A couple announcements in this post. First of all, welcome to all of our new readers who have visited us over the past week to vote in our second annual Ultimate Flavor Tournament. The tournament is shaping up well and we’re so happy to see so many new voices in the comments here on the Ice Cream Journal. Keep the comments coming!
Also, those of you down South will be happy to hear that we’ve recently inked a deal with Bi Lo grocery stores to carry Turkey Hill ice cream in their locations throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Our friends at Bi Lo should start stocking Turkey Hill products very soon, so keep an eye out for them!
Finally, how ’bout this beautiful spring weather we’ve been having lately? The sun has been shining here in Lancaster County, and even though it’s been chilly on a few days, you can definitely tell that spring is in the air!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Turkey Hill needs to come to Arkansas!
we are lucky in our areas the turkey hill store is near us in williamsport,
Party cake in every store!
Is that a mound of potatoes in the photo?
Turkey Hill needs to team up with either Harris Teeter, Food Lion and/or Lowe’s Foods, I am in the south (North Carolina) and we have no BI-LO’S in this area. I orginally from Pa. and have been asking Turkey Hill to come to my area for 7 years.
The people of the south are so lucky to have even more Turkey Hill. I hope you can partner with some stores in the west so I can find Turkey Hill near me.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is my favorite!
what is that- a painting or a photo? gotta be a painting or my computer is going-Turkey Hill marches on-you’ve made a lot of Southerners very happy
I love the painting. Is it an original?
Turkey Hill is the best ice cream! Glad you’re branching out.
My friend that I e-mail down South will be soooo happy TH will be in her area, she was originally from Pa. Glad to here TH will be branching out. Linda

Love Turky Hill, I’m glad my food stores carry it in NJ! Eagles Touchdown is my favorite flavor!
My friends in Greenville, So. Carolina will be so happy to be able to get Turkey Hill products. Last summer while visiting here, they had Turkey Hill Moose Tracks and iced tea and commented on how delicious it was. We are lucky here in NY to have all Turkey Hill products in all our grocery stores.
Spring is definitly in the air here too. Saw 3 robins the other day so that’s a good sign.
my friends that live in NC, that used to live in york, can now enjoy TH PRODUCTS.
I’m sure the southern states residents will enjoy all the delious flavors of TH as much as we do.
Well, you are starting to surround me- 45 miles to the north, 50 to the west, 70 to the south, and 85 to the east. Come on to the Triad of NC!
What great news!! Now when I and my family go south for vacation I know I can get Turkey Hill ice cream. It will make those vacations even better.
Ice cream, especially Turkey Hill Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, should be required for daily eating.
the best ice cream around
A name like TURKEY HILL will win the south.
How about white house ice cream? ( vanilla ice cream with bing cherries) I would trade my first born for a dish of that
I love that painting! I feel like I know right where it is, although truly it could be any number of vistas in Lancaster County. Who is the artist?
Hard to decide when it is time to buy Turkey Hill ice cream. All flavors are
awsome.
The Brown Derby–quite the menu. I see Pennsylvania, too. Hollywood and California. Who sees Albany? Great food!
Great ice cream, great value, with a large selection of choices. I personally love the Philadelphia Vanilla.
Hope there is enough to go around !!!
Hi-ho for Bi-Lo! Thank you so much Turkey Hill for once again not letting me down, and exceeding my expectations. While I do love vacationing down south, as my family goes to South Carolina every summer, I have to say that while I love the warm weather, gorgeous beaches, and the night-life, I have had to pay the price with second-string ice cream. The 16 hour car trip is too long to pack my own from home, and the grocery stores remain stocked with Perry’s,m Breyers, Edy’s and local brands but no Turkey Hill. I am online right now searching the web for the closest Bi-Lo to Charleston South Carolina. And even if it is an hour out of our way, I am begging my Mom to stop on the way down because its that important to me. Other ice just don’t satisfy me…they are too icey, or get freezer burn, or leave a bad aftertaste…they are not creamy and loaded with other tastey treats like Turkey Hill. I am beaming right now with happiness. Would it be possible to work out a deal with the Piggly-Wiggly grocery stores in the South, so that they could sell Turkey Hill products too? That would just be the cherry on my ice-cream Sunday…or should I say “ice-cream Saturday” since I will be having myself one soon after lunch. Yum!
I’ll be forwarding this info to my friend who moved to Georgia last fall. She sure misses Turkey Hill so I know this will make her happy.
My daughter lives in Burlington, N. C., and would be thrilled if Turkey Hill came to her area. I hope it won’t be long. There is no Bi Lo in her area!
I,m sure everyone down south will love TH as much as we do. After looking at the painting I must plan a trip to Lancaster this summer…We used to make the trip every summer but haven’t done so for about three years.
So glad you’re moving South. How about Orlando? Do you have any TH in that area?
You just made our summer vacation better! Now when we visit South Carolina we won’t miss our TH. We can simply go to the BI-LO store and get some. Thanks so Much!
Love your latest duo, coconutz. Keep up the good work. WTG Turkey Hill!!!!
My daughter would be thrilled if TH came to SLC. Utah of course!
I can’t wait to go on our vacation down south this summer so that we can enjoy Turkey Hill while relaxing on the beach!
Yes the weather is beautifull and I am glad it was warm enough to hang the clothes out to dry. My dryer quit and our old one in storage wouldn’t work either. So we can at least console ourselves with a bowl of Turkey Hill.
in Buffalo, NY weather has been nice can hardly wait for spring
I am happy for the people in the South. They can finally enjoy some Turkey Hill!
The kids helped me this time with the voting. This swayed some of my personal choices but they do influence my purchases so I suppose it makes sense.
Have a son in FL. Hope you sell Turkey Hill there soon!
So nice to hear our Southern friends will be able to enjoy Turkey Hill Ice Cream. They will have a new dessert to serve to family and friends!!! Hope they check out the Turkey Hill Recipe site.
Hurray for the south. They will love, love their Turkey Hill.
It’s so nice to know that I won’t miss my favorite ice cream when I move to Georgia. I was worried about that. Just bought my favorite yesterday, Peanut Butter ripple – Glad to know its back! Keep up the great work! Love ya
We have many Turkey Hill stores in my area but I find the price for the ice cream is cheaper in my favorite grocery stores. I was really suprized about this.
