Those same 96 million containers of Turkey Hill ice cream line-up end-to-end would stretch 10,606 miles. I am ready to help them line up from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Los Angeles but I only need to go there one time and back. someone else will have to do the other 3 1/2 times.

Enough of the statistics, just keep making it as I know I am one of the biggest eaters of TH ice cream. Saw your red and white duetto cow at Country Store in Mt. Joy this week. Looks as good as the ice cream tastes.

36 million gallons!!! Is that an average per year or just this past year? How do you know when to increase the volume? Despite the economy I will bet Turkey Hill ice cream is not declining in sales. We know a good deal when we see it.

My hubby was happy to reads Barry's blog since it save him the time to calculate it. He also was going to use the 8 ounces since he remembers as a kid when the Good Humor man came it was rare for someone to buy the 4 ounce cup unless it was for someone under 5 years. He alway got the large 8 ounce one. A lot of people are missing out on the TH since we have TH about 5 days a week at 8 ounces which for the 2 of us is 20 servings or a 1000 for the year. I guess that most of us bloggers also polish off about 500 serving a year so we are hogging over 100 people's worth of the TH

Well I know for a fact my brother and myself are way over the amount stated. I buy 3-4 containers of Turkey Hill a week, since my brother asks for ice cream 2-3 times a day. At 82 and disabled I give it to him, ice cream is his enjoyment. Oh my dog loves Turkey Hill. Don't forget to include animals that love Turkey Hill in your estimates.LOL. Linda

oh, floating on a raft, with turkey hill ice cream in each hand, on a warm summer day, is a nice thought, considering it's 16 degrees outside right now.

I was food shopping yesterday and saw peanut brittle as a flavor! I never saw this flavor before, although was disappointed they only had it in the sugar free kind.

good point thomas!

remember the definition of a serving size: 4 oz or 1/2 cup. i bet lots of us eat (much) more than that at a time! a 'serving' means that a pint container, for example, serves 4. who can eat just 4 oz at a time?

so if a person actually eats twice that amt at a time, a cup (8 oz), that's 2 servings in a pint, 4 servings in a qt, 6 servings in the new 1.5 qt size TH box. if 2 people per house dig into that box, that box probably survives just 3-5 days max in a fridge at home. for the TH fans on this blog that means a likely 2 boxes (6 servings/person) per week. waaay over 4 servings per year!

here's some more arithmetic:

1,152,000,000 4 oz servings should probably be 576,000,000 8 oz servings
divided by 52 weeks in a year =
11,076,923 servings/wk
divided by 6 servings/wk/person =
1,846,153.8* loyal TH fans in your northeast US territory. with about 75 of us on this blog somewhat regularly.

* which is the same as 96,000,000 containers divided by 52 weeks, the number of containers made/wk. divided by 5 working days/wk = 369,230 containers per day from your one factory in lancaster county. that's a lotta cows!

TH: i was wondering. of those 96 million boxes, are any sold under another (private label) name besides TH, such as under the Kroger name?
