A RECIPE FOR YOUR VALENTINE (OR YOURSELF!)
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
We discovered these heart warming treats over on the All Things Ice Cream blog (and she found them on Pinch My Salt). They’re called “Naughty Ice Cream Sandwiches,” but we just call them delicious. They’re made with thinly cut chocolate brownies with layers of vanilla ice cream nestled in between. Check out the recipe at either of the links above and prepare to make one special Valentine very happy!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

February 15th, 2009 at 6:45 pmNot just for Valentine’s Day! I can see this at an engagement party, a bridal shower, anniversary party, celebrating successful cardiac surgery, all sorts of occassions. They look like a real pleaser. Yum!

February 15th, 2009 at 7:25 amI’ve been eating a scoop of TH IC on my brownies for quite a while. But now I can add the ‘extras’ and make a super desert for just adults! I also make the brownies in a pie pan since I have a friend who absolutely loves the ‘end pieces’ but never thought to use the jelly roll pan for the crispyness he likes! Thanks for all your ideas!

February 14th, 2009 at 3:16 pmI can’t make too many since Turkey Hill
ice cream has reduced the size of it’s
containers to 1.5 quarts. I bet they are
really tasty.
WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA. I JUST BAKED BROWNIES. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS TAKE THE ICE CREAM OUT OF THE FREEZER. YOU MADE MY DAY.
February 14th, 2009 at 1:36 pmPaula is right, mint chocolate chip goes great with brownies. Also I can think of cherry vanilla for its touch of red.
February 14th, 2009 at 1:26 pmyummy

February 14th, 2009 at 11:40 amLooking at the recipe this is a potent brownie – Bailey’s Irish Cream and Kahlua. Throw in Turkey Hill ice cream and you have the perfect Valentine’s dessert.

My new novel THE DROWNING POOL will also be published at the end of this month by Five Star/Gale. So this February is really special for me.

February 14th, 2009 at 7:43 amI make my own little heart our of any cookies dough. I do use turley Hill ice cream. Did you know you can make one large one by cuting out a larger heart and use can put tow knod of turkey hill ice cream between the baked cookies. I do like your recipe.
Looks delicious…I like the idea of baking the brownies in a jellyroll pan.
February 14th, 2009 at 7:27 amThese cookies look so delicious, I will be making them this morning, diet or not. Thanks. Linda
February 14th, 2009 at 7:16 amMy husband will love this treat tomorrow–his two favorite desserts–ice cream and brownies!!
February 13th, 2009 at 4:18 pma local pizza shop has a heart-shaped pizza tomorrow. the large cookie kiosk in the mall used to cut their large (12-15″) cookies into hearts on V Day. so a heart-shaped ice cream sandwich is appropriate. you could probably substitute your favorite 4″ cookies for the fresh brownies.
