cute candle. It almost looks real. Amy
Congratulations Kathy, Enjoy your wonderful prize! Candles do smell great. I work in a department store and when you are in the candle aisle it really makes you hungrey! Way to go Turkey Hill!!
congrats to the winner enjoy your prizes!!!!!
You “light” up my life with that
Good enough to eat.
But great just to sit around and see if the grand kids realize that you can’t eat it.
LOVE IT
That candle would look great next a bowl of plastic fruit.
That candle looks like a real sundae. It is a cool prize! Thanks Turkey Hill for all the great fun!!!
Being a candle lover, that would be a wonderful addition to my collection. Not that I really need one, but it would also remind me that it’s time for some Turkey Hill!!!
Believe it or not you’ve combined two of my kids favorite things, the third being candy. They have a serious candle sniffing addiction too which is somewhat shocking for a 2 and 5 yr old.
These hot nights, watching an ice cream candle burn down should cool one off. Congrats Cathy.
The candle looks delcious, but it is only a tease for the real thing.
That candle is so cool!!
The candle would make an enjoyable conversation piece, but nothing can take the place of the real thing (Turkey Hill ice cream)!! Any flavor, but right now seasonal favorites are raspberry and peach! Bring them on!!
Thank you all for your many kind congratulations! My husband an I am looking forward to the trip to Lancaster County and the tour of the Turkey Hill Dairy….my children are looking forward to eating a year’s supply of ice cream!
Yummm – Better make sure you have plenty of Turkey Hill Ice Cream on hand when you’re burning this candle!
Looks delicious, but it couldn’t compare to the real Turkey Hill! Honestly, I do love the scent of good candles, but I’m not sure I would want the temptation it presents when the real McCoy is not available. SMILE!
Thanks, Loretta
will have to make sure we tell thr grandkids that it’s a candle
Looks good enough to eat! Too pretty to burn!
That candle looks good enough to eat!
)
As many have said before me – the candle is too realistic to burn. I would use it as an example and try to duplicate it with Turkey Hill ice cream along with the appropriate toppings.
How adorable!!! I’d never burn that candle!
Congratulations Kathy,enjoy your prizes.
The candle looks good enough to eat.
Beautiful.
