The Ultimate Flavor Tournament is designed to determine the best Turkey Hill ice cream flavor as determined by your votes. Each week we’ll narrow down the field until just one flavor is left standing. We’ll also choose 10 comments at random from all the comments left during the six week showdown and each commenter will receive a one month supply of Turkey Hill ice cream and we’ll choose one lucky comment to receive a ONE YEAR supply of ice cream.
And then there were two. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup put up a good fight early last week, before fading to finish eight percentage points behind Vanilla Bean. Meanwhile, Light Recipe Moose Tracks continued its amazing run to the final round with a decisive win over Tastykake Peanut Butter Kandy Kake.
Instead of asking Ernie for his opinion of who will win the Vanilla Bean vs. Light Recipe Moose Tracks battle, we decided to let each flavor plead its case for why it should be named Turkey Hill’s “Ultimate Flavor.”

“First, I’d like to congratulate my opponent for getting this far. It’s been a long road for both of us and we both deserve to be here. Why should I, Vanilla Bean, win the Ultimate Flavor Tournament? Well, I won it last year, which should count for something, and I go great with just about everything. You can dress me up with tons of different toppings. Go ahead, imagine me drizzled with chocolate and caramel syrup, topped with whipped cream and chopped peanuts. I look good, don’t I? And, I didn’t want to have to mention this, but Vanilla is America’s number one selling ice cream flavor…by a mile. Considering all that, I think the choice is pretty clear.”

Whoa! We weren’t sure what to expect when we checked the polls this morning, but we definitely weren’t expecting to see Moose Tracks leading by such a significant margin.

I just bought two cartons of TH last night – Dutch Chocolate and Vanilla Bean. I have to go with Vanilla Bean as my favorite. There’s just so much you can do with vanilla to get different tastes, such as, if I want a peanut butter taste I put a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter on it and some chocolate syrup! With pie or cake ala mode I don’t think you can beat plain ‘ole vanilla!!
Vanilla is not my first choice of ice cream flavors, but since I can’t eat peanut products, I have no choice but to select it in the final round. I’m disappointed that none of the mint products made it through the tournament!
this is tough, VB is so versatile, but MT…it is light, I can eat MORE, and chocolate & PB….how can you go wrong??

Everyone loves Vanilla, especially Turkey Hill but MOOSE TRACKS hits the spot with those awesome additional flavors which please the senses. Truly the winner and it is even “Light” which is just an extra bonus to the Turkey Hill experience.

I feel like a traitor to old faithful vanilla though. On a hot day nothing beats a frosty mug of root beer with a BIG scoop of vanilla ice cream. And I love the pairing of HOT fudge with COLD vanilla.

Have to say that when it comes to ice cream, you need Vanilla Bean so you can go in ANY direction with that bowl. Add to it, put in in something, on something, eat it “bare” – you just don’t have that versatility when you have a combination ice cream – even one as GREAT as Moose Tracks – so VB gets my vote.

I just tried Moose Tracks for the first time last week and I really loved it! Unfortunately my store doesn’t carry a huge variety of flavors and I thought it was time to try something light. Honestly, I would not have known it was a “light” product. Now I’ll have to try some others. But Butter Pecan will always be my favorite, winner or not!

As much as I enjoy Moose Tracks or other flavors, Vanilla Bean rises to the top. I use Vanilla Bean in many recipes,in my coffee,served at my parties and at my ice cream bar during celebration functions, particularly for the many children. Usually no one is allergic to vanilla and each can make it persoal with the many toppings I serve.

I was always a fan of Vanilla fudge or Mint chocolate chip but Moose Tracks has become my new favorite. The combination of vanilla fudge ice cream with caramel and peanut butter cups makes ever bowl of ice cream a sundae!

Mmmmm, I love Vanilla Bean. Almost every time my husband and I buy ice cream, we buy Vanilla Bean first, and then add one or two other of our favorite Turkey Hill flavors. It just goes so great with everything. We particularly love combining it with homemade apple pie, and also using it in delicious smoothies. Go Vanilla Bean!

MOOSE TRACKS!! Reminds me of woods: walking on a winding dirt path (those thick, delicious ribbons of dark chocolate) “littered” with droppings (peanut butter cups) on a breezy day with blue sky and white puffy clouds (vanilla “lite”). Those are each great things; but the sum is greater than the parts! And ESPECIALLY Turkey Hill’s Moose Tracks Lite!!! Other brands’ comparable flavors don’t even come close. [I'd sure hope I win a year's worth....]

My Mom and I loved the Moose Tracks Light Ice Cream and it always brought a big smile to her face when I brought her a bowl of it each evening as her treat. My Mom recently passed away and now, each time I have a bowl without her, I know she is smiling down on me and enjoying the moment as much as I am. I know she has her ice cream in Heaven, and it would have to be TURKEY HILL MOOSE TRACKS!!! Go MOOSETRACKS!!!
In the end the two favorites can duke it out, but they are both winners in my book.
There is no way to allow for some people’s tastes. No matter what the results are, I still prefer Skinny Minty light and urge everyone who has not tried it, to do so. I think you will agree more with my choice than the results of the voting.
Moose tracks is the best by far. I had a heart attack and now light ice cream is all I eat and we especially like MOOSE TRACKS. Yum Yum are the peanut butter cups. It is such an enjoyable taste with each spoonful we either get creamy fudge or else a mini PB cup. Vanilla bean is good but Moose Tracks rule the world. Go Moose Tracks!!!!!!

I just tried the lite Moose Tracks and couldn’t wait till it was finished. I don’t know what that chocolate stuff in there is,but the Chocolate peanut butter drops are fantastic. You can keep the other stuff. I hope it was an accident whatever the other stuff was.

They are both terrific ice creams, But Vanilla Bean gets my vote. There is just something about the smooth rich taste of vanilla bean that makes it a delicious treat. Moose tracks tastes good but at times it can be so overwelming. all those tastes together. If I want chocolate carmel and peanut butter in my ice cream i can just add it to vanilla bean which if my tastes buds are up for it will make it taste all the better.

Vanilla should be #1 again- it’s the most versatile ice cream there is- alone or in shakes or thousands of desserts- its flavor can NOT be beat!
I really couldn’t decide. I’m a huge vanilla fan but not vanilla bean just plain vanilla. I’m a big fan of the light ice creams so I went with Moose Tracks.
I have a very strong feeling vanilla bean will win. All the Turkey Hill flavors are great so I guess there really are no losers.
Vanilla Bean is good, but LR Moose Tracks is better and wins it all!

Vanilla Bean!!! While I love trying flavors of any kind, I always come back to Vanilla Bean…and if I’m in the mood for another flavor, I can turn Vanilla Bean into it!!
Light recipe Moose Tracks is the way to go.
Nothing wrong with Vanilla Bean but having that delicious mixture of flavor and texture is hard to beat. Keep up the great work at Turkey Hill

Turkey and Moose go together like two peas in a pod. I can taste those delicious tracks now, mmmmmmmm.
First you change your half gallon containers to 1.5 quart containers while still charging the full price, and then you charge the grocery store five cents less for the container. Ridiculous! There are other good ice cream companies in the world, and they charge less than TH. Consider me a former customer.

Love the vanilla (it is my daughter’s favorite) but this is the year of the moose.
Looks like Moose Tracks is pulling away in the race…..actually, I think it’s calling me to the freezer too.
Vanilla was the first ice cream flavor I tasted as a child, the first is always the best.
This is my absolute new favorite flavor of ice cream. I’ve been hooked on it since the first spoonful and now I always have a carton in my freezer. What a great treat at the end of the day!
I think Vanilla Bean is the best. It tastes so good and you can mix whatever you want in it like sprinkles. I always look forward to having some.

My son grabbed the lite recipe moosetracks at the store the other night. I was on my second cup when I realized it was Lite! I was so… excited. In the past when we’ve (mistakenly) grabbed a lite icecream, it ends up going to waste.Up until now I’ve been vanilla bean all the way – I think I have a new favorite. Please don’t make this a “sometime” icecream.
Now – if you would consider packaging in the gallon sizes…

I love how the peanut butter cups melt in your mouth with the cold feeling. Also, moose tracks lite recipe are amazing because my mom gets it now because it’s lite recipe so she doesn’t go overboard on her diet. How convenient! GO MOOSE TRACKS!
I voted for Vanilla because my “very vanilla” husband loves it and there are so many things you can do with it.

My favorite of all time is CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW…………..I can’t find it all the time but when I do I stock up. It’s my “soothing” snack. YUMMY!
