SEPTEMBER PRIZE: THE ICE CREAM LAMP!
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
Ice cream is the ultimate comfort food. Some would call it a shining beacon at the end of a long, hard day. Others might claim that ice cream lights up their life one bowl at a time. Well, now ice cream really can light up your life with the ice cream lamp from FredFlare.com.
The ice cream lamp is two feet of luminescent vanilla soft serve goodness and we’re giving one of these gems away as this month’s Ice Cream Journal prize! One commenter will be chosen from all the comments left during September to receive this radiant gift. Good luck!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

September 27th, 2008 at 10:37 amIce cream is a summer time tradition at our home! Nothing says summer like a cool, yummy batch of home-made ice cream. In fact my teenagers invited all of their friends over one evening for home-made ice cream and a bonfire… This fun lamp would be a shining beacon to remind those teens where to stop for the goods!
September 22nd, 2008 at 9:34 amMy family loves your products! I also wanted to say that my husband runs onsecondscoop.com and his birthday is coming up. This would be a great present for him!

September 8th, 2008 at 1:53 pmPerfect! An ice cream lamp. I know I’d love the lamp! I have a perfect place for it-but don’t need to be reminded to eat ice cream. We always have it around 7:30 every nite. Yummy.

September 7th, 2008 at 10:19 amThis would be the ultimate comfort for my husband. I always tell him he is boring because he orders vanilla when there are so many other flavors. It would be a lighthouse at the end of his WALMART day!

September 7th, 2008 at 7:00 amBoy oh boy wouldn’t it be neat to have this lamp to light up our Ice Screamer’s convention next June-NOT to mention having it illuminate my annual neighborhood ice cream party next summer. Can you guess we are reallllllly an ice cream household.
September 6th, 2008 at 10:18 pmfabulous 11, a really bright idea.
September 6th, 2008 at 6:35 pmi would hook that rascal up to a timer

us it’s time for turkey hill!!
What an awesome conversation starter!!!
September 6th, 2008 at 5:39 pmI decorate for all the Holidays but have a hard time finding something for the summer months. I’d be the talk of the neighborhood with this unigue lawn ornament.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:58 pmWOW what a lamp …. it would be summer no matter what time of year it was!
September 6th, 2008 at 3:19 pmWe’d be the talk of the neighborhood if we displayed this lamp on our front porch.
September 6th, 2008 at 1:31 pmWhat a cute novelty and conversation piece. But, oh my, like I NEED to be reminded about Turkey Hill ice cream! It sure would do the trick if I wasn’t already addicted!
September 6th, 2008 at 1:29 pmI would love to have one of those Ice cream lights, I could sit by the light every night and eat my turkey hill ice cream, my favorite is the junior mint. or shall I say it is one of my favorites
September 6th, 2008 at 1:04 pmplease pick me-andy
Would really like one of those at home-looks like it would be a soft light
September 6th, 2008 at 12:12 pmi’ve seen one of those some where, a long time ago, i just can’t remember where. that’s neat.
September 6th, 2008 at 10:51 amthis light looks cool, make me want ice cream even more, na!
September 6th, 2008 at 9:32 amI would love the ice cream lamp. I would keep it on all the time. It would remind me that it is always time for another bowl of Turkey Hill ice cream!
September 6th, 2008 at 9:30 amI love all the prizes you offer. This lamp is really unique. Vanilla is my husband’s favorite flavor - how perfect.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:24 amVery unique! I wonder if it was originally designed for an ice cream shop.
September 6th, 2008 at 6:47 amMy neices and nephews would get such a kick out of this when they come over to visit. They all just love ice cream. They choose that dessert over cookis or cake.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:07 amThe lamp would really turn me on to a dish or cone of ice cream.
September 6th, 2008 at 2:12 amWhat a neat lamp that would be really noticable if anyone came over then I could plug Turkey Hill Ice Cream.
September 5th, 2008 at 10:50 pmThe ice cream lamp is so cute. My grandtriplets would love to have it at their house. We are all ice cream eaters and big fan of Turkey Hill. The lamp would be nice in a child’s room.
September 5th, 2008 at 9:23 pmI think that this special ice cream lamp should be donated to a local Children’s Hospital. Just think of all the smiles on the kids faces.
September 5th, 2008 at 8:33 pmLove all the flavors of Turkey Hill especially the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. Still trying to find the Coconut Cream Pie one.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:50 pmI wonder, if you put that lamp in a window, if people would come knocking at your door, thinking they could buy ice cream there? LOL If I won that lamp, I’d put it in the game room, so I wouldn’t get hungry visitors! lol
September 5th, 2008 at 7:47 pmI finally found and love the coconut cream pie ice cream, and can’t wait for the next! barbara
September 5th, 2008 at 7:40 pmI scream, You scream, we All scream, for an ice-cream…Lamp !!

September 5th, 2008 at 4:23 pmThat lamp is so cute! I would love to have a big ice cream cone greet me when I come from work everyday.
September 5th, 2008 at 4:16 pmthe idea of having an ice cream lamp is lots of fun, maybe not as much fun as a leg lamp like from the movie a Christmas Story, but very close. but if I cannot have an ice cream lamp, I would be happy to just have some more turkey hill ice cream
September 5th, 2008 at 3:08 pmA two foot ice cream cone? What fun! How ’bout another idea? I’d take a two foot ice cream cone full of Turkey Hill ice cream! Now that would be a Hill of Ice Cream!!
September 5th, 2008 at 3:08 pmI LOVE that lamp, but having it around could make me gain weight! Oh well, I’m willing to take that chance.
September 5th, 2008 at 2:47 pmHello there! Everyone knows how I love “TH” ice cream! I love it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, would be wonderful to have a icecream light for a soft glow for a midnight snack of ice cream! Maybe put me in ice cream dream land! night night
September 5th, 2008 at 2:30 pmWhat a neat lamp! Would like to win that and bring it to North Carolina, so everyone could see it, then maybe TH would get there ice cream here in my area. The more people that would taste it - your business would grow and grow and grow. Turkey Hill is the best!
September 5th, 2008 at 2:24 pmThat’s just too cute!!
September 5th, 2008 at 2:19 pmso neat! i’ve never seen one like it! would love to have it!!!!
September 5th, 2008 at 2:15 pmneat looking love to have it
September 5th, 2008 at 2:08 pmI have a learning disabled child who is absolutely fascinated with anything that lights up, spins or is powered by electricity or wind. The ice cream lamp would be a great and unique addition to his collection of lamps and fans. Maybe sitting by the ice cream lamp would help him focus on his homework while at the same providing a nice background to relax by and have an ice cream treat.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:56 pmI love ice cream and Turkey Hill is the best - tonight is shopping and with a storm coming, what better time to stock up. I’ll have to eat the entire gallon if we loose power!
September 5th, 2008 at 1:48 pmI love the ice cream lamp! It would light up my hallway as I run to grab a coat to go the store to pick up my favorite ice cream. It would also serve as a reminder beam for great ice crea.m specials
September 5th, 2008 at 1:41 pmThe ice cream lamp is really nice. Sure looks like you could dig into it and it would taste yummy.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:39 pmAt the end of a hard day, the Ice Cream Lamp would welcome you home like an old friend and warm you right up.
Hi turkey Hill fans, Today is Friday and it’s my day to get Turkey Hill ice cream for the weekend. I have to get enough for my grandson that are comming over. I love the ice cream cone. That would look nice in my place. I eat, talk, dream and eat turkey hill ice cream. Turkey hill is the best comfort food. I just came up with an easy ice cream recipe call cookie ice cream. all you have to do is take some turkey hill ice, let it get soft some, spread it between to of your flavor cookies, freeze them unitl hard. serve with some ice topping on top and you got a good ice cold comfort food. Your children will love you for these. best still have some friends over and have them make their own ice cream cookies. have at least 2 to 3 different kind of turkey hill ice cream and topping. They will love you and turkey hill too. have a great& safe bless weekend everyone
September 5th, 2008 at 1:31 pmMy neighbors are always asking me how many time I go to the store for TH ice cream. I tell them whenever I am down to 2-3 containers, never can let myself run out. If I had that lamp I would put it on my front porch with a sign saying Turkey Hill Ice Cream is the best. There is a store right across the street from my home, but I never get there ice cream, only my fave TH. Linda
September 5th, 2008 at 1:09 pmNow that’s a great idea! This way you can have your “ice cream” and stay on your diet at the same time (smile) but not nearly as fun and good as the real thing!
September 5th, 2008 at 1:08 pmIn response to Tim’s comment near the bottom of the blog…who’s friends asked, “how could you blog about ice cream?” — Why not!? There’s a whole world of ice cream out there! Welcome to the blogosphere: You can blog about anything!!
September 5th, 2008 at 1:07 pmThat lamp is the icecream in the soda. Having planted 15 tree to provide a visual barrier, my wife was pleased that she no longer needed to see the school building. However a glitch developed. She now only sees the loading dock and evey time the Turkey Hill semi is making a delivery she threatens to steal it. Needless to say a purchase is now required on my part. Glad to see that the students are getting quality.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:59 pmWhat a delicious thought..an ice cream lamp. Wouldn’t this be great in my RV..Turkey Hill fills the bill and what A THRILL..it would literally “light ” up my life!
September 5th, 2008 at 12:28 pmpretty neat lamp.looks like it even has
September 5th, 2008 at 12:25 pman energy efficient bulb.nice!
Hello, Well I’m back to my old time favorite, mixing cinnamon ice cream with cheesecake ice cream. Try your own vaiation!
September 5th, 2008 at 12:14 pmOH my goodness, grandchildren have a hard time going home now, to win that lamp & put in their playroom would be something. Ice cream gramma.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:04 pmOh yeah, that sooo belongs here! I almost purchased a cone just like this that had been made into a mailbox. Loved it.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:02 pmIce cream is one food that is enjoyed by all persons in the world. It is like speaking the same language any where you may be.
September 5th, 2008 at 11:57 amWouldn’t I be the envy of the neighborhood with this lamp in my house! When my friends come over to visit I would have to remind them that it represents Turkey Hill ice cream and not some soft custard ice cream.
September 5th, 2008 at 11:53 amholy cow , what creamy cool delight of a lamp;
September 5th, 2008 at 11:39 amturkey hill ice cream,
September 5th, 2008 at 11:31 amlighting the way
to a great treat,
an explosion of goodness
in every lick!
THE LAMP IS REALLY AWESOME. WHAT A NOVEL IDEA AND A PERFECT ADDITION TO A FAMILY ROOM.
September 5th, 2008 at 11:20 amThis month’s prize is a fantasy. Wow it’s even better than the glow of electric sex in the window (with a nod to A Christmas Story).
September 5th, 2008 at 11:07 amBeam me up, Scotty, I’ve died and am ready for Heaven. Just put me on a cloud of Original Vanilla.
September 5th, 2008 at 9:51 amThat is so cute! But just seeing it makes my mouth water for some ice cream…. heading to the fridge now….
September 5th, 2008 at 9:51 amThis would be cute for a child’s bedroom but as for having it as decor in any other part of the house, well looking at it would be me hungry!
September 5th, 2008 at 9:42 amThat lamp is very unique, would not have to worry about anyone else saying I copied their decor idea! My grandchildren would LOVE it, wouldn’t be able to keep them away. But of course, I would have to keep TH on hand for them, you know what they say about the power of suggestion!
September 5th, 2008 at 9:35 amI want to dip that big icecream cone in chocolate!
September 5th, 2008 at 9:21 amThe ice cream lamp is awesome!!!! I can’t imagine everyone couldn’t find a nice place for that in a child’s room or a more casual place in the house.
September 5th, 2008 at 9:21 amLove reading the daily tidbits of info. Have learned a good bit. The ice cream cone lamp looks intersting. Have you ever thought of making licorice flavor ice cream? When a teen I worked at a dairy bar and around halloween each year they made this flavor. People waited anxiously each year for it. Keep up the great work.
September 5th, 2008 at 8:41 amI’m not sure what we’d do with a two foot ice cream lamp but I can’t resist trying for it as a true ice cream lover. Too bad it’s not a two foot tall real ice cream cone. We’d know what to do with that - EAT IT!
September 5th, 2008 at 8:25 amMy daughter would love this! Would be perfect for the Christmas display!
September 5th, 2008 at 8:12 amWhat a cute light!!!! My grandsons would love to come to Grammy’s and see a cute ice cream cone light. Of course, they would love eating their TH ice cream better!!
September 5th, 2008 at 8:02 amWhat a great idea! Would love to have the lamp to put by my husbands chair while he eats his TH fix for the day.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:55 amOh that lamp would be wonderful, I would put it on the porch and all my neighbors would know they would be welcome to stop in for some Turkey Hill Ice Cream!!!!!!
September 5th, 2008 at 7:51 amWhat a cool unique lamp! I NEED one of those in my house!
September 5th, 2008 at 7:45 amThis would make a festive piece to any ones decore. It makes me think of the old time ice cream trucks that used to come around. I have my bowl of ice cream evernight, what better way to eat it, than by the soft glow of the lamp. This lamp is way cool, like nothing I ever thought one could win or buy. Thanks turkey hill for another great prize.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:32 amElena,
September 5th, 2008 at 7:32 amIf you put it on your front stoop, it will attract all your neighbors to come over and ear all your TH ice cream like the lamp on the Statue of Liberty’s light attracts all of the oppressed to the freedoms of our great country. I think it shoud be by the freezer to represent the “freedom” of choice of all those wonderful flavors TH makes.
I hope no one takes me seriously.
It is true that ice cream is the ultimate comfort food so I’m sure that unique lamp would put you in a comfortable mood every time you looked at it. What could be better than sitting by that lamp eating a big bowl of your favorite Turkey Hill ice cream?
September 5th, 2008 at 7:28 amA light cone to life and to turkey hill what could be better ice cream
September 5th, 2008 at 7:24 amWOW! It would be nice to have a Ice cream lamp to put me to sleep and to put me in Turkey hill land with all the flavors of Ice cream.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:12 amI have to agree with all the comments. That is a very cool, unique and creative lamp. I would love to win that I could just see the thrill in my daughter’s eyes of how amazing this cone is…..that is really cute. I too think I would enjoy it around icecream and a book with my family….they would love it.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:05 amWow I would love to win this prize! What a perfect way to light up your room and enjoy some Turkey Hill during your late night craving. I would love to have this lamp.
September 5th, 2008 at 5:35 amWow, love the lamp and love this blog too! After I told my friends about this blog, they made of it saying how could you possibly blog about ice cream. I guess they wouldn’t want to to tell them about this cool lamp then!
September 5th, 2008 at 1:52 amI would love to read by icecream cone light!!
September 4th, 2008 at 3:12 pmWho wouldn’t want that giant cone on their front stoop? I could sit by it eating my ice cream every night!
September 4th, 2008 at 12:49 pmwow! you guys come up with the neatest items!
i agree with Matt below, “I’m not sure my wasteline would appreciate” being reminded every day about ice cream, but it this lamp would add some flare to any room!
September 4th, 2008 at 10:17 amVery interesting! That leg lamp from the film “A Christmas Story” sort of pales in comparison! I’ll take a giant glowing ice cream cone over a leg anyday! Although if the power of suggestion has any real merit, I’m not sure my wasteline would appreciate such an item!
September 4th, 2008 at 8:36 amI must agree that ice cream is the ultimate comfort food. I find this to be true for many reasons, one of which is the versatility of icecream - there are so many recipies out there using ice cream and of course it’s perfect all by itself! I checked out the lamp on the FredFlare website, which shows some alternate views - this lamp is HUGE yet adorable.
