A couple announcements in this post. First of all, welcome to all of our new readers who have visited us over the past week to vote in our second annual Ultimate Flavor Tournament. The tournament is shaping up well and we’re so happy to see so many new voices in the comments here on the Ice Cream Journal. Keep the comments coming!

Also, those of you down South will be happy to hear that we’ve recently inked a deal with Bi Lo grocery stores to carry Turkey Hill ice cream in their locations throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Our friends at Bi Lo should start stocking Turkey Hill products very soon, so keep an eye out for them!

Finally, how ’bout this beautiful spring weather we’ve been having lately? The sun has been shining here in Lancaster County, and even though it’s been chilly on a few days, you can definitely tell that spring is in the air!

Hi-ho for Bi-Lo! Thank you so much Turkey Hill for once again not letting me down, and exceeding my expectations. While I do love vacationing down south, as my family goes to South Carolina every summer, I have to say that while I love the warm weather, gorgeous beaches, and the night-life, I have had to pay the price with second-string ice cream. The 16 hour car trip is too long to pack my own from home, and the grocery stores remain stocked with Perry’s,m Breyers, Edy’s and local brands but no Turkey Hill. I am online right now searching the web for the closest Bi-Lo to Charleston South Carolina. And even if it is an hour out of our way, I am begging my Mom to stop on the way down because its that important to me. Other ice just don’t satisfy me…they are too icey, or get freezer burn, or leave a bad aftertaste…they are not creamy and loaded with other tastey treats like Turkey Hill. I am beaming right now with happiness. Would it be possible to work out a deal with the Piggly-Wiggly grocery stores in the South, so that they could sell Turkey Hill products too? That would just be the cherry on my ice-cream Sunday…or should I say “ice-cream Saturday” since I will be having myself one soon after lunch. Yum!

  33. Sarah says:

  34. Marion says:

My daughter lives in Burlington, N. C., and would be thrilled if Turkey Hill came to her area. I hope it won’t be long. There is no Bi Lo in her area!

  35. debbie F. says:

I,m sure everyone down south will love TH as much as we do. After looking at the painting I must plan a trip to Lancaster this summer…We used to make the trip every summer but haven’t done so for about three years.

  36. Nancy N says:

So glad you’re moving South. How about Orlando? Do you have any TH in that area?

  37. Ann says:

You just made our summer vacation better! Now when we visit South Carolina we won’t miss our TH. We can simply go to the BI-LO store and get some. Thanks so Much!
