When my son was a toddler he would request “Morning Dessert” right after breakfast- only ice cream that would satisfy this request. He thought all meals incomplete without it! (many nutrition lessons followed but his love of ice cream never waivered.)

My family and I rarely go out for ice cream to expensive but we usually buy Turkey Hill weekely by the half gallon. Mango vanilla gelato is my favorite.

We had a poddle for 21 years and he loved icecream. We had to spell it if we wanted some icecream. He was the first at the refrigator if you opened the freezer door. When we traveled he always went with us and when we stopped for a cone my husband always said five cones please and a dish for our icecream eating dog. I don’t know who loves it more. Him or us humans.

growing up we lived near this place called “The Milk Barn” it was truly a barn converted to ice cream place and it would be packed all summer long inside and out. Huge ice cream cones at really reasonable prices and a really good quality ice cream(not turkey hill though).but it is no longer there, people retired and sold it to a car dealership who inturn donated the barn itself to the town because of historical value and right now it sits in storage. so since then there is not anything that even comes close to that around here. That is one of the things that many people really miss in this area sadly.

We can enjoy a double helping of ice cream at home (Turkey Hill of course) for less than at the local ice cream shoppe. But it is nice on special occasions to splurge.

If by ice cream shop you mean the local Dairy Queen that is only open from March 15th to September 15th–then we only go about once a month. When we travel ice cream is always one of our tourist stops–as we don’t really have one in our hometown.

I rarely go to a real Ice Cream Parlor….not too many around these days, but we have Turkey Hill ice cream almost every night for dessert! Can’t beat that as far as I’m concerned.

We rarely get our ice cream from the ice cream shop. We get our Turkey Hill out of the ice cream freezer at the super market. It’s just what we want and it’s available to us at home without taking a trip to get it.

Wonder if Anne O lives at University Park, PA? Penn State makes delicious ice cream. My fave is peach and my husband likes their choc mint. A real treat when in the area. Talk about lines. When it is a busy weekend at PSU the line can be very long. That rival company Ben & Jerry learned to make their ice cream from a PSU course.

I love my Turkey Hill ice cream and eat it often but there are occasions when we do go out for soft ice cream with our grown kids and their families. It is just a change from the hard to the soft. But the favorite is still Turkey Hill.

I do stop at Bruster’s occasionally (maybe 1-2 times a month)when I’m in the neighborhood and have a coupon. However, nothing can beat the convenience of opening up the freezer door and having some Turkey Hill.

We don’t have many non-chain ice cream stores here, but our university has its own creamery and sells amazing ice cream in great flavors. This is a must for all residents and visitors. The ice cream is fabulous and a big part of the university.

Not very often. It is more economical to buy a whole container at the store. Plus the quality is usually better, and you know what the ingredients are. I also wonder about the sanitation in some of the chains.

We don’t really have any small type ice cream places to go to. Just some chain store places and soft serve stands. They are very expensive and not as good as TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM.
I buy a variety of TURKEY HILL and keep it in my freezer. This way I have my choice whenever I want some.The Duetto Raspberry is great for those hot summer days too.

For everyday treats, I usually keep 3 or 4 flavors of TH in the freezer. But for a special treat, I love to get a waffle cone at the Strasburg creamery and walk down to the park and back!

I agree with the majority of people that it’s better to buy Turkey Hill and make cones or sundaes at home. Price wise you can’t go wrong. The price at ice cream shops is outrageous and just is not in the budget at this time.

I used to stop at my favorite ice cream shop in CT which is Pralines, until they started charging $4.95 for a sundae with 2 scoops of ice cream. To spend over $20 for one ice cream trip is way too much money when I can make my own for the whole family for less.
It’s almost time for my ice cream party for the end of the school year.

These local shops charge as much for a single scoop as an entire 48 oz. Turkey Hill container (on sale), and their quality is mediocre.

The icecream shop down the street is a bit pricey. They offer my favorite icecream “moosetracks” but I have to tell you it definitely does not compare to Turkey Hills “Light Mossetrack”. There have been a few times I went to the store to get the TH Light Mossetrack and they have been all out so in those instances, I run to the local icecream shop.

I visit our local ice cream shop, but it is not for ice cream. They have a great Mushroom Burger. When you have ice cream just about every night out of your own freezer there is no need to go there. This week I have been eating Philadelphia Eagle Ice Cream, and now we are into the limited edition of Junior Mint. Keep the Turkey Hill Ice Cream producing, I’ll eat it all!!!!

Our local ice cream store has overpriced their product. For me to take my family to this establishment for an ice cream cone would be a small fortune. We choose to buy a container or two of Turkey Hill Ice Cream and we can even buy a few toppings with money left over to buy more Turkey Hill next week !!!

Going to an Ice Cream store/stand to us was an outing for our children so in the summer it was weekly to different ones. One week soft ice cream, next make your own sundae or to Jersey Freeze. Now we are grandparents and the children are not near us so its a few times a year when they come up for “Camp Grandma” or we visit them (They are in different states). For us we prefer a bowl (really out of the carton) at home of TH.

We have a local ice cream stand we go to a few times during the summer (special occasions – last day of school, after the dance recital, etc.) I prefer to buy TH ice cream and have sundae nights with the family or buy popsicles and let them have them a few times a week rather than the ice cream stand or Blue Bunny / Mr. Softee trucks.

We have Rita’s and DQ, but I don’t care for that type of soft serve and way to expensive, they even charge for the cherry on top of the sundaes. I stick with Turkey Hill, any flavor I want and nothing extra for all the goodies in TH.I had most of the rest now I stick with the best TH. Linda

mostly eat ice cream at home but do go out a few times a month to Krisch’s in Massapequa, Long Island-they serve breakfast,lunch and dinner and have homemade icecream and homemade chocolates-they have the best hot fudge and use real whipped cream on their sundaes-YUM -PS a tip to weight watchers out there-Turkey Hill frozen yogurt-chocolate marshmallow is scrumptious!

Sorry to say we don’t have any local ice cream shops that I’m aware of. Malls have a few but they are terribly expensive and not places that you could even sit down in. The old time ice cream parlors and soda shops are a thing of the past for the most part, at least in NJ. Maybe small towns in the Midwest are different??

We enjoy our ice cream everyday and it is Turkey Hill, but we have it at home for dessert and in the summer in milkshakes.

We couldn’t wait until our local ice cream shop opened up. We went as soon as it did. And to our surprise, we actually have an ice cream truck that started coming around in our town which we haven’t had in years. What a pleasant surprise. We visit our local ice cream shop at least twice a week. That’s in between the times we eat it at home.
