The iconic Normal Rockwell painting above, entitled “Freedom from Want,” is certainly appropriate for this time of year. It very much reminds me of my own family and many of the families and ideals that have shaped our home, Lancaster County. But no matter where you are this Thanksgiving, find thanks in the smaller things and everything around you. There are plenty of examples, if you just look hard enough.
On behalf of the Frey family and the entire Turkey Hill Dairy team, Happy Thanksgiving!
Warmest Regards,
Quintin Frey

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who are reading this journal. It is a beautiful day here in Etown, PA, sunny, bright, just the kind of day to give thanks for all we have.
Thank you for the greeting today. May we always remember that every day is one for “thanksgiving” for the blessings, so undeserved, but so richly heaped upon us by our gracious creator. We’re thankful for your ice cream that will grace our slice of pumpkin pie at the family feast today! May your company be blessed to continue to bring us new tastes to delight our family gatherings far into the future!
Greetings to you and yours on this Thanksgiving day. May we always remember that everyday is “thanksgiving” for all the blessings we receive, and may we remember to share with others who may not be so fortunate.
Happy Thanksgiving to the Turkey Hill families. Happy Thanksgiving and a prayer today for the troops overseas along with their families. God Bless America and our freedoms which include eating this great ice cream for dessert!

Everyone please don’t forget out troop overeas on this thanksgiving Day. They are over to keeping us safe from danger. Keep them in your prayer.
Thank you for showing my favorite Thanksgiving painting, the Norman Rockwell. We looked a lot like that yesterday. I had the children and grandchildren and some of our friends over for Thanksgiving yesterday. My husband was a terrific help. Exhausting, but a great family holiday. Dessert included two flavors of Turkey Hill ice cream which was enjoyed by all as pie a la mode.
I have always admired Normal Rockwell and his illustrations. I wonder what things he would produce today if he were here to create them
We had a great Thanksgiving meal. It was topped off by homemade apple pie with a scoop of vanilla Turkey Hill ice cream. A great way to end a great day.
Our Thanksgiving was a bit different this year, as our Mom was in a nursing home(hopefully only temporarily.) We had much to be thankful for anyway because she is still with us at age 94!
THE THANKSGIVING AT OUR FREY HOUSEHOLD WAS MOO DELICIOUS;;;; ,EVEN HAD SOME GREAT TURKEY HILL ICE FOR A TREAT
I’m thankful for Turkey Hill. I’d be even more thankful if you would break into the Winston-Salem, NC market!
I had some leftover Box of Chocolates to top off my Thanksgiving meal.
Great Painting …. hope that those who struggle to have enough to eat many days had enough on thanksgiving. We decided this year to send “special Meal” money for thanksgiving to a soup kitchen that was going to close due to lack of funding. THen the younger members of the family decided that if they had dessert with dinner then they would take their savings and buy their favorite Turkey Hill Icecream for dessert at the soup kitchen. We had a great time making sure those that came through the doors that day at least had freedom from want of a warm meal and companionship.
I am thankful for many things. Good health, family, friends a good job and of course the best ice cream around Turkey Hill.
I hope you had a great holiday, and that the upcoming holiday season keeps you healthy and prosperous. Keep delivering that great ice cream!

I can’t wait until January for Gertrude’s Box of Chocolates!!!
Anybody whom can make you eat ice cream in winter must be the best.
