12 DAYS OF ICE CREAM (DAY 5): ANOTHER NEW ADDITION TO THE TURKEY HILL FAMILY

Posted by Turkey Hill Team on December 18th, 2008

Like Romeo and Juliet or peanut butter and jelly, cake and ice cream are meant to be together, which is why ice cream cakes are pretty much the perfect party food. That’s also why, after several years of considering the idea, Turkey Hill has developed its very own ice cream cakes!

The new ice cream cakes are made with swirled chocolate and vanilla ice cream, loaded with chocolate cake crunchies and topped with a special ice cream icing. They’re available in an 8-inch round size ($18 and serves 12 to 14) and a quarter sheet cake ($28 and serves 16 to 20). The cakes also come with a customizable top, to allow you to create your own personal message.

Right now, the treats are only available in select Turkey Hill Minit Markets in the Lancaster and York, PA area and at all Shoprite locations, but we’ll be expanding distribution into grocery stores wherever our ice cream is sold later in 2009. Check this page for specific information about where you can find them.

In the meantime, go ahead and start thinking about things to celebrate and reasons to buy an ice cream cake. How ‘bout celebrating the arrival of ice cream cakes? Seems like a good enough reason for a party to us!

TODAY’S PRIZE: While you’re enjoying a slice of ice cream cake, you can play today’s prize: Ice Cream-opoly! Game pieces include a sundae, a banana split, a scoop and, of course, a cow. One commenter chosen at random from this entry will win this sweet game. Don’t forget to pass “SCOOP” and collect your $200.

With a family birthday coming up…this will be perfect!

  150. Meghan Scannell says:

As a college student myself, I am one of the millions of young adults around America that cram for test through the wee hours or the morning on some days, and stay up all night partying on others. I also know that both events, although very different require sugar for energy. Sugar to keep you away and alert to stare at boring textbooks, and sugar for energy to dance the night away. I would say the majority of my friends eat candy and ice cream a lot during finals week, and it is also the most popular food for birthdays and parties…so this cake is the best creation ever. Especially since college kids are not the bet cooks or might not have full kitchens and ovens to cook in, they may just have a mini-fridge freezer in their dorms. So buying an ice cream cake is a great incentive to use for study break time, or to get a friend to celebrate a special occasion. For this reason I am going to try and get this Turkey hill product on our campus! I work at an on campus convenience store where kids can use “bonus bucks” through their meal plan to get food (using their ID so they don’t even need to carry cash!) Currently we sell Hershey’s ice cream, but I’m sure that most college kids would agree that Turkey Hill ice cream is sooooo much better and has so many more delicious flavors. So, I don’t think it will eb hard to convince my supervisor to order this cake…and I am going to start a petition or list of college kids who would like to see our store stocked with Turkey Hill ice cream (especially the cakes)….I can do this easily by posting the list in the front at the cash register, and kids can sign as I am bagging their groceries. The idea is perfect and hopefully we will have these Turkey Hill cakes in our freezers soon!

  151. Karen Justin Rachel says:

We love the monolopy almost as much as we love turkey hill – we’ll not quite.

  152. Karen Justin Rachel says:

  154. scott p says:
