FEATURED PHOTO: APPEARANCES CAN BE DECIEVING
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
The photo above may look like three delicious soft serve vanilla ice cream cones, but the treats are actually cupcakes! Thanks to Glorious Treats for letting us use this very tempting photo. If you’re looking for a recipe to make these treats, check one out here. We can’t promise they’ll look as tempting as these, but they’ll probably taste just as good!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

What could be better than cake that looks like ice cream!
September 13th, 2008 at 7:57 pmIce Cream Cone Cupcakes have been a favorite in my family for many, many years. No one in my family is creative enough to make them look soooo good. However, it is taste that matters the most. (A couple good scoops of Turkey Hill Ice Cream will improve any that may look better than taste.)
September 11th, 2008 at 5:35 pmWhat a great looking treat. Finally ice cream that won’t melt. It does need some Turkey Hill on the side though.
September 10th, 2008 at 6:59 amyummy though there needs to be TH along side to be best
September 9th, 2008 at 8:52 pmCould have fooled me I thought they were ice cream. I am going to try to make them. Thanks Turkey Hill for all the facts, recipes and fun!
September 9th, 2008 at 8:16 pmThey look very tasty.
September 9th, 2008 at 7:14 pmI made them a few years ago when my niece and nephew were small. They were a bit hit. Now I just fill the cones with TH ice cream when my niece and nephew come to visit, which is quite often since they know I have alot of TH in the freezer. Linda
September 9th, 2008 at 7:03 pmI would rather have the real thing. I tried making these for a birthday party one time and the cones turned out soggy. Maybe I did something wrong.
September 9th, 2008 at 6:11 pmWow! How clever. Sure looks like ice cream to me. Cupcakes are okay but I prefer ice cream any day.
September 9th, 2008 at 5:20 pmI’m an avid baker and I was fooled!!! So cute!
September 9th, 2008 at 4:24 pmThey are so realistic! They should be a great hit with the kids who like both ice cream and cupcakes. And of course we adults have our sweet tooth, too. I’ll have to try the recipe but not,of course, before I indulge in some Turkey Hill ice cream.
September 9th, 2008 at 4:05 pmSorry, but I like my cake to look like cake and ice cream to look like ice cream.
September 9th, 2008 at 3:37 pmI just love cupcakes now I would have these with a side of icecream!!!
September 9th, 2008 at 2:46 pmGlad you are better ice cream makers than you are spellers. Remember “i before e except after c” from grade school?
September 9th, 2008 at 2:00 pmGood looking cupcakes.
they look so real. ican go for a ice cream right now.
September 9th, 2008 at 1:17 pmi can go for a ice cream right now. they look so real.
September 9th, 2008 at 1:13 pmwhat a great idea
September 9th, 2008 at 1:00 pmWhat a great idea, nice touch for a birthday party. Thank you.
September 9th, 2008 at 12:34 pmthis photo is very deceiving but also very delicious, I have done this myself but the icing never really looked this good. good job to the baker
September 9th, 2008 at 12:32 pmWhat a neat party idea. I’ll pass it along to my kids.
September 9th, 2008 at 12:14 pmGood Afternoon to all Turkey Hill Fans,
September 9th, 2008 at 11:07 amThey do look so good, But They can pass for Ice cream, I know you can make cup cake like that. The top could be white frosting or whipped cream they sure look good.Think how they made them by pouring the cake or cupcakes batter into ice cream cone. and Bake until done. then you frost with your flavor frosting.
They don’t take the place of turkey hill ice cream
That IS decieving! I had to look twice once I figured out they weren’t really ice cream. But they look delicious just the same.
September 9th, 2008 at 10:57 amI made these or similar when my daughter was younger in grammar school! They are great! Barbara
September 9th, 2008 at 10:55 amLook almost too good to eat-not.
September 9th, 2008 at 10:24 amThese look delicious but I’m guessing that has to be whipped cream on the top. It would be hard to duplicate that soft serve appearance with frosting.
September 9th, 2008 at 10:16 amThey look delicious! I’d like to try to make them but can anyone tell me if you use regular ice cream cones or are they special ones and if they are special, where would I buy them? Thanks!
September 9th, 2008 at 10:04 amThose look great,I do not think I could get my icing to look like that, I got the recipe on the website you provided so I am going to try it tonight….just hope mine taste as good as yours look.
September 9th, 2008 at 9:51 amMy boys are now grown,, 32, 28 & 24,, but when they were young, I made the “ice cream cone cupcakes” to take into school for their b/d treats. They were a big hit because there was no messy cupcake papers to dispose of, they stood upright in the carrier and all the kids loved them. I do have to admit though, that my icing ontop didn’t look nearly as real or as good as the ones in your picture!
September 9th, 2008 at 9:44 amI have been making cupcakes in cones for quite a few years when the kids were younger. Have to confess, never looked as good as these, tasted good though
September 9th, 2008 at 8:55 amThat photo brings back memories. I tried to make these cupcakes once for one of my children and I have no clue what I did, however they did not look that delicious! I have printed this recipe and will give it another try!
September 9th, 2008 at 8:52 amThank you for sharing this recipe with us. My grandson always asks me to make cupcakes instead of cake so this will be perfect for him (and the rest of us!)
September 9th, 2008 at 7:51 amare you sure thats not turkey hill ice
September 9th, 2008 at 7:46 amcream on top of those cones?
I’m going to try with a chocolate version. The 99 cent store sells those cones in chocolate so I’ll try it 2 day & let u know the outcome.
September 9th, 2008 at 7:45 amThey look delicious…will have to try the recipe!! No melting!!!
September 9th, 2008 at 7:18 amThose cupcakes look great. Hard to believe that it’s not ice cream.
September 9th, 2008 at 7:02 amI can’t believe I’ve been away this long!!!! But in the meantime I have fun news!! I’ve been eating the Double Decker TH Ice Cream Sandwiches that are udderly amazing!! They have one chocolate side and one vanilla side with half chocolate ice cream then half vanilla touching opposite sides of the cookie parts!! It’s so neato to look at and very tasty!! So go try some!!!!!
September 8th, 2008 at 12:17 pmboy, do those vanilla ice cream cones with sprinkles look so good , your making my mouth water
