The Ultimate Flavor Tournament is designed to determine the best Turkey Hill ice cream flavor as determined by your votes. Each week we’ll narrow down the field until just one flavor is left standing. We’ll also choose 10 comments at random from all the comments left during the six week showdown and each commenter will receive a one month supply of Turkey Hill ice cream and we’ll choose one lucky comment to receive a ONE YEAR supply of ice cream.
This is it. The last big fight before the final showdown. We started with 32 flavors and now, only four remain. Which two will move on the final round? We asked Ernie that question, and here’s what he had to say about this week’s match-ups:
MATCH-UP #1 – Vanilla Bean vs. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
“It’s a rematch of last year’s final showdown! Vanilla won that battle, but there are a lot of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup fans out there who have been waiting patiently for rematch, and now they have it. Vanilla actually looked somewhat vulnerable during last week’s battle against Dutch Chocolate, so this match-up should be close.”
MATCH-UP #2 – Tastykake Peanut Butter Kandy Kake vs. Light Recipe Moose Tracks
“Here’s the exciting thing: One of these two flavors will be advancing to the final round. No one would have predicted at the beginning of this tournament that either one of these guys would have made it this far, but they did! I’m going to predict a narrow win – probably the narrowest of the entire tournament so far – by Moose Tracks in this one, but I know a lot of Tastykake fans who might disagree.”

Bring it on. You cant beat icecream. I was watching my three grandsons on Saturday and they wanted to make icecream sundaes, so OK no problem. Looked in the freezer, not only one, but 5 near empty containers of Turkey Hill Icecream!!!! We scraped them all out and mixed up a gooey batch of icecream with syrup and sprinkles. What a treat!!!!

I’m having a big buffet dinner this weekend and bought a big basket w/ narrow sides to serve dessert–various 1/2 gal. of Turkey Hill light ice cream, including Moose Tracks, of course, and toppings. (My husband is cutting a sheet of plastic to line the bottom.) And Easter guests will be treated to the same. Yum!

I won your last recipe contest(60 1/2 Gallons) and am busy try flavors available in my area(Schenectady,NY). We have tried the Black Cherry (Good), the Banana Split(Great, Coffee , of which I am a real lover of and butter pecan which was a real treat! We seem to be rather limited to flavors , although I just found a large Price Chopper with a better selection. We love Turkey Hill.
Moose Tracks has it all, a conglomoration of flavors/enjoyment which make the experience something you want to do over and over. Add to the mix that it is light and the #1 pick is without question!!!
Surprised plain Jane vanilla is slightly trailing since it usually leads. My hubby & I usually vote for a non winner since to us vanilla is too plain and hope this year moose tracks wins. We still prefer “Box of Chocolate” as number one.

Looks like a lot of Chocolate PB Cup supporters out there are rallying behind their favorite. Right now it’s leading Vanilla Bean 53 to 47 percent, but it’s still early. Could this rematch go to CPBC? We’ll have to wait and see!
As for Light Recipe Moose Tracks, it looks like its headed to the finals!
Vanilla Bean and a piece of homemade choc. fudge cake, of course I put the vanilla bean on top of the cake, yum. With Tastykake you wouldn’t need the cake. They are all winners in my opinion. Linda

Could the final be between two peanut butter ice cream flavors? Likely not. There’s too much competition. I predict vanilla bean vs light recipe moose tracks in the finals. With these two even second place is not bad.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup all the waaaaay!!! It’s the only flavor that is always in stock in my house! It’s by far my most favorite ice cream flavor EVER– and no ice cream competitor comes close to the perfection of Turkey Hill’s chocolate and peanut butter combination.
The final showdown is on the horizon. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup is #1 for me and most of my family. I was the first one to buy and enjoy this flavor in our family but now everyone loves it as much as I do.

Choc Peanut Butter is the fave at my house. I’ve had to hide it in the freezer so I could at least enjoy a scoup. At our house if Turkey Hill and another brand are in the freezer, Turkey Hill is always the winner and I wind up throwing out the other. Another fave at the house is Banana Split.

Vanilla Bean – sounds basic, but it is the cornerstone of life! I have a traditional dessert recipe for family birthdays and we did our own experiment with different flavors – vanilla bean is the winner hands down!!
Out of all the flavors I have tried, the most popular in our family is the Light Recipe Moose Tracks. It certainly does not taste light. Has a wonderful creamy texture and outstanding taste!

I tried to buy some of my favorite Chocolate peanut butter cup yesterday, but was sadly disappointed as they were out of it. I was happy to find party cake, as that is my children’s favorite. I will be eating chocolate chip cookie dough. I hope dull vanilla doesn’t beat my favorite.
These flavors are ok, but the best is strawberries and cream and the ducetto flavors mango and cherry. Those make great shakes or smoothies.

I’ve decided that I will allow myself unlimited ice cream when I get old. However, I have to admit (at the age of 60) that “old” is a moving target. The older I get, the higher the number!

Moose Tracks is my favorite and I also like Butter Pecan. Anything with nuts is great for me and the Light recipes are so good I don’t even know they’re “light”.

I only get to enjoy Turkey Hill ice cream when I go to VA to see my family, had a TON of it this past Dec 2008 & Jan 2009. My all time fav has got to be Light Moose Tracks the best ice cream ever!! I so wish you could deliver Oklahoma.

I personally prefer French Vanilla so I picked chocolate peanut butter cup over the vanilla bean. However, given a choice which to put with a brownie or a piece of cake, vanilla bean would definitly be the one!
In the end Vanilla bean will win…you can do so much with it.
Vanilla is so ordinary. Any other flavor has a lot more pizzazz. Of the remaining 4 flavors, I definitely think Moose Tracks will outdistance the others.

All of your ice cream is great but my all time favorite is your Coconut Creme Pie -Limited Edition Premium Ice Cream . Absolutely the best ever. The other year we had 46 half gallons in our freezer. The dairy guy at Weis Markets would call us when more Coconut Creme Pie- Limited Edition
Premium Ice Cream was delivered to the store. We’d go and buy whatever they had, 12 or 18 at a time. I honestly felt so guilty of taking so much. The guilt came from my greed not allowing others to enjoy this fantastic ice cream.

Well, lost my coffee in the first round, but still got my vanilla headed for another win. Lots of things change, but you really can’t improve upon a good vanilla ice cream. (Besides, I’ve leanred how to deal/cheat with it. I just put a few spoonfulls of leftover coffee over the vanilla at night).
I love the coconut cream pie flavor topped with sliced strawberries. It’s the perfect sundae and won’t be found anywhere but in your kitchen!

In the first match up I thought it was a little hard to choose. Vanilla Bean is good with everything and good by itself. You can even put peanut butter and chocolate with cherry’s on it which is my personal favorite way to eat it. But in the end I chose chocolate peanut butter because it’s so good!

So I had to really take this competition to heart. I had a Festive Fun Frosty Four Fiesta Feast for 5 of my fabulous friends and myself. I invited them over Sunday night for ice cream Sundays. To get an idea of how the competition was would turn out, I bought 2 tubs of each of the four flavors. And I made a pact that I would vote for the flavor at the end of the night that had the least left in the tub (figuring it was the favorite of all of them). I guess I didn’t expect my friends to love ice cream as much as I did, because by the next morning, all 8 cartons of ice cream were polished off…and yes we even used out fingers to lick off every last drop! So I had to vote for the first two flavors that were finished first. When I announced to my friends the purpose of our fun little feast, and that I would be voting for Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and Light Recipe Moose Tracks, I got an arousing response I hadn’t expected…one of my friends objected in anger saying that no flavor can beat the “simplistic and sophisticated” taste of vanilla bean. After her opinion was voiced we all argued for about 5 minutes all talking at the same time. Then we decided to have more fun. Divided into 2 teams and had a debate about which flavor should win match up #1. This included a formal argument and rebuttal, a limerick rhyme/song, interpretive dance and even a dramatic monologue! It was fun for us but lets just say our midterms suffer from the lack of studying! Oops!
Everyone keeps saying that vanilla goes great WITH things, but I like my ice cream totally solo. So give me some of that Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup deliciousness cuz why mess with perfection!

The taste of Turkey Hill’s Tastykake Peanut Butter Kandy Kake is a draft from the past because I grew up snacking on little Tasty Kakes. Just because I turned 81 this year doesn’t mean Ive gone loopy. That combination of sponge cake, peanut butter and chocolate frosting is still my favorite flavor combination and is perfectly reproduced in Turkey Hill’s ice cream version.
