The Ultimate Flavor Tournament is designed to determine the best Turkey Hill ice cream flavor as determined by your votes. Each week we’ll narrow down the field until just one flavor is left standing. We’ll also choose 10 comments at random from all the comments left during the six week showdown and each commenter will receive a one month supply of Turkey Hill ice cream and we’ll choose one lucky comment to receive a ONE YEAR supply of ice cream.
We’ve reached the halfway mark of this year’s Ultimate Flavor Tournament and just eight of the original 32 flavors remain. As expected, some flavors have shown their dominance in the early rounds to make it to the Edible Eight (Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup appear headed to another finals showdown), but a few flavors – like Caramel Cone Chaos and Junior Mint – have surprised everyone by beating some tough competition to make it this far.
Once again, we turn to the Ice Cream Professor himself, our very own Ernie, for an analysis of this week’s four heavyweight match-ups.
MATCH-UP #1 – Dynamic Duos Caramel Cone Chaos vs. Tastykake Peanut Butter Kandy Kake

Turkey Hill ice cream is always in my house. I used to travel to Pa and my brother always had this ice cream and about two years ago it started coming to this area of Kentucky and it has been a part of my household since. I like all flavors some but think carmel and chocolate are my favorite.

This round was pretty easy for me: since I can’t eat peanut products, voting was a snap. The only real tough decision was between Vanilla Bean and Dutch chocolate, and even that wasn’t too difficult as I am a confirmed chocoholic!
Hard to choose between “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup vs. All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip,” but as I’ve noted before “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup” cannot be beaten.

When i shop, i hear many others saying as i do, that there are too many “odd” flavors of ice cream, all brands are making too many of these, making mit hard to find our favourites. My husband works in a school, has seen big increae in peanut allergies, so may be time to rethink using them in ice cram at all, or in just a few, slso print this info in big letters on pkg. for health issues. Would like to see more sugar free flavors as well, as more of us must eat this kind. thanks

Chocolate! Yes I have my dairy product every day. I eat ice cream for breakfast! I gave my daughter ice cream for breakfast because she hated milk this was the best way to get dairy products in to her and she liked it.So many say thats just wrong but I know she was getting milk one way or the other for strong bones and teeth! Getting harder and harder to choose – right now they are ALL my favorites.
It looks like we have vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, and mint in various combinations. Last year it was the simple vanilla bean declared the winner. So far some of my favorites are still in the running. You don’t really lose if your favorite doesn’t win. Just go buy it in the store and go home and consider yourself and your favorite Turkey Hill flavor both winners.

Okay, I finally have to let everyone in on a secret I’ve been harboring… I’m having an affair with Turkey Hill… it’s hard enough just to admit loving a “turkey” but it’s true and now that it’s out, I can tell the world… I LOVE TURKEY HILL… in whatever flavor… it doesn’t matter.. I just love Turkey Hill so much.
Well it looks to me like it’s going to be vanilla again–nothing wrong with that! Right now I have vanilla, choc marshmallow, neopolitan and banana split in my freezer. They are all great but can’t get enough of that banana split.

Mmmmm ice cream! Cold creamy, delicious Turkey Hill. When all is said and done – does the flavor really matter? I mean, okay, Butter Pecan is gone but I’m not just going to walk away ice cream-less. I’ll eat Vanilla Bean and even enjoy it very much!

Coconut Cream Pie is the best new flavor TH has introduced in years. I generally don’t like coconut, but I tasted this on a whim and am now hooked. I will be very sad if this “limited edition” is not continued on a permanent basis.

Butter pecan, chocolate chip cookie dough are always in my freezer after that it is anything with chocolate and caramel, seriously any turkey hill ice cream is great. We are even able to get it way up in maine( like 5 hours north) so that tells you how good it is and they usually carry some types that we don’t get around here so as long as I can get turkey hill ice cream wherever I am , I am one happy person

Ice Cream is more American than apple pie. My brother was a POW in North Vietnam for more than seven years. He was a life long lover of chocolate ice cream. He sat in prison and dreamed of eating dishes of chocolate ice cream. He would have loved the sweet smooth flavor of the chocolate in your chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream as he loved both chocolate and peanut butter. It’s probably the best ice cream I have ever enjoyed. Too bad my brother is not here to enjoy it too.

Well no major disaster like a flood or tornado, or losing my job in this economic recession so I can’t plead for pity, but it was a hardship for me to endure. Unfortunately a microsoft bug infected my home computer so I had no access to the internet. I was deprived of reading this daily blog, everyone’s comments, and most importantly keeping my favorite flavors in with my vote. Luckily there are so many great ones, I can’t help but love the flavors left, so good job guys.
