Way back in February we asked everyone to send us their best photos of loved ones (human or otherwise) enjoying Turkey Hill ice cream or iced tea. The best photos would be featured in our annual Turkey Hill calendar. The response was overwhelming. After sifting through hundreds of submission, we were finally able to narrow it down to 13 finalists – one for each month and one for the cover.
A big thanks to everyone who submitted pictures. It wasn’t easy choosing the 13 featured images because there were so many great photos to choose from. We’ve had many themes for the calendar over the years, from recipes to artistic renderings of Lancaster County, but this one is one of our favorites. That’s because it’s a reflection of the people most important to us: our loyal customers.
We think you’ll be pleased with the 2009 calendar and we know you’ll like the photos we’ve chosen for it. To give you all a sneak peak at what’s in store, below is the fantastic image we chose for the cover of the calendar. It was featured here on the Ice Cream Journal several months ago, and it was submitted by Matt E. of Douglas, MA (that’s his daughter, Jenna).
If you’d like to receive the calendar (it’s free!) please call 1-800-MY-DAIRY or email our customer service department using the “Contact Us” feature on the website.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Yes, I remember that photo from its earlier posting. Good choice for the cover!
I hope you do this again next year so my husband can take a pic of me and the girlz – a bulldog and a bulldog/beagle mix. We share a ice cream cone almost ever night
I’m sure all who submitted (like me) wish they had been chosen, but if the calendar is as great as those in the past I can’t wait to see it. Although hard to do, it probably tops past years. What ideas can you come up with for 2010????????
I am happy to see you only had one picture here. I want to be surprised when I receive my calendar in the mail.
What a great picture to put on the cover. I’m sure the other pictures are spectacular too. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Adorable picture for the cover! I can’t imagine what other ones will be in the calendar. I am waiting patiently for mine; while I eat Turkey Hill ice cream of course!
I thought this pic was great and I can’t wait for the calendar. Now for turkey day my soc-it-to-me pound cake and eggnog ice cream will go very well together, can’t wait.

This was a ‘fan’tastic idea and I, too, can’t wait till I get my calendar. Makes me wish I’d have taken more pictures of those all-too-soon forgotten memories.
The calendar is one of the many things that I love about Turkey Hill please send my soon Thank You
Absolutely adorable . . ingenius idea
This photo captures the sophistication of the entry…it’s not too “cutesy”, but it’s classy and homey at the same time. Good pick!
Looking forward to receiving the calendar!!
Waiting for my calendar. I,too, remember this pic. Very nice.
We’re glad to hear everyone is so excited about this year’s calendar. It’s one of our favorite things to do each year!
Good question Barbara (about what ideas we have for the 2010 calendar). Maybe we’ll open that up for discussion sometime on the Ice Cream Journal and see what ideas everyone has.

I love the ice cream that combines soft serve vanilla with italian ice. The raspberry one is the best, especially in the center of a chocolate cake. Yum.
these are some great recepies but I don’t like chocolate anything, my favorite the peppermint cookie it made my mouth water.I do have a complaint I love the black cherry but you stop putting as many cherries as you used to.This will not stop me from buying it.
Very created the drawing
Exellent recipies i tried a few
