Election day is only four days away, and no matter which candidate you support, an election night party is always a great way to bring together friends and family. That’s why we invented this Election Night Party Ice Cream Cake recipe. Half of it is blue (for the Democrats at your party) and half of it is red (for Republican invitees). Once served, guests can cast their “vote” by eating either a red piece or a blue piece. May the best half win!
Since no actual pictures of this cake exist, below is a crude drawing of the cake. Please pardon our artistic skills.
INGREDIENTS
• 1 box of Vanilla cake mix (additional ingredients may be required based on cake mix instructions)
• 1 1.5 quart container of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
• 1 bottle of blue food coloring
• 1 bottle of red food coloring
• 1 container of white cake frosting
• Appropriate patriotic cake decorations (stars, etc.)
DIRECTIONS
Prepare vanilla cake mix according to directions on box in cake pan of appropriate size. After cake has finished baking, remove from oven and place in the refrigerator to cool for approximately one hour.
While cake is cooling, separate Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream into equal portions in two separate bowls. Add a small amount of blue food coloring to one bowl and a small amount of red food coloring to the other. Mix ice cream and food coloring until color is blended throughout. More food coloring may be required to achieve desired blue and red colors.
After cake has cooled, carefully cut the cake horizontally to create two layers. Place the bottom layer on a platter. With ice cream softened (you may need to let the ice cream warm a bit and stir it), spread the blue ice cream on half of the bottom half of the cake and the red ice cream on the other half of the bottom half of the cake. Place the top layer of the cake over the ice cream and place in the freezer for one hour to allow ice cream to harden.
While cake and ice cream is hardening, mix half of the white frosting with some blue food coloring and half with red food coloring to create blue and red frosting.
Once cake and ice cream has hardened, remove from freezer. Spread the blue frosting on the half with the blue ice cream and the red frosting on the half with red ice cream. Adorn edges of cake with stars or other patriotic decorations.
Place in freezer until ready to serve.

What a fun way to celebrate the election. This cake looks delicious. Thanks for the great recipe Turkey Hill!
Thanks for this recipe! And such complete directions! I do appreciate it.
That’s a really cute cake….but to be honest, we’d just skip the cake and go right for the Turkey Hill in the freezer, usually Vanilla Bean, at least 2 scoops with cookies for Election Night coverage. Hey, how a BYOC party (“Bring your own carton”, and everyone gets to try a different flavor)
Yipee! Finally something in this election that is sweet, enjoyable, and not the least bit confrontational. Thanks T.H.T. A great way to celebrate our freedom to vote. We are al winners with Turkey Hill. Ernie for president!
What a cool idea. Would be good for any patriotic holiday. Red, White and Blue.
What an excellent idea for a party treat. It sounds very good and I’m sure everyone would be enjoying it so much that no matter who wins the election, no arguments would break out. Who can argue with a mouthful of Turkey Hill ice cream cake?
Great idea. Since hubby & I are registered in different parties we get both snail mail and email in great volumes on how to vote. We will be celebrating the end of cluttering up our computer screen and carrying in junk mail and not who wins. The only problem it will be the start of the season of mail order and charity junk mail and spam. Can’t wait for what you will have for a New Years threat when our junk mail & spam ebbs to a reasonable amount and look forward for your “Box of Chocolate” again.
Awesome idea must go get a van. cake mix. I love trying different recipes especially with Turkey Hill ice cream. Linda
I’m going to put half red ice cream and half blue ice cream, then frost the opposing colors with the red and blue. Confusing? I’m voting Democrat for President but Republican for rest of contestents. I get a piece of both halves as I am bi’party
I am mixing colors and icings having both colors on each half. I am voting Democrat for Pres. but Republican for other candidates. I can have my cake and eat it too.
Great cake, too bad the candidates arn’t just as good!!!
Great recipe! May the best candidates win! Turkey Hill are you running? lol
sounds cool!
It is a cool idea, but I think we should do away with parties and just vote for the most capable person.
Mccain
This is a great way to eat ice cream and cake. Maybe Turkey Hill can put out its own version for sale in stores. You have different flavors for special occasions – why not special ice cream cakes for special occasions.
Your Ice Cream cake Ba-ROCKS!
Interesting!
May the best half be gone!
How long will that ice cream hold up under warm temperatures? People have a hard time deciding which political party to vote for. I say skip the cake and just do the ice cream.
For Wednesday November 5, mix red and blue together for your ice cream cake and you will get purple to help those whose candidate did not win.
Red piece for me, please!!
when I read this headline, I thought you were spying in my freezer, we have turkey hill party cake ice cream and we did eat it the night of the election.so good.
I SCREAM FOR….(you know what)….
TURKEY HILL!!!
I hope I win party will be for retared adults
