Inspired by a few comments from Ice Cream Journal readers, we’ve re-written the lyrics to “The 12 Days of Christmas” in a song we call The 12 Days of Ice Cream. Enjoy!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
I HATE that song! I’m a piano teacher and have banned almost every student from ever learning it. Imagine starting to teach holiday songs right after Halloween to 20 – 30 youngsters who require corrections in notes and rhythm, fingering and the constant question: Where does it go NEXT? It’s enough to give anyone a bad case of the Bah Humbugs! Soothe my soul with a bowl of Turkey Hill EggNog!
We have two trees. One with all the coordinated stuff and one with all the fun stuff. This is sure to fit in on our fun tree. It would be right at home among the cats, ducks, seashells, fish, crab, etc. We need to add some food!
Now that’s a song to sing all year round! It might be more motivating to learn for my kids than the original. Now I know how you come up with all those flavors – you are all so very creative!

Turkey Hill has the best designers! The ornament is beautiful, and the calendar is so nicely put together too.

Out of all the flavors and ideas your bannana split is still the ultimate, it picks me up when I am tired, hungry and gives ma a fantastic uplift
Happy Holidays
That 12th day sounds like a great ice cream buffet! Thanks for the song!
Moose Tracks in a waffle bowl sounds good for dinner!
There’s no better ice cream than Turkey Hill!
sending to everyone on my email buddy list! Thanks
there’s no such thing as the 12 days of christmas in this house…we have turkey hill 365 days of the year!
I think I just found heaven in a song!
I think the song is cute….
On the 13th day, gave a diet book…..
On the 12 days of Christmas I ate Turkey Hill ice cream. On thirteenth day I
enjoyed a Turkey Hill ice cream cake and
sang “The 12 Days of Ice Cream.”
What a great song…but it should go on longer than 12 days.
Good tune, makes me hungry for some of that Turkey Hill ice cream!
Cute ornament. It would look great on my tree!
What’s the scoop, when will the Turkey Hill Team release The 12 Days of Ice Cream CD?
The song is cute
Peace on Earth comes with a warm piece of gingerbread and egg nog ice cream.
Twelve Days of christmas is okey .But I,LL take the rest of the 365 days plus the twelve days to enjoy all the great Turkey Hill products could not survive on just twelve days of Turkey HILL TREATS
A bowl of ice cream during a snow storm is a great treat
+On the 13th day of Christmas my true love gave to me PEPTO so i could try again to taste each treat again.
I remember how my piano teacher used to not let me play that song because of how long it took…pretty clever twist on it!
to person whom come up with this song;;;;hope he is eating turkey hill ice cream now, ,your making a delightful urge for the 12 days of ice cream;;;;;
What a pretty ornament! I love your egg nog ice cream this time of year.
I serve it in festive dessert dishes, and showcase it in our punch bowl, with egg nog on Christmas Eve. That’s a tradition that I inherited from my Mom (smile).
Thank you for this contest fun! Ho…Ho…Ho…
Your ornament is really nice. I would be proud to add it to my collection !
Yum, thanks for sharing warm gingerbread and egg nog ice cream. Maybe the song should be long enough to include all the yummy turkey hill flavors
Well, I think I gained 20 pounds just reading the ’12 Days of Ice Cream’. And….I love Egg Nog Turkey Hill, but I haven’t gotten any yet. Neat ornament, too !!!
I could probably master the first three days in one sitting. Once we get to the fourth day I’d be full.
Wow! That was so refreshing and Tempting. Now I am going out for ice cream for dessert!
nice ornament!
It’s very pretty and I like the song!
Peace on Earth and Eggnog ice cream! Merry Christmas to that!!
Cute song! Nice ornament! Thanks Turkey Hill!
Shazam! That ornament is one for my tree…
Great song! I would love to add this ornament to my tree!
The recipes are a lot of work. I like simply putting combinations together. The combination of mincemeat pie with a scoop of Turkey Hill eggnog ice cream will make it impossible to resist a second helping. Try it, you will like it.
What combinations do you put together?
That’s a cute song!
I was sooooo tempted to buy your bottled egg nog at the grocery store today, but 64 ounces is too dangerous to have around just for me. Howzabout offering it in pints next year? (Or, maybe I need to find more eggnoggy friends.)
Nice Ornament.MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Cute Song, lovely ornament. But best of all GOOD Turkey Hill Ice cream. OH SO GOOD! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.
There is no way I could eat my way through all those 12 days of ice cream. I would give it the old collage try and buy another freezer to store up the rest!
I know I’d rather be eating the ice cream than singing….. but I too would never be able to eat it all at one sitting. Love that ice cream, Merry Christmas to all.
What a great song. I got all the family together to sing and enjoy some Turkey Hill. Happy Holidays!
We are having a big Christmas party with this song and the best ice cream in the world.
HO HO HO and a bottle of Turkey Hill Egg Nog to go along with it! Merry Christmas!
The 12 days if ice cream is so perfect— one can taste those flavors as you sing!!!
The calender is great—- I love it all!!
Carol
Creative song…does make me hungry for some ice-cream!
The 12 days of Christmas have never been yummier! They should make it the 31 days of Christmas!
love it!
Great Song – Celebrating with ice cream is always good.
MMMm,,, a Turkey Hill milkshake made with the TH egg nog and whatever flavor of ice cream you like,,, toasting the holidays, admiring your tree with the TH ornament hanging on it! The perfect Turkey Hill Christmas!
Lovely ornament!! Is it the first year for the ornament??
Very cute! We just had a family ice cream sing along. Is it wrong that I now want ice cream for breakfast?
I’m glad you guys were inspired but to finish your version my cousins thought it would be a cool contest for college.
My version completed
On the 12th day of ice cream Turkey Hill gave to me
12 Amish Hamerring
11 questions for Ernie
10 TH staff a-milking
9 different Turkey Hill Flavors
8 Bloggers committing
7 Lancansters Mooing
6 Ice cream cakes
5 golden waffle cones
4 ice cream puzzles
2 christmas green ice cream scoopers and
Some Turkey Hill Ice cream for my Chrismas tree.
Happy singing.
One could get fat on your song, but I love it!
Congratulations to whoever came up with these new words to an old song. You should add the newly worded song to your 2010 calendar. The ornament would be a great addition to anyone’s tree. And a bowl of Turkey Hill Egg Nog ice cream would top off a great Christmas day meal.
my my, that song is so filling-will have to take it a day at a time-thanks for the calendar
Oh boy! I’m full just thinking about all that ice cream. But I still have room for the banana split ice cream
Whoops
It should be
4 ice cream wrestlers
3 ice cream puzzles
Lol I’m suffering from a brain freeze, after shovelling all that snow.
That’s a lot of icecream (add toppings)
Wow! that is a lot of ice cream, but since it is Turkey Hill we would give it a try. Then we’d need a few extra miles on the treadmill. Or not, since we’ve been shoveling snow like crazy people!
To all who got snow, have fun and be safe. Ho! Ho!! Ho!!!
Good Morning Turkey Hill and fans,
I will sing any song for a prize and turkey hills ice cream (Egg Nog) in a turkey hill costum. In the winter time.
Good Morning Turkey Hill and fans,
I will sing any song for a prize and turkey hills ice cream (Egg Nog)
The ornament would be a great addition to our tree… it’s done in ornaments that our kid’s made or that we have collected from out vacations or family has given us. it’s like a mmemory tree that I wish I could keep up all year.
Congratulations on coming up with the very clever 12 days of ice cream. That must have taken alot of work but it was worth it. I’ll have my grandchildren sing it along with our other Christmas favorites on Christmas Eve.
I’m always game for 12 days of ice cream! I have a spot on my tree where that ornament will look great.
Oh, what fun! But not quite as much fun as actually eating Turkey Hill ice cream. I just finished my first container of Eggnog ice cream for this season. Can’t wait to get more!
Love the song — Love the ice cream –Love the ornament — Love Turkey Hill!
Ooooo – please enter me! I collect Christmas ornaments and Egg Nog ice cream sounds amazing!
The song is so much fun
Happy Holidays
Love collectible ornaments..it’d be great on our “leaning” tree! Happy Holidays!
Great song – I’ll share it with my sister in Texas!
There is nothing better than a tree made of ice cream ornaments unless of course it’s really made of ice cream!
The song is great and I love Turkey Hill egg nog ice cream. I put egg nog ice cream in my egg nog coffee instead of milk. Merry Christmas.
GREAT SONG TH STAFF! made me smile … in might become a Christmas favorite if you use it in a TH advertizement!
The TH calendar arrived in the mail today! Thank you very much!
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to all at TH
Just came back from grocery shopping – 4 containers of TH ice cream included of course. Wouldn’t be the holidays without it!
When you get to 6 Duetto flavors, Stop till I eat them all, then jump to 12 moose tracks to fill my greedy belly. Love them all.
There’s always room for a new ornament and some TH!
The ornament looks very pretty.
I’d love to have that ornament hanging from my tree.
Turkey Hill Ice cream, ornament and the best Turkey Hill orange tea. You’ve got it all. Merry Christmas to all.
The song is great and the ornament would sure look good with all my other collector ornaments on the tree. Merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m glad that Turkey Hill openly celebrates the Christmas season. Many companies do not like to mention Christmas. They will say,”Happy Holidays”,instead.Christmas means a great deal to millions of Americans. The Christmas season honors the birth of our Lord.Corporations should not fear wishing their customers a Merry Christmas.
I loved the song, I live in the south now where I cannot get Turkey Hill ice cream . I have to drive 122 miles to get to it. Thanks for the memories and yes I think it should be put on next years calender
Very cute lyrics! Nice to have a bit of fun with carols. That’s one of my favorites.
We really liked the song. But we would really like to eat all the good and delish ice cream!!!!!! Yummm….
Original vanilla,I guess thats me.
It must be CHRISTIAN! A Christmas ornament “Imported from Lancaster
County” & not China .
P.S. Opps Christmas ( not Christian )
My grandson loved singing the song so much he and his grandfather had to have a bowl of Turkey Hill ice cream when he finished–he liked the ornament too.
I like the ornament, but I’d like the Eggnog Ice Cream better!! YUM!!
I HAVE JUST THE SPOT RIGHT UP FRONT FOR THE TURKEY HILL ORNANMENT WHERE WE ALL CAN SEE IT WHILE WE ARE EATING OUR EGG-NOG ICE CREAM
My kids insisted we sing all the verses. I had to drop out for a few as my voice was going. It was a lot of fun! Yay!
Keep the Christ in Chrismas and we will keep peace on earth as the ornament says as we eat our egg nog ice cream.
catchy song
The ornament would like nice in my collection. I’ve never tasted egg nog ice cream but would love to try some.
You know what is better than 12 days of ice cream??? How about 31 days of ice cream…that is ice cream for the whole month of December leading up until the New Year. Now that is something truly worth celebrating, Why make it just about Christmas? Doesn’t that leave out Chanukah, Kwanza and other religious holidays? But its okay, because December has 31 days for everyone so how about
On the 31st day before the new ice cream year,
My true love Turkey Hill gave to me…
31 premium ice cream flavors,
30 bowls of sugar free frozen treats,
29 all natural ingredients,
28 candy toppings,
27 glasses of Turkey Hill egg nog,
26 gulps of cool moos,
25 Turkey Hill gift certificates,
25 pages of ice cream bloggings,
23 holiday recipes,
22 pounds of Venice flavors,
21 spoons of sprinkles,
20 Lancaster county secret recipes
19 bowls of duetto,
18 ice cream scoopers,
17 ice cream contests!
16 delectable pie recipes,
15 ice cream sundaes,
14 light ice cream flavors (for the new year diet)
13 ice cream shakes,
12 ice cream tins to drum on,
11 flavors of ice tea to wash the cream down,
10 leaping cows running through the website,
9 dreams of dancing frozen treats,
7 swimming smoothies,
6 creamy commotions,
5 limited edition wonders!
4 different ice cream sandwich bars,
3 flavors of sherbet,
2 types of ice cream cakes,
1 Giant Cow to produce all the ice cream!
The Turkey Hill 12 Days is great, but send an extra carton to Meghan for her 31 days song.
By the way, I was finishing off the small bit of root beer duetto in the carton and added a small scoop of banana split to it. Bad idea. Don’t mix those two great flavors even though they are adjacent in the song.
cool, would also love to try the egg nog ice cream
I would love to win this ornament. It is so nice. It would look great on my tree and constantly remind me of my love for Turkey Hill ice cream throughout the holiday season and beyond. This is a great giveaway. Thanks.
Is there any Egg Nog ice cream left to give away? Our local grocery store had none in stock and said the warehouse had no more to give them.
You really ought to add the words Egg Nog before Turkey Hill ice cream in your lyrics.
TH Ice Cream & Christmas, WOW!
Very cute poem!
Makes me want to run out and get some turkey Hill ice cream right now. I tkink I will.
Certainly ‘tis the season for Egg Nog
Good song
Well, If I can’t win the grand prize, I guess I would settle for everything listed in the song as a consolation prize. That would cheer me up a little bit.
I don’t see any prize listed for today, but I would like to get an entry in today for that grand prize which I would enjoy so much.
my 94 year old grandma loves turkey hill black cherry ice cream sure she would love the ornament for her tree
The eggnog flavor is super-but I think rum raisin is yummy too. I’d love the ornament on my tree to remind everybody how great Turkey Hill is. The eggnog drink is also pretty spectacular too!
If more people try Turkey Hill ice cream, it might sooth the savage beast and we will all have “Peace on Earth”.
Yes! I want it all.
The ornament would be a great addition to my collection, and I would love to try the Egg Nog ice cream. Sounds good!
Eggnog ice cream sounds like my hubby would really like it.
I have that beautiful ornament on my tree! My wife gave it to me two Christmases ago.
wow wouldnt that be nice
I loved the lyrics! Kudos to the writer.
I do so want that ornament for my tree, it is beautiful!!!
That ornament would look great on our tree. The song is cool too!
Love the ornament and the song should be on I Tunes.
I read those lyrics as a challenge.
Two great tastes that taste great together.
which one do I love more: 12 days of ice cream or 31 days of ice cream…
this is a no brainer, 31 days of course, but the 12 days are cute too
cute ornament!
The only thing better than singing that song is to have all of that stuff under my tree for Christmas, better run for the freezer quick.
Wow, I think Megan S. deserves todays prize!! Good Job. Merry Christmas! Amy
Would love it for our tree!
interesting ornament
and once again here again
oh how sweet and good
a very neat song my grandsons were having fun singing with me,
I really like those ice cream New Year’s resolutions. I’ll start with breakfast – vanilla ice cream on my breakfast waffle.
…
This blog is fantastic. How did you come up witht he concept?…
Oh!!! How SWEETLY FANTASTIC your 12 DAYS OF ICE CREAM read!!!
I’m an AVID ice cream lover, too.
