Julie P. from Ambridge, PA asks: I was looking to invest for the first time in the stock market and was wondering if Turkey Hill has a stock symbol. I am asking because I only eat Turkey Hill these days.
Thanks for your question, Julie. Turkey Hill itself isn’t a publicly owned and traded company and therefore has no stock for sale, but our parent company, Kroger, is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol KR if you’d like to invest a bit in that.
I guess you could consider our ice cream and iced tea like stock. Every time you buy those products, you’re making an investment in Turkey Hill Dairy. And unlike the stock market, where you might lose money or wait a long time to see a profit, with our ice cream and iced tea you’re rewarded immediately!
On that note, I’m headed to the grocery store after work to make several investments of my own!
Best,
Ernie

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
That’s interesting. Kroger is a familiar name. Have to keep my priorities though…ice cream is much tastier than a stock certificate.
I’ve never heard of Kroger before but will check it out. I’ll keep buying Turkey Hill on a regular basis just as I have been doing. You definitely offer quality products.
What a good question! Also great to see positive affirmation of quality products, I think many of us truly appreciate the personal touch the T.H.T. offers. Thanks!
We used to have Kroger grocery stores in our area(Western PA),but haven’t seen that name around here in ages. Sure am glad we have TH ice cream though!
Turkey Hill is always a great investment when you buy it.
lived in york, now ocean city n.j. ate t.h.then , and still eat t.h. best you can buy.
Thanks for all the interesting info.
Hey guys, when are the Turkey Hill calendars going out? Do we need to sign up for them?
Kroger, that is a surprise. Thats a midwest outfit and I would have thought it was out of the TH marketing area back a few years. I would have guessed it was either private or part of a giant food company like Kraft, Nestle’s or Uni_Lever but not a supermarket company.
I like the odds of “investing” in Turkey Hill products rather than the Stock Market. You know you can never lose with Turkey Hill and I do my share of keeping them in business.
I am not they kind that buys stock, but I will buy Turkey Hill everything else
Turkey Hill still remains popular without being involved in the stock market. As the Dow Jones loses points I see all the good points in buying and eating Turkey Hill ice cream. Turkey Hill will always be part of my economic plan.
AT LEAST TURKEY HILL IS PROUD AND( MADE IN THE USA) NOT OVER SEAS
I, together with numerous others, are heavily “invested” in TH. We receive “dividends” in the form of your cents off coupons. However, we seem to “eat up” all these very quickly. Somethings are more important than “stock”! How can we put a price on the enjoyment and pleasure of those “spoonfuls” of delicious ice cream! Keep up the good work and keep those new flavors coming!
my grandkids, boy 13, girl 7, love turkey hill ice cream. they get that from their grandmother ! anyway, i looked up kroger on stock exchange, contacted an online broker, who only charges $7.00 per trade and have ordered a share of stock for each of the kids for christmas. they will love it !
Turkey Hill, a great investment! Makes you relax and forget!! Thank you.
Sounds like a plan-I need ice cream.
Used to shop at Kroger all the time—about 50 years ago before they left Akron, Ohio
Miss Kroger stores shoped them when I lived in Ohio 35 years ago.
Hi Turkey Hills
I have a question to ask; Will you ever make pure orange ice cream or mango ice cream? If yes will it have chuck of orange or mango in it? YOu see I love mango and What I do is buy turkey Hill Vanill ice cream and mix 2 cup chopped mnago in it. or 1 cup of pure fresh orange juice to vanill ice cream.
one last quesiton. do you ever have coupon in the newspaper? Everyone have a great day
I invest on a regular basis in Turkey Hill, lol! The best stock you get buy!
I thought Krogers was passe, but Turkey Hill will live on forever, thank goodness.
I wish I could buy stock in Turkey Hill Ice Cream, but for now I am just glad I can enjoy all the lucious flavors that are out this time of year…..Happy Thanksgiving everyone……..
If you were out of the market six months ago,you are now in the cat birds seat.Like me.
I love the idea one reader came up with of chopping up a mango into the vanilla ice cream! I have to get out and buy both TH vanilla ice cream and a nice ripe mango. Anything with TH ice cream is delicious!
I invest in Turkey Hill all the time, even when the price does not drop!! What’s more important, the cost or my love of Turkey Hill Ice Cream at any cost????
Yummy, Yummy, in my Tummy! I love Turkey Hill Ice Cream with Hot fudge Topping!!! double Yum,Yum!!!!
Yum, Yum !
i love your ice cream it is the best
i love turkey hill and thanks to krogers can get it.
I was disappointed to see you reduce the size of the container again. Keep the full size — I don’t mind spending a little more. First you went from 1/2 gallon to 3.5 quarts and now down to 3 quarts — what’s next? Please don’t keep cutting back on the quantity of ice cream.
