Apparently, this is what happens when you leave your ice cream truck out in the sun too long. Who knew! Actually, this gooey masterpiece is the work of Australian sculptor Orest Keywan, who won $30,000 in Australia’s Sculpture by the Sea competition. No word on how well behaved the seagulls are at this particular beach.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
looks like a melt down of ice cream
The driver meet the same doom?
I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW REALISTIC THIS SCULPTURE IS MAGNIFICENT!!! I LOVE THIS!!! & I LOVE TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM!!!

THE DROWNING POOL, ask for it at your local library!
awesome sculpture-too bad we didn’t get there to save the ice cream
No, a tow truck wouldn’t do, but maybe the biggest pack of hungray dogs would do. Very amuzing photo.
Was their logo…”Our ice cream is to melt for!” or maybe “Our ice cream will melt your taste buds!”
It amazes how talented some people are!
That’s so cool!!!
I can see why that sculptor won, although I didn’t see the other entries.
More stores in the Detroit area need to carry your products please—Vanilla and coconut flavor the best ever–thanks
I bet we will be seeing a lot of this once the weather warms up, and I can’t wait to see it! barbara
This is fabulous art!
Gee! I never realized how dangerous those ice cream trucks could be in the summer. Hope the driver got out before the mishap. LOL
What a brillant sculptor, the only thing he could of done better was put a Turkey Hill logo on the truck!!!
Now thats art! Makes you hungry, time for Turkey Hill. Still looking for Junior Mint!!!
What an awesome sculpture. It made me giggle as soon as I saw it.
That is an amazing sculpture. If that really happened in my neighborhood the dogs and cats would have a ball and the kids would be there with a spoon! I prefer my Turkey Hill from the freezer and it’s time to go have some Lite Moose Tracks.
That is really awesome!
Hahaha!! That’s hysterical! What clever creativity…
great and punny
This picture is totally awesome. Linda
I wish I happened to walk by holding a tablespoon in each hand.
That artist is so creative! His work brought a smile to my face.
Very artsy craftsy.
Do you think that truck passed through Chernobyl? That’s a classic meltdown.
that is neat i love it
I hit the jackpot at the supermarket the other day….BP Dynamic Duo,Coconutz
Duo and Chocolate Coconut Duetto (and the Duetto was on Sale for $1.50 each and I had $1.00 off Coupons… doesn’t get any better than that. The Choc/Coconut is awesome and I liked the nutz side, but the coconut caramel side is totally awesome. I’ll be tasting the BP Duo shortly.
We can’t let Vanilla Bean Win…CPBC is slightly behind…All you Choc PB lovers need to vote and have all your friends vote to…
$30,000.00!!! PHEW! You could buy a lot of Turkey Hill with that. Creative, unique, and eye-catching. I wonder what gave him the idea, and how long it took him to make it. Good job!
How clever! I love this melted ice cream truck and am very glad it didn’t have Turkey Hill inside.
What a great idea! He certainly deserved to win!
Looking at this sculpture it’s not hard to imagine how real it looks. Such an imagination and skill. I always eat my Turkey Hill before it melts.
What an imagination! Good for him.
Fantastic!!
so howcum the truck melted but not the cone on top?
very creative!
That’s real cute!
Come on Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup candy lovers, vote for Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. Vanilla Bean can’t win again.
looks like this truck was carry a lot of strawberry and cream ice cream….which reminds me…..have to go eat some T.H….see you later…
What a great imagination! It made me smile and I too am glad it didn’t have TH in it.
Turkey Hill will be at our Passover table. Line a pie plate with the sherbet of your choice and freeze. When ready to serve, soften slightly and fill with fresh strawberries. Cut into wedges, and you have the perfect ending to your Seder feast. It’s light and refreshing, and oh so pretty, too.
Celebrating Easter? Turkey Hill sherbet makes the perfect final statement to your feast.
this is an awesome piece of art, very creative.
Looks real and delicious
Great photo! And keep those votes coming for Moose Tracks. Gotta beat Vanilla Bean this year.
I like Turkey Hill Ice Cream Light/Yogurt. Usually I buy Vanilla Bean. When I want a decandent taste or a change, I purchase Black Cherry, Strawberry Cheesecake, or multi flavored Sherberts. A great way to enjoy the Vanilla is to blend it with your favorite flavor yogurt, skim milk, or diet soda for a great smoothie. You
can add some peaches, raspberies, or melons pieces.
Regarding the Melting Truck: Great Art Piece! Too bad it isn’t edible.
IT REALLY LOOKS GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT.!!!!!
WHAT AN IMAGINATION.
