Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. Back to work now, which, if you work in a place where you make ice cream, isn’t always a bad thing.
The best thing about Memorial Day, besides the day off and a chance to pay tribute to our nation’s armed forces, is that it marks the unofficial start of the “summer season,” even though the official season doesn’t begin for another month.
The unofficial start of the summer season also means the unofficial start of ice cream eating season. Yeah, yeah, we’ve said it before on here, “Every season is ice cream eating season!” But the summer is the best time of all to indulge in a little extra ice cream here and there, isn’t it?

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
That’s an unusual color for soft serve in that picture. Is it supposed to be pistachio or just retro cool?
Just picked my first strawberry from my strawberry patch today, so this is my strawberry and vanilla ice cream season.
Summer and ice cream just seem to go together. A pleasant treat for a pleasant season. The hot weather brings out your desire for something cool, refreshing and flavorful. Turkey Hill ice cream satisfies that desire.

We knew the unusually colored ice cream in the picture would make some people curious. It’s actually Green Tea flavored ice cream, though we’re not sure where it can be found.
I thought it was green tea ice cream! I used to live in Japan, so I’m somewhat familiar with the treat. Personally, I like sweeter ice cream.
