12 DAYS OF ICE CREAM (DAY 1): SOMETHING BIG IS COMING TO THE TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM LINE-UP!
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
We can’t help ourselves! The 12 Days of Ice Cream celebration was supposed to start this Sunday, but we’re kicking it off two days early with our first entry (and prize) today. We’ll still post our last entry on Christmas, but we won’t be posting entries on the two Sundays before then. Just like last year, we’ll post one new blog entry every day through December 25, and give away one ice cream-related prize with each of those entries. At the end of it all, we’ll choose one comment to receive our grand prize – a one-year supply of Turkey Hill ice cream for you AND a one-year supply of Turkey Hill ice cream for a friend!
First of all, we’d like to give a big welcome to all of our new Ice Cream Journal readers. We’re happy to have you with us (we’re like a big family). Feel free to sign up to have new Ice Cream Journal entries e-mailed directly to you by entering your e-mail addressing in the “Subscribe” section on the right.
By now, those of you on our annual calendar mailing list should have received your 2009 Turkey Hill calendar. If you didn’t, free to add your name to the list by emailing our Customer Relations Department by using the Contact Us feature on our website.
Besides the beautiful photos taken by our customers, you may have also noticed a little something on the “Welcome Additions” page just inside the front cover. The biggest addition to the 2009 Turkey Hill ice cream family is listed on the right and it’s called “Dynamic Duos.”
These unique new flavor combinations feature two different but complimentary ice cream flavors packed into the same container. One flavor on one side and another on the other side. The Dynamic Duos line-up includes Caramel Cone Chaos, CocoNutz, PB Explosion and, the flavor we’re most excited about, Movie Night (popcorn flavored ice cream with candy coated popcorn pieces and vanilla ice cream with caramel swirl).
Dynamic Duos will be hitting shelves in the beginning of next year (we’ll keep you posted) and “interviews” with each flavor will be featured here on the Ice Cream Journal each Monday in January. Stay tuned!
TODAY’S PRIZE: While you’re waiting patiently for our new flavors to hit shelves, you can keep yourself busy (and hungry) with today’s gift, the I Love Ice Cream puzzle. It’s 1,000 pieces of ice cream cones, milkshakes and sundaes (that’s it on the left). One commenter chosen at random from this entry will get it!

Follow us on twitter!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

My absolute favorite food–especially chocolate.
December 19th, 2008 at 10:54 amThis is a very strange coincidence. My daughter, who never wants to do puzzles, asked if we could work on one together. Since last week I have been addicted to the puzzle on the table. This ice cream puzzle would be so much fun! I’ll bet it is easier than figuring out which flavor to choose.
December 19th, 2008 at 10:29 amI love the idea of the Dynamic Duos. My husband likes certain flovors. Wheras I enjoy a different kind at the time. From what you have listed this would solve that problem.
December 19th, 2008 at 12:35 amDROOLING DROOLING STILL DROOLING! WHAT COULD BE A BETTER PRIZE THAN TURKEY HILL? PUZZLE IS GORGEOUS! MY FAVORITE FLAVORS ARE PEPPERMINT AND BAKED APPLE DUMPLING!CAN’T WAIT TO TASTE THE NEW!AGAIN DROOLING DROOLING- YUMMMMMY!
December 18th, 2008 at 10:53 pmCan’t wait to try the Movie Night and all the Dynamic Duos!! Are the Stuff’d ice creams replacing the Creamy Commotions?
December 18th, 2008 at 9:47 pmThe Dynamic Duo’s sound so good. I can’t wait until they hit the shelf. I don’t know which flavor excites me the most – the Caramel Cone Chaos, CocoNutz, PB Explosion or the Movie Night -they all sound incredible. YUM
December 18th, 2008 at 6:15 pmThat puzzle looks good enough to eat.
December 18th, 2008 at 5:37 pmI love ice cream.
December 18th, 2008 at 10:59 amCool puzzle! My kids and I have gotten into the puzzling habit. It’s great fun and a nice change from board games where there’s only one winner. This would be great to win. My kids might insist on having ice cream while putting it together though. Well, I suppose any drips would blend right in!
December 17th, 2008 at 3:06 pmGood to see puzzles have not died off.
December 17th, 2008 at 11:46 amI love Turkey Hill. Thanks for making the holidays special with your amazing ice cream and fun blog. I would love to win an ice cream prize!

December 17th, 2008 at 10:06 amI begin each day with coffee ice cream in my coffee; somewhere along the way (lunch/dinner dessert or a snack) I might have a bowl (or two)! Love puzzles; love that theme; would love to win it.
December 17th, 2008 at 8:26 amIt been a while since I have done puzzle. This puzzle better then some that I have done over the years.
December 17th, 2008 at 12:37 amThat puzzle looks as good as your ice cream. So everytime I put the puzzle together I can buy another 1/2 gallon of ice cream. I’m good at puzzles so I’m going to be eating a lot of ice cream.
December 17th, 2008 at 12:05 amI just tried the carmel duo, it’s great! Keep the great flavors coming Turkey Hill!
December 16th, 2008 at 9:17 pmMy family loves to put together puzzles. And when we need a break, we snack on some Turkey Hill ice cream.
December 16th, 2008 at 7:41 pmI’m submitting entries each day for the chance to win the year supply of ice cream. My dream come true. I’m not submitting my entries under prizes someone else may enjoy more than we will.
December 16th, 2008 at 3:11 pmMy number one food choice–ice cream!

December 15th, 2008 at 4:53 pmtasty looking puzzle!
December 15th, 2008 at 4:21 pmMy children are a bit young for this puzzle but I’m sure they’d love working on it when they’re a bit older. I loved working on puzzles with my mom and hope my kids feel the same way. It was nice way to connect.
December 15th, 2008 at 4:17 pmWHAT A GREAT IDEA FOR A PUZZLE. THE ONLY THING MISSING ARE THE WORDS TURKEY HILL HIDDEN AMONG ALL THE GOOD ICE CREAM. IT REALLY MAKES YOU WANT TO HAVE A DISH OF TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM JUST LOOKING AT IT.
December 15th, 2008 at 4:06 pmALSO THANKS FOR THE GREAT CALENDAR. IT ALWAYS MAKES ME HAPPY TO GET IT AND JUST LOVE LOOKING THROUGH IT. THE COUPONS ARE ALSO AN ADDED TREAT.

December 15th, 2008 at 10:58 amMy mom LOVES puzzles!! This one would be great because it’s calorie free, and that will offset all of the calories from the sundae she would eat while working on it!
December 15th, 2008 at 9:58 amThat’s so cool! I used to get puzzles for Easter instead of candy (braces), and I loved it so much my parents continued to give me jigsaw puzzles. I always love puzzles that are like this… a whole lotta goodness all in one place!
December 15th, 2008 at 9:20 amGreat, love puzzles….and Turkey Hill Ice Cream….Made the peppermint roll and loved it.
December 15th, 2008 at 9:16 amNot a puzzle to do when you are trying to manage your weight… or are all of you ice cream lovers the kind my grandfather was… he had a HUGE bowl of ice cream every nite and was super skinny. I think he was born to metabolize ice cream properly. What a talent to have! God bless!
December 15th, 2008 at 9:15 amWould be hard to put this together without a dish of ice cream there to eat, too!

December 15th, 2008 at 8:43 amKudos to the Dynamic Duos, my stomach is growling for them already. Love the puzzle but one needs to complete the puzzle with a large bowl of Turkey Hill sitting on the side(most likely the bowl will be empty long before the puzzle is done)

December 15th, 2008 at 5:32 amOh we LOVE puzzles! It’s a shame they’ve become an old past-time, but our family does this for a great family time. Add REAL Turkey Hill Ice Cream sundaes to the mix and you have one fun family night!

December 14th, 2008 at 9:00 pmThis puzzle makes me want to run out for another container of ice cream. With 2 teenage boys in the house, it doesn’t last long. Great puzzle.
December 14th, 2008 at 8:56 pmThat is one sweet puzzle! My Mom died in June, but she and my 16 year old daughter Christy would do puzzles galore together. Christy is something of a puzzle savant. She did 100 piece puzzles at 2 and 500 pice 3-D puzzles since she was 5. This would be a wonderful gift for her in memory of Grammy — especially since they loved eating Turkey Hill ice cream together too. Milkshakes got my Mom through her chemo.

December 14th, 2008 at 4:13 pmThanks for the calendar! I used Turkey Hill low fat vanilla ice cream to make a fabulous dessert. Mix 2 pints of the softened ice cream with 1 box instant chocolate fudge sugar free pudding, 1 cup of fat free whipped topping and 4 tablespoons of reg or low fat peanut butter. December 14th, 2008 at 8:02 amThat puzzle would make me so hungry for ice cream!…..Is that so bad?
December 14th, 2008 at 6:22 amLooks like fun, and still love TH ice cream. However, I can not get it unless I buy it on line and the freight is so high. (Not TH fault). So I have to wait until I get back home, which is in Penna to enjoy it. Which I did last weekend. Boy, what a treat!

December 14th, 2008 at 1:52 amThis puzzle would make me hungry.. looks like a tough one too.
The puzzle could best be described as the remaining tasteful confetti after a Turkey Hill parade.
December 14th, 2008 at 1:10 amnice puzzle!
December 14th, 2008 at 1:07 amHave I died and gone to heaven?? Popcorn in my ice cream! I don’t think I could have come up with a better combination. After a long day of classes, hours in the clinic, or working hard at a job, EVERYONE wants t come home and relax. Is there anything more relaxing than a bowl full of porcorn and you favorite movie, or an ice cream sunday and a good book? YES….popcorn and ice cream together. I think my fantasy dreams have just come true. I will certainly be stocking up on that flavor as soon as it hits the freezer shelves. No more time waiting for the popcorn in the microwave and getting your hands all greasy eating out of the bag…now it is conveniently and deliciously combined with ice cream. Easy scoop in a bowl.
WOAH wait, I just notices that Carmel Cone Chaos is another flavor…now I have to choose between the two?!! AHHH, well I guess if that is my biggest problem than I have a really good life

December 12th, 2008 at 11:53 amOh my goodness! I opened up my e-mail this morning and what do I see? Ice cream cones of many flavors staring back at me. Look closer – there’s my favorite flavor of milkshake but where’s the cherry on top? I see an empty cone reminding me of the summertime when my ice cream went “plop.” There’s a yummy sundae and I close my eyes to make a wish. Hoping everyone could stop being so busy and enjoy a dish. So what does this all mean to my surprise? The Twelve Days of Ice Cream have finally arrived! Share a scoop or two and Happy Holidays to all of You!
