DID YOU KNOW: SUNDAY IS ICE CREAM DAY

Did you know more ice cream is sold on Sunday than any other day of the week? We’re guessing that includes ice cream sold at ice cream stands (which is, of course, then eaten on Sunday) and ice cream purchased during the weekend trip to the grocery store. But if you include ice cream purchased at the store, which is then consumed during other days of the week, on which day of the week is the most ice cream eaten?

Maybe it’s still Sunday. After all, when you buy some new ice cream at the store, you can’t wait to get it home and try it out, right? Or maybe it’s Monday. Most of us don’t like Mondays, and there’s no better way to wrap up the toughest day of the week than with a big bowl of ice cream, right?

Monday’s a great day to be “Ice Cream Day”,, just because it’s Monday,, but I’m sure we could come up with excuses to make EVERY day of the week, an ice cream day! lol Infact, who needs an excuse? Morning, noon or nite, any day of the week,, is a good time to eat ice cream!

A lot of agreeing today. First We agree with Barbara G. on the “Box of Chocolate”. Since we are retired and people ask what we do on weekends we tell the “we are retired and every day is a weekend” and the same goes for eating TH every day is now a Sunday agreeing with Tom, Edie, Susan etc.

  12. Dani says:

I’m with Thomas… I think EVERY day is Ice Cream day. If I honestly think about my ice cream eating habits, I don’t think I’m helping to contribute to that “more on Sunday” average. :)

  13. Bob Kessler Jr says:

On Sunday you sit down and can relax at dinnertime. You haven’t come home from work or school. There’s no rushing through dinner to get somewhere. After dinner you can wait and have dessert at your leisure. What a way to end the weeknd with some Turkey Hill ice cream.

Ice Cream was always a special treat when I was growing up…with 12 kids in the family my mom had to give us something that we all enjoyed…thus ice cream treats once every two weeks along with the cones! Now, I eat ice cream anytime I want–whether at home or after a meal at a restaurant–it always tastes great! So many flavors to choose from and so many wonderful memories of home.

Every day is icecream day in our house, but if you view ice cream as a stress reliever, my vote is for friday as the day when icecream is most consumed.

  29. Robbin L. Netz says:

Hmmm. I wonder why. Is it possible that many people that attend church on Sunday often have ice cream socials on Sunday’s, many churches have functions on Sunday evenings where ice cream would be served, and Sunday is often a day to invite people over for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Ice cream being the universal popular dessert is often served since it is so easy, and enjoyed by all. What a great way to start the week! P.S. the cone in the picture gave me a serious craving…that looks delicious!

  30. Linda Leffler says:

I believe Sunday is the biggest Ice Cream selling day because everyone stocks up for the week. I do. Today I went to the Giant Store and bought 8 containers of Turkey Hill, couldn’t make up my mind what flavors, so started with my 8 favorites. I know they won’t last the whole week, but the store is very close to my home. Enjoy TH now matter what day it is. Linda

  45. Marg says:

Over the holidays, I made the following mix: It was delicious/deliouss: 1-2 cups of light vanilla Turkey Hill Ice Cream, 1/4 cup candy cane peppermint (rectangular) candies, few tsp water. Crush the peppermint candies, place in small cup, add water and microwave for 1-2 minutes. Pour on ice cream; enjoy. Without Microwave: You can toss the crushed candies in the ice cream, place in freezer for 20-30 minutes. Voila, top with cool whip, syrup, a cherry and you’re good to go.
