Did you know more ice cream is sold on Sunday than any other day of the week? We’re guessing that includes ice cream sold at ice cream stands (which is, of course, then eaten on Sunday) and ice cream purchased during the weekend trip to the grocery store. But if you include ice cream purchased at the store, which is then consumed during other days of the week, on which day of the week is the most ice cream eaten?
Maybe it’s still Sunday. After all, when you buy some new ice cream at the store, you can’t wait to get it home and try it out, right? Or maybe it’s Monday. Most of us don’t like Mondays, and there’s no better way to wrap up the toughest day of the week than with a big bowl of ice cream, right?

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
EVERYDAY is ice cream day.
Ice cream is always special, especially TH and right for any day of the week.
I agree with Thomas that EVERYDAY is ice cream day
I think everyday is ice cream day because it is so good. I like eating my ice cream on my Friday because it is a great treat for making it through the week. I love Turkey Hill.
Anyday can be a Sundae/Sunday with Turkey Hill! Yummy for the Tummy!
Monday’s a great day to be “Ice Cream Day”,, just because it’s Monday,, but I’m sure we could come up with excuses to make EVERY day of the week, an ice cream day! lol Infact, who needs an excuse? Morning, noon or nite, any day of the week,, is a good time to eat ice cream!
I wish Gertrude Hawk “Box of Chocolate” would be available year round. It is delicious!
I would imagine more ice cream would be bought at stands on weekends, especially in the summer when people go for rides or the beach, etc. but at home, every day is ice cream day.
that cone sure looks yummy!
What can I say ?
A lot of agreeing today. First We agree with Barbara G. on the “Box of Chocolate”. Since we are retired and people ask what we do on weekends we tell the “we are retired and every day is a weekend” and the same goes for eating TH every day is now a Sunday agreeing with Tom, Edie, Susan etc.
I’m with Thomas… I think EVERY day is Ice Cream day. If I honestly think about my ice cream eating habits, I don’t think I’m helping to contribute to that “more on Sunday” average.
On Sunday you sit down and can relax at dinnertime. You haven’t come home from work or school. There’s no rushing through dinner to get somewhere. After dinner you can wait and have dessert at your leisure. What a way to end the weeknd with some Turkey Hill ice cream.
That ice cream cone with multi colored sprinkles or jimmies looks so good. It doesn’t matter which day of the week it is. Bring it on.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday……………it doesn’t matter….every day is a great day for Turkey Hill ice cream!! It would be great to try a different TH flavor each day!
Ice Cream was always a special treat when I was growing up…with 12 kids in the family my mom had to give us something that we all enjoyed…thus ice cream treats once every two weeks along with the cones! Now, I eat ice cream anytime I want–whether at home or after a meal at a restaurant–it always tastes great! So many flavors to choose from and so many wonderful memories of home.
Good Morning to all,
I eat ice cream seven day a week. I do know that when I was little my mother would buy us all ice cream on sunday. We look forward to sunday because we would have ice cream. I can eat ice cream all day. That is how much I love turkey ice cream. Turkey Hill you are the best.
EVERY DAY IS ICE CREAM DAY!
When a child Sunday was icecream treat day. now as an adult icecream day is any day.
All 365 days of the year should be ice cream day.
I don`t need a special day! Every day is a good day for Turkey Hill !!!!
i know their is ice cream month in the summer, but i had no idea their is a day in the winter. every day is ice cream day at our house.
I eat ice cream any day of the week.
I’ll eat ice cream on any day that has “day” in its name.
yes ,i knew sunday ,is most day everyone eats icream, but turkey hill ice cream is so good;;;;;;;;;;;;;
When I was a kid, we would pile into the car in the church parking lot, then drive directly to the store for a half-gallon of ice cream. That was our Sunday treat.
Sunday is the day more ice cream is sold??? Tell my husband that one when he buys ice cream almost everyday of the week–no matter the season!!!!
Every day is icecream day in our house, but if you view ice cream as a stress reliever, my vote is for friday as the day when icecream is most consumed.
Hmmm. I wonder why. Is it possible that many people that attend church on Sunday often have ice cream socials on Sunday’s, many churches have functions on Sunday evenings where ice cream would be served, and Sunday is often a day to invite people over for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Ice cream being the universal popular dessert is often served since it is so easy, and enjoyed by all. What a great way to start the week! P.S. the cone in the picture gave me a serious craving…that looks delicious!
I believe Sunday is the biggest Ice Cream selling day because everyone stocks up for the week. I do. Today I went to the Giant Store and bought 8 containers of Turkey Hill, couldn’t make up my mind what flavors, so started with my 8 favorites. I know they won’t last the whole week, but the store is very close to my home. Enjoy TH now matter what day it is. Linda
As a child we would go for an ice cream cone for a treat on an occasional Sunday,so I believe it to be true.
Everyday is ice cream day in our house!
We eat ice cream everyday in my house!
every day is a great day for Ice Cream!
You haven’t lived until you have had Turkey Hill ice cream, the best .
Any day can be an ice cream day. It is one of my favorite treats at the end of a day or on a special trip.
when I was growing up …in Lancaster Co…we would always eat ice cream…and pretzels..on Sunday!!!
Everyday is Ice Cream Day, but with the increasing prices of Ice Cream…Maybe…only Sunday will be Ice Cream Day !
I want that ice cream in the picture! And yes, every day is ice cream day…
Sunday, Monday and always is ice cream day at our house
Any day is ice cream day at our house!!!We’d eat it for breakfast if we could. Just love it.
Any day is good for icecream from turkery Hill. Yet for breakfast it’s the best. Better than cornflakes.
I would not have guessed Sunday, since we very rarely do on sunday. Thanks for the interesting facts.
Dot
I think we are pulling down the average here. We need to up our Sunday ice cream consumption!
Over the holidays, I made the following mix: It was delicious/deliouss: 1-2 cups of light vanilla Turkey Hill Ice Cream, 1/4 cup candy cane peppermint (rectangular) candies, few tsp water. Crush the peppermint candies, place in small cup, add water and microwave for 1-2 minutes. Pour on ice cream; enjoy. Without Microwave: You can toss the crushed candies in the ice cream, place in freezer for 20-30 minutes. Voila, top with cool whip, syrup, a cherry and you’re good to go.
Everyday is Ice Cream Day here also, Especially for my 17 month old great granddaughter. I give her it as a reward every evening if she eats her dinner. She hasn’t found a flavor yet that she didn’t like..
