SOME ANNOUNCEMENTS AND THE BEST ICE CREAM PHOTO WE’VE SEEN ALL WEEK
Posted by: Turkey Hill Team
Just a couple announcements on this Independence Day eve, with a delicious photo at the end. First, we’d like to give a hearty welcome to all of our new readers who have visited and commented in the first few days of our National Ice Cream Month celebration. We hope many of you decide to stick around and become a part of our rapidly growing Ice Cream Journal family!
Second, we wanted to let you know that Turkey Hill is on Twitter. For those not familiar with Twitter (www.twitter.com), it’s sort of like a blog, but the entries are much shorter (no more than 140 characters) and more frequent (several times a day). You can check out our Twitter feed if you’d like or, if you’ve got a Twitter account of your own, you can follow us!
We should also tell you that we’ve got an Operation Hometown Hello contest using Twitter. If you take a photo of yourself (with your cell phone is fine) making a deposit in an Operation Hometown Hello box at a Turkey Hill Minit Market near you and send us a link to the photo via Twitter, you’ll be entered to win some fun Turkey Hill prizes. You get to donate to the troops AND maybe win a prize. It doesn’t get any better than that.
And now, your delicious ice cream photo. Please refrain from licking your computer screen.

Follow us on twitter!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

I found a piece of metal in my Turkey Hill ice cream. When I reported it you sent me a calendar. What flavor should we name that?
July 13th, 2009 at 6:30 amYes my favorite is Southern Lemon Pie as well, but so hard to find in stock.
July 12th, 2009 at 3:15 amI just tried the new Double Dunker Limited Edition flavor and it is phenomenal! All of you coffee and cookie lovers shouldn’t let this flavor get away before trying it. You won’t be disappointed!

July 6th, 2009 at 8:06 amYes you can live on Ice Cream alone as long as you have some fresh water. If stranded on an island, this is what I would want. Of course I would hope a freezer would wash up on the shore so I can keep it cold.
July 6th, 2009 at 7:50 amHas anyone won the Yankees tickets?
It would be nice if more flavors were added to the ticket selection.
My favorite is the Raspberry Venice® Ice

July 5th, 2009 at 6:59 pmlonger available in half gallons.
Your Peanut Butter Ripple is the BEST! I melt some peanut butter in the microwave for a couple of seconds and drizzle it over the ice cream and top it with Spanish peanuts. YUM YUM YUM. It’s really hard to find the Peanut Butter Ripple in a store nearby so I usually have to do a little bit of traveling to get it, but OMG – it’s so worth it!
July 5th, 2009 at 6:42 pmYummmmm! It’s jusst perfect….not hard, melting a little bit! Like when I was able to grocery shop…When I was done unloading all the bags from the car, and finished putting the things away, I’d lift the lid off of the TH flavor that I’d gotten that day (usually strawberry or butter pecan), get a teaspoon and a bowl, go along the side & get all that melted icecream & put it in a bowl. Then I’d put the TH away and finally get to eat that melted to perfection, delicious icecream!! I miss being able to shop
July 5th, 2009 at 6:08 pmYou made me do it-I licked my computer screen-Great Photo-Thimk I’ll go have a bowl right now:)

July 4th, 2009 at 9:40 amHAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!
That picture is amazing. I love when the ice cream just starts to melt a little. It seems to taste so much better. Although I’ve read that’s the best time to eat it because the flavor is at it’s strongest. I guess that must be true.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:39 amI love to take a big spoonful of Turkey Hill anything chocolate or butter pecan into my mouth and let it melt gently on my tongue.
Happy 4th of July, Turkey Hill, Lancaster, and everyone in between.

Next year can you make a neopolitan of Strawberry, vanilla and blueberry for the fourth of July. We plan to take our grand daughters today to a make your own sundae ice cream store. For me the toppings hide the lack of Turkey Hill quality but the kids have fun making a mess.

July 4th, 2009 at 9:07 amFor the fourth of July we are having fresh strawberry and blueberry pie topped with vanilla ice cream….yum!
July 4th, 2009 at 9:07 amMy favorite for the 4th of July is an ice cream flag cake. Just make any flavored cake in a 13″ x 9″ pan, and when cool spread it with softened Turkey Hill Vanilla ice cream. Add strawberries to make the red stripes, and blueberries for the stars. Timely and delicious!
July 4th, 2009 at 9:05 amFor the 4th I made a fresh strawberry and blueberry pie which will be topped with Turkey Hill vanilla ice cream.

July 4th, 2009 at 7:34 amHad to come back today and check out the picture one more time. Today I am going to mimic the picture. I got cherries, choc, nuts and lots of other ingred. to go with the Turkey Hill van. ice cream. I am going to mix these ingred. in it and serve as dessert to my family. Great picture, but it should have been Turkey Hill ice cream, maybe Bananasplit flavor. Linda

July 4th, 2009 at 7:27 amhi happy fourth– help i live with an ice cream addict–never mind milk or bread just ice cream will do and anyone as long as it has chocolate in it and the Bronx Bomber Sundae is the ewpitome of a chocolate lovers passion-ps he is also a Yankee fan—– but i love the Duettos esp. rasberry—Turkey hill is a astaple in our home

July 4th, 2009 at 5:19 amAccording to a trivia question at my local Curves, we burn 10 calories when we lick a stamp. I wonder if that also works with every lick of an ice cream cone?
July 4th, 2009 at 5:17 amIn our family, we debated what is the flavor displayed.
July 4th, 2009 at 4:54 amIts a shame the pictures are not edible.

July 4th, 2009 at 1:10 amWhat is the new flavor in the picture? And when can we buy it?

July 3rd, 2009 at 10:18 pmMaybe the flavor is chocolate covered cherry???? Whatever ~ it looks delicious!
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:55 pmIf it’s not Turkey Hill, it’s not ice cream. Happy Fourth of July everyone!!

July 3rd, 2009 at 9:34 pm“Please refrain from licking your computer screen” is correct. We like ice cream!
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:16 pmAny new stores opening up around NW PA or northern NJ?
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:53 pmSome say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say this pic is worth 1,000 licks!

July 3rd, 2009 at 8:01 pmKeep up the good work, the root beer duetto was great!
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:39 pmTalking about ice cream on hot days is surely a crowd pleaser. Nothing made us happier in Virginia than when Turkey Hill products became available in the Richmond area. Thank you Turkey Hill for coming down South!
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:34 pmThe photo makes me want to skip dinner and take out my Turkey Hill.
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:22 pmCan you assume this is a Turkey Hill ice cream flavor? If so what is it.
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:21 pmI have resisted the requests from others to join twitter. Shopping stores have blogs, as well as celebrities and my friends. But I have been able to hold my stand on not joining until now. I HAVE to up to date with all the new ice cream info. After all, if there is a new flavor I want to know ASAP when it comes out so I can be the frist to run to the store and get it. I hope I will also be able to share interesting ice cram trivia and facts with my family. Somehow bringing up a conversation of ice cream prompts my family to take me to the store to buy some Turkey Hill. Any way to fuel that is certainly appreciated by me
Kudos to the twitterers!
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:18 pmok this picture is really killing me. WHat flavor is that, anyone know?
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:14 pmLooks like a delicious vanilla with chocolate chunks and cherries. My mouth is watering and I really am tempte to lick the screen!
3 Cheers for Turkey Hill…
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:12 pmHip Hip Hooray!!!
So at first of course my attention was drawn to the photo because it looked so tastey, but then I want back and read the entry…Turkey Hill just keeps getting better and better. Does any other ice cream brand donate as much to its customers and all AMericans like Turkey Hill…NO WAY! My Uncle just got back from a tour in Iraq and when I told him how Turkey Hill is helping the troops, he told me he would take me to the store to get 5 cartons of my choice for the weekend!
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:11 pmThis photo is complete torture for me right now! I traveled to Long Island for the weekend to see my new cousin, and my Aunt is lactose intollerant and apparently ants everyone to suffer as well because she does not have any ice cream in the house! And I couldn’t bring mine from home in a 6 hour drive! Dinner just wasn’t the same as I knew I wasn’t going to be able to top if off with a few of my favorite scoops. If I have to, I am walking to the nearest grocery store to get me some ice cream. After all, it is ice cream month!

I like that there are light and sugar free flavors- I can enjoy ice cream without guilt! I am also happy that Turkey Hill genuinely cares about its customers and that your products are available in Michigan too!
