For awhile now, the Ice Cream Journal has been creeping up on 20,000 total comments since it was created in November 2006. That’s a lot of comments. When we first started the blog, we never dreamed we’d get 1,000, much less 20,000.
In all the excitement of the spring, we forget to keep checking to see when the magical number was reached. We usually read the comments the same way you do (on each individual entry), but when we looked at the comment log today, we realized number 20,000 had arrived almost a month ago! It was posted by Lorraine P. on the entry about visiting your local ice cream shop. Here’s what Lorraine had to say:
“We do have many local ice cream shops. In fact we just visited one this past weekend. Water ices and Cream ices are a big thing on Long Island. Lots of ice cream in the freezer. Always a staple in our house. Thanks Turkey Hill for making a “great” product.”
Thanks for helping us reach our milestone, Lorraine! In honor of your place in ice cream blogging history, we’ll send you coupons for a one month supply of Turkey Hill ice cream! Thanks also to those of you who left the other 19,999 comments. We read every single one of them and appreciate them all!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
The Stop & Shop in Wappingers Falls, New York never ever has any new flavors – especially the new Yankee flavors – can somebody get them up to date with this? Nobody has an answer either when I ask them.
Thank you – love your products.

I second Joanne and I’m in NJ. I buy nonfat yogurt. Limited flavors available. Wish there were more! But I enjoy what we do have.

THE DROWNING POOL, Five Star/Gale–romantic mystery novel–request it at your local library!
And from what I read the comments are all good, I mean good tasting because Turkey Hill hits the spot. Congrats to Lorraine and enjoy your month of free TH!!! : )
Congrats Lorraine, I hope you and your family enjoy the ice cream. Let us know what flavors you chose.
What ever happened to ‘Death By Chocolate’? That was by far the favorite in our household!
Sandra
The May Flavor of the month is a bit hit in our house! Peanut Butter Brownie… Delicious!
What a great gift to your customers!
THIS IS FOR JOANNE WOLF….
I ALSO SHOP AT STOP AND SHOP IN WAPPINGERS FALLS. YOU ARE RIGHT THEY NEVER HAVE A SELECTION OF TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM.
I FIND THAT SHOPRITE IN FISHKILL HAS A MUCH BETTER CHOICE. TRY THEM.

All these comments just prove that people have a lot to say about ice cream – especially Turkey Hill. To get 20,000+ comments and they are all positive – what a record!!
Good point, Bob, about the all positive comments. We’re happy to see that too. Actually, there’s only been one comment that we’ve had to remove in the last two-and-a-half years. That was because someone used too many four-letter words to describe how much the LOVED Turkey Hill ice cream!
right now I am searching for Southern Lemon Pie ice cream (which I adore) but neither the Garnerville, NY Shoprite nor the West Haverstraw ,NY Stop and Shop have it. Since this is only available in June, I’m getting desperate. Turkel Hill should keep this as an all year round flavor. Please, please.
I’m looking for Southern Lemon Pie ice cream, too! We’re down in Toms River, Ocean Co, NJ. If anyone reading this knows where we can find it please let us know!
Thanks!
Linda J
I was wondering why there are never any coupons for turkey hill. I will only eat Turkey Hill Ice Cream and wish there were coupons so I could buy more. I especially love the new Duetto flavors.
Congratulations Turkey Hill on the success of you blog! Enjoy you ice cream Laura! Keep the good things coming Turkey Hill
I live in Kearny, NJ (essentially metropolitan NYC) and can shop in 4 different grocery stores: Foodtown, Pathmark, ShopRite and Stop and Shop. I have NEVER seen Southern Lemon Pie and rarely see the Limited Edition flavors.
Maybe we have to harass the store managers to get them to order some of these special flavors!
enjoy reading the comments-enjoy eating Turkey hill even more-especially Dutch Chocolate
Finally got the Duetto Ban.Foster and Southern Lemon Pie,they are both great. I am so glad out TH store carries all the wonderful flavors and the store is so close to my home I can walk there.I told the girl working there next time I am bringing a spoon so I can eat some on the way home, probably wouldn’t have any left until I got home LOL. Thanks TH for a great variety of flavors and a wonderful product. Linda
the Turkey Hill Site is very interesting for the whole entire family
Hi Turkey Hill,
I love this site, and thank you for having real good ice cream and products. Keep up the good work.
CONGRADS TO LORRIANE. WHO WON THE CONE MAKER? I SURE HOPE IT WAS ME AND I MISS THE E-MAIL.
i’m looking to find a place to buy Southern Lemon Pie, if anyone knows in the hills of Pa, please let mo know. I also would like to the old favorite back of Chocolate cherry cordial, it is my all time fav, please can’t we go back back to this one?
I never knew that TH has Yankee flavored ice cream. I guess it’s not sold here in Pa. I couldn’t believe it when I read you had 20,000 e-mails. Way to go. Oh,did Joannne Wolf mean by yankee flavor the team Yankee??
let me just say this, 30,000 here we come.
I sure am hungry for the chocolate whopper chip ice cream you used to have…haven’t found it in a store for a looooooong time.
Thanks for sharing all your Turkey Hill news. It is great to hear about your ice cream, even if it isn’t out here yet in the desert.
have a poll whereas the ice cream lovers such as I would accept the concept of watermelon duetto
What ever happened to “Death by Chocolate?” We LOVED that flavor! But we haven’t seen it in a couple of years in our Connecticut stores. Does Turkey Hill still make this flavor and if so, where is it distributed in New Haven or Fairfield counties? Also looking forward to trying your new “Double Dunker” when it arrives!
My favorite Ice Cream Shop is Beaches and Cream in DisneyWorld!!
I recently purchased your ice cream sandwiches, I absolutely love them, especially the ones with Choc & Van mixed Tks for the sandwiches.
I beleive that the Turkey Hill products are indeed the best in the world. The ice cream products are very tasty and much better that the other products that are in the grocery store ice cabinets. I don’t wait for the grocery store sales brochure because I always eat Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Even the Deutto Ices are fantastic. I especially like the cherry one and also the mango. I add my deluxe skim milk with a bowl of ice cream each night. Thanks for such a great product and I pray that you never leave us. Thanks, Rusty
I purchase your yogurt. My store has only three flavors. I wish there were more. Do you make more than three flavors of yogurt?
I too love Turkey Hill ice cream and my kids love it too.
Just wanted to say how much we love Turkey Hill ice cream. It is the best out there and really the only one we buy on sale or not. We always look forward to the limited additions – they are fun and delicious. The only one that wasn’t a huge hit in our house was the peanut butter brownie one (the brownie pieces should have been soft and chewy). Coconut creme pie is the BEST EVER!!! Every thing Turkey Hill makes is pure quality from the vanilla ice cream to the iced teas. Keep up the good work – we look forward to trying the next best flavors!!!!!
I adore your icecreams. There isn’t a flavor I’ve tried that didn’t thrill my taste buds! I’m so excited! They are building a Turkey Hill store two blocks from my house! They have started stocking the shelves and I can’t wait to walk there to get my icecream and icetea. I LOVE your diet Peach White Tea. It’s the best flavor. Wish it came in gallons!
…oh my god do i ever love ice cream!!
plain, with toppings, whatever. just
give me a spoon.
have been “addicted” since my teens when i worked at an ice cream shop
that actually made their own. yummy!!
cantaloupe was my all-time favorite.
seriosly!!
thank YOU turkey hill!!
What’s not to love about ice cream!! We love the lemon pie flavor.
ICE cream is my vICE.
Whoever decided to put peanut butter and chocolate together, especially in ice cream, should be given a medal!
We stock up at work, for our afternoon snack. What a great pick me up in the middle of the day!
Each night, my little dog, Zeus, and I share Turkey Hill “Fudge Ripple” non fat frozen yogurt. Because Zeus is master of the skies with a thunderbolt in each paw, he eagerly awaits and catches bits in mid air of the vanilla part of Turkey Hill(since chocolate is toxic to dog livers). Our day wouldn’t be complete without this shared Turkey Hill after-dinner-treat! Thank you for providing such a wonderfully constant and “healthy” quality product. Zeus and Florence Farber
I am looking forward to trying my luck with an “e Creamery” selection.
Could You Make pineapple coconut ice cream?
Ice cream is the daily treat at our house-I don’t think my husband could survive without it!!
I love ice cream. Your new flavors
sound very yummy makes it difficult
as to what I should select.
Turkey Hill ice cream is just delicious-so rich and creamy. Turkey Hill is a wonderful company as well.
Turkey Hill’s chocolate ice cream is the creamist I have tasted.
You used to make a pineapple coconut ice cream that was out of this world!! Whatever happened to it
from an ice cream junkie, Turkey Hill is the best
I love Turkey Hill Ice Cream, but wish that the limited editions were around longer, they are so good, and the stores in my area are usually a month behind schedule for when the flavors are supposed to be out. I can’t wait to try the Double Dunker, my son’s both like the ice cream and I am sure they are going to like this one. Keep up the good work.
It isn’t summer without the taste of Turkey Hill Peach Ice cream !!
YUMMY !!!
Great ice cream. Thank goodness for Turkey Hill.
i like your ice cream but i cant afford it anymore so i hope i win!!!!
love mango and vanilla Duetto!
Hi, Those tiny mushable, marvelous mints – in that half gallon of ice-cream heaven – left a magnificent memory in my mind. thanxs, Nancy
Turkey Hill not only has wonderful ice cream, but the staff is always so nice. I know God has to be there making sure everything is going well. He must like ice cream too.
I have this problem: my terrific husband tries to keep my aide and I supplied with Turkey Hill Black Cherry ice cream. Our stores don’t always have Black Cherry so he doesn’t buy anything else; he tries to find it in another store. The problem is, we can sometimes eat it faster than he can buy it. We do not over indulge. That would be a sin to over eat. I believe we should try other flavors, but the nice guy he is … he doesn’t want to disappoint us. I have been blessed with the most wonderful husband.
In Christian love,
Joyce
I like all the Turkey Hill products.
My favorite the ice cream.
I LOVE Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Its sooo much better than the freezer burnt other stuff
My favorite flavor is party cake — and I’ve only been able to purchase it once. I can’t find it anywhere near my home — help!
We love Tin Roof Sundae the best
Some people love candy, some fruit, some cake or nuts. But our family loves ice cream. And you can get the candy, fruit, nuts or cake in Turkey Hill ice cream. So we call that a bonus at our house.
Yum and thank you…
My family celebrates Fourth of July the old fashioned way, picnic with special root beer floats for all the kids, young and old.
I’m going shopping today-hope to find some holiday-inspired flavor for the 4th.
We just love Turkey Hill ice cream!! In fact, we vacation every year at Strasburg & Levittown and can’t wait to just go into the Turkey Hill establishments! We don’t have any in our area but are glad to finally start seeing Turkey Hill products in our local stores. Keep up the great work Turkey Hill! From a devoted fan!
My favorite Turkey Hill Ice Cream
for many years is Butter Pecan.
No other ice cream maker of
butter pecan ice cream has such
large pieces of pecans. Even though
I try other flavors of Turkey Hill
Ice Cream, I always come back to
Butter Pecan.
Bring back Death By Chocolate!!!
