Just a couple announcements on this Independence Day eve, with a delicious photo at the end. First, we’d like to give a hearty welcome to all of our new readers who have visited and commented in the first few days of our National Ice Cream Month celebration. We hope many of you decide to stick around and become a part of our rapidly growing Ice Cream Journal family!
Second, we wanted to let you know that Turkey Hill is on Twitter. For those not familiar with Twitter (www.twitter.com), it’s sort of like a blog, but the entries are much shorter (no more than 140 characters) and more frequent (several times a day). You can check out our Twitter feed if you’d like or, if you’ve got a Twitter account of your own, you can follow us!
We should also tell you that we’ve got an Operation Hometown Hello contest using Twitter. If you take a photo of yourself (with your cell phone is fine) making a deposit in an Operation Hometown Hello box at a Turkey Hill Minit Market near you and send us a link to the photo via Twitter, you’ll be entered to win some fun Turkey Hill prizes. You get to donate to the troops AND maybe win a prize. It doesn’t get any better than that.
And now, your delicious ice cream photo. Please refrain from licking your computer screen.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
I like that there are light and sugar free flavors- I can enjoy ice cream without guilt! I am also happy that Turkey Hill genuinely cares about its customers and that your products are available in Michigan too!
Hi! Ernie! That ice cream above looks delicious….but did I miss the flavor?
I love all of your ice cream, but have not been able to find your sherbert in our Giant stores. Just curious, but you do make ice and sherbert?
Thanks
Loretta
last night i used my neopolitan ice cream and some waffles for a delicious ice cream sandwich. yum yum!!!!!
Oh, you should be ashamed of yourselves, I have no ice cream in the freezer and yes, I must leave now to get some Turkey Hill. I can hardly finish typing my comment.
just to let you know that your ice cream is the best also like your speciel flavers
WOW!! A whole month devoted to my favorite dessert!! What more could a girl ask for? So many scrumdillyicious flavors to choose from…hmmm maybe a new one each day!!! Happy National Ice Cream month. Maybe you could title the blog, “The Daily Scoop”;o)
Picture of ice cream looks way to good! What was the flavor?
ok, first off, that ice cream looks sooo good! And you guys are on Twitter? I’m not even on Twitter! Man, I’m behind. lol
at first glance I thought I was seeing cherry ice cream! My mom’s favorite…it was a vanilla with cherries in it! Then I spied CHOCOLATE! Now I want to know what it is called so I can indulge!
Omnomnomnomnom
SOLD!!! What’s the flavor shown in the picture? I definitely want some of that!
ok makeme hungry for icecream now.
Turkey Hill Philadelphia style really rings my bell. It is ALL NATURAL and it is the best. The Chocolate rules.
mmm, ice cream!
Looks delicious! Haven’t found a flavor I didn’t like yet!!!!!
Looks delicious! Haven’t found a flavor I didn’t like yet!!!!! Keep them coming.
Now my computer is wet from licking the screen! How about a chocolate picture!
Great! Now I have to go to the store and buy some more ice cream! No fair posting pictures like that; it’s way tooooo tempting!
A very tempting picture.
Not fair. A photo like that on the weekend of the 4th. Guess I have to go to the store AGAIN!
My mouth is watering from looking at that ice cream! It looks sooooo scrumptious!!!
The pictures looks delicious, but not as delicious as the cone of Turkey Hill I am enjoying. Funny, but when I opened the link and saw the ice cream picture, I was eating TH in a cone. Yum, Yum. Linda
Heck, I’m not even the first person to nearly lick that photo on their monitor! Happy Almost-Independence Day, everyone!
Okay, that looks delicious! I think it might be called “cherry chocolate cordial” but I could be wrong. That will make an awesome summer wallpaper on my computer! I love Turkey Hill!
I just can’t get into to Twitter. But who needs Twitter when ice cream is low tech!
Aww… I tried to lick the ice cream on this page, but I couldnt taste anything. :’(
Mmmmm……..what flavor is that?! Looks like a little cherry, a little chocolate & lots of vanilla.
looks good!
I’m not a twitter-ler—-but I love my ice cream
You should have an ice cream picture contest on the blog!
We’re not sure what flavor that is. The website we found it on doesn’t say. It looks to us like it has cherries in it. We also noticed what Barbara A noticed: chocolate! (Bottom left corner and near the dark cherry in the foreground.) That ice cream keeps getting better and better!
The ice cream photo is just too enticing! What a great way to get us hungry for some good Turkey Hill ice cream.
twitter seems to hard to try and do but boy do I love that picture.
That photo with just the right drip is driving me crazy. I gotta have it now.
I am dying for ice cream now. going to the freezer. Thanks Turkey Hill!
I am dying for ice cream now. going to the freezer.
Love the pic. Got to copy it for my wallpaper.
Looks like choco-cherry in vanilla ice cream…a trail mix one would be good with chocolate, dried cherries and/or cranberries and something crunchy like ganola….I don’t think TH had anything like that, do you?
ok, now I need to make an ice cream run
Wow that ice cream looks so good, I want to lick the screen. Happy Fourth of July Turkey Hill.
YUMMY! I’ll be back, headed to the store for some ice cream!
We love national Ice cream Month. We celebrate national ice cream day by having banana splits for breakfast!
HELLO National Ice Cream Month!
What a way to start it
Your new flavor of the month looks outrageous. Hooray for ice cream month.
This photo is complete torture for me right now! I traveled to Long Island for the weekend to see my new cousin, and my Aunt is lactose intollerant and apparently ants everyone to suffer as well because she does not have any ice cream in the house! And I couldn’t bring mine from home in a 6 hour drive! Dinner just wasn’t the same as I knew I wasn’t going to be able to top if off with a few of my favorite scoops. If I have to, I am walking to the nearest grocery store to get me some ice cream. After all, it is ice cream month!
So at first of course my attention was drawn to the photo because it looked so tastey, but then I want back and read the entry…Turkey Hill just keeps getting better and better. Does any other ice cream brand donate as much to its customers and all AMericans like Turkey Hill…NO WAY! My Uncle just got back from a tour in Iraq and when I told him how Turkey Hill is helping the troops, he told me he would take me to the store to get 5 cartons of my choice for the weekend!
3 Cheers for Turkey Hill…
Hip Hip Hooray!!!
ok this picture is really killing me. WHat flavor is that, anyone know?
Looks like a delicious vanilla with chocolate chunks and cherries. My mouth is watering and I really am tempte to lick the screen!
I have resisted the requests from others to join twitter. Shopping stores have blogs, as well as celebrities and my friends. But I have been able to hold my stand on not joining until now. I HAVE to up to date with all the new ice cream info. After all, if there is a new flavor I want to know ASAP when it comes out so I can be the frist to run to the store and get it. I hope I will also be able to share interesting ice cram trivia and facts with my family. Somehow bringing up a conversation of ice cream prompts my family to take me to the store to buy some Turkey Hill. Any way to fuel that is certainly appreciated by me
Kudos to the twitterers!
Can you assume this is a Turkey Hill ice cream flavor? If so what is it.
The photo makes me want to skip dinner and take out my Turkey Hill.
Talking about ice cream on hot days is surely a crowd pleaser. Nothing made us happier in Virginia than when Turkey Hill products became available in the Richmond area. Thank you Turkey Hill for coming down South!
Keep up the good work, the root beer duetto was great!
The picture of the ice cream looks DELICIOUS! now i’m going to go buy some =)Turkey Hill of course!
Mmmmm that ice cream looks delicious, let me run and have a big bowl of Turkey Hill!
Some say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say this pic is worth 1,000 licks!
Any new stores opening up around NW PA or northern NJ?
“Please refrain from licking your computer screen” is correct. We like ice cream!
Mmmmmmmmmm…that picture has sent me to the fridge to get a bowl of ice cream right now!!!
If it’s not Turkey Hill, it’s not ice cream. Happy Fourth of July everyone!!
Maybe the flavor is chocolate covered cherry???? Whatever ~ it looks delicious!
The pic looks great! Love the articles! Thanks.
Love that pic! Makes me want some ice cream right now.
Good looking picture, but better in person!
What is the new flavor in the picture? And when can we buy it?
I Thank GOD for Turkey Hill and Turkey Hill Ice Cream!
Where in the world would we be without the heavenly ice cream that makes us happy!
I’m enjoying this Turkey Hill Ice Cream Blog!
Gimmmeee Gimmmeee
Its a shame the pictures are not edible.
In our family, we debated what is the flavor displayed.
According to a trivia question at my local Curves, we burn 10 calories when we lick a stamp. I wonder if that also works with every lick of an ice cream cone?
looks like a snow covered mountain.
Happy 4th TH lovers! Can everyone get a spoon for those beautiful scoops?
Broke into a box of chocolate covered pretzel last night —- mmmmmmmmmm!!!!
Happy 4th. Turkey Hill for dessert!!!
Cookie Dough was our selection last night and it was delicious!
Yummy!! Happy Independence Day everyone!
If that ice cream pictured is chocolate covered cherry, I’m salivating already. Please tell us it’s going to be in the stores soon.
Yummy! Happy 4th everyone!
That picture was so temptatiously yummy looking that i had to go to the freezer and take a spoonful of the turkey hill vanilla bean that was in the freezer. Not a bad way to start the fourth. I think i will have some in my coffee this morning topped with a little fresh whipped cream. yum yum
Yum Yum Yum….
Mmmmmm……..May I Please Have A Scoop Or TWO…..?
A very big thank-you to each and every one of you out there that are a part of our United States military. Happy 4th of July. Treat a soldier to some Turkey Hill today. We raise our spoons, cones, etc. and salute you.

Wow, that’s some great looking ice cream!
Had to come back today and check out the picture one more time. Today I am going to mimic the picture. I got cherries, choc, nuts and lots of other ingred. to go with the Turkey Hill van. ice cream. I am going to mix these ingred. in it and serve as dessert to my family. Great picture, but it should have been Turkey Hill ice cream, maybe Bananasplit flavor. Linda
Yummy, yummy, yummy…Turkey Hill Ice Cream is the yummiest!
Oh now my screen is wet from trying to find out what flavor that ice cream is in the picture.
yesterdays article was right, I could live on just ice cream, look at this cherries and chocolate. these are food groups required by the lfda, lees food & drug affirmation. I affirm that this is a required food

Happy 4th to my ice creamahlics
Cold, creamy goodness! Who can resist?
Happy 4th, Everyone!
That picture is an inspiration. I will definitely celebrate today by including Turkey Hill ice cream. It’s great to live freely in a country like the United States. And I freely choose Turkey Hill as my favorite ice cream.
Happy 4th of July all you ice cream-holics! Best part of holidays is ice cream …. Turkey Hill, of course. Who needs home made when there is Turkey Hill.

Appealing photo! Ice cream at its melting point is my favorite time to eat it.
For the 4th I made a fresh strawberry and blueberry pie which will be topped with Turkey Hill vanilla ice cream.
Yum!
My favorite for the 4th of July is an ice cream flag cake. Just make any flavored cake in a 13″ x 9″ pan, and when cool spread it with softened Turkey Hill Vanilla ice cream. Add strawberries to make the red stripes, and blueberries for the stars. Timely and delicious!
For the fourth of July we are having fresh strawberry and blueberry pie topped with vanilla ice cream….yum!

Oh, that looks yummy! Happy 4th of July!
Next year can you make a neopolitan of Strawberry, vanilla and blueberry for the fourth of July. We plan to take our grand daughters today to a make your own sundae ice cream store. For me the toppings hide the lack of Turkey Hill quality but the kids have fun making a mess.
Turkey Hill ice cream is the best ever made!
Happy 4th.
I agree with Jack, Ice cream at its melting point is my favorite time to eat it.
Love your cherries & Cream, keep outputing good combows! LOVE TO ALL
It’s 10:30 AM and I haven’t had my breakfast yet. Your picture has made me very hungry and wishing that what I am looking at was going to be my morning starter.
I love to take a big spoonful of Turkey Hill anything chocolate or butter pecan into my mouth and let it melt gently on my tongue.
Happy 4th of July, Turkey Hill, Lancaster, and everyone in between.
HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!
That picture is amazing. I love when the ice cream just starts to melt a little. It seems to taste so much better. Although I’ve read that’s the best time to eat it because the flavor is at it’s strongest. I guess that must be true.
Tried the new Strawberry Banana Duetto yesterday. How could I have doubted that it would be fantastic!? Keep up the good work, you’re awesome TH!
Happy 4th to all-remember those who served this country so that we can celebrate-God Bless our troops!
We love your ice cream, we have been eating it the last couple years. We especially like your fruit bars and the venice ice soft served ice cream.

As you taste the wonderful flavor of the delectable Ice Cream treat of your choice, may you recall the fight for independence that is celebrated on this date the 4TH July and give praise to all those who are striving to keep our country safe and free.
EVERYBODY HAVE A WHIZ BANG OF A FOURTH. I ALSO LIKE THE IDEA OF NEOPOLITAN IN STRAWBERRY/VANILLA/BLUEBERRY FOR THE FOURTH.

What kind of ice cream is that? I’ve got to find some when we are in your neck of the woods at the end of this month! Our local grocery store here in the frozen North doesn’t carry much of a selection.
That looks like my one of my favorite flavors Black Cherry. Yummy Yum Yum. Just love it.
Happy 4th and a special one to our troops.
That looks yummy – I see chunks of chocolate!
WOW! Looks super-terrific…and I can also tell that it’s at the perfect temperature (not too hard, not too soft…as Goldilocks would say: just right!)
HAPPY 4TH TO ALL!!!
That looks good, but then almost all ice cream looks good. But while we’re enjoying the cool ice cream, our troops are in 100+ temps, carrying 100# back packs – remember them in your prayers.
Happy July 4th. A special hello and prayer to our troops who sacrifice so much in order that we can continue to celebrate this day.

I look forward to going to Pa in the spring so I can get my Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter cup ice cream. I live in Fl. in the winter and can not find ANY BRAND of ice cream better then Turkey HILL PEANUT BUTTER CUP.DJKER I WISH THEY WOULD COME TO FL.
I’m not a real big fan of cherry, so I’m hoping the photo is featuring raspberry with cookie crumb swirls in vanilla!!!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
How about naming that flavor of icecream in the photo Chocolate Covered Cherry even though the ingredients are pictured separate in the photo I love Turkey Hill icecream but our Shoprite doesn’t carry a lot of flavors. Is Colombian Coffee flavor still around? Or Inever found the banana foster duetto??????? Keep eating icecream it is good and relaxing for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fourth of July and more rain in NH. Thank Goodness for Turkey Hill Ice Cream!
It is the 4th must watch Yankee Doodle Dandy. Miss the family get together but they are in several different states and countries.
Today was beautiful and breezy, the sun is just being the sun, the radio dj is playing my favorite songs, and I’m just so grateful to have this moment and share it on the TH blog. Hope everyone is having a great 7/4/2009 day.
Happy Independence Day! Now the real question…should we share our Turkey Hill with our guests….hmmmmm
Don’t they say a picture is worth a thousand words??
Happy 4th! Love to celebrate with ice cream.
looks like ice cream made at old country fair
What a great enticement!!! Now I definitely have to get a bowl of ice cream-like right now!!
Oh my God I’m salivating, that looks sooooo good!
Too late I had already licked the screen before reading not to. LOL
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than with delicious TH ice cream, fireworks, and family.
yippie yahooie ice-creamy!!
Every 4th of July I ask my guest what flavor Ice Cream they would like to have for desert and I buy that flavor so if I invite 20 guest we have 20 different flavors of ice crean and I scope it in dishes with sections and we all go to town that how we celebrate the 4th of July every year. The kids enjoy it the most.
I’m back for the 3rd time to check out the picture. I had some TH on July 4th and it looked just like the picture when I was finished adding the extras. It was so much better then licking the computer screen LOL. Linda
I’m enjoying the daily TH updates. Today’s photo looks good enough to eat!
Okay, I’m trying not to drool on the keyboard.
Oh yes! Gimme some of that! Makes drooling on yourself okay!
I love Turkey Hill ice cream!! I love to try all the flavors that come out in my local grocery store. I never had Turkey Hill until I married my husband who has grown up eating Turkey Hill ice cream…now we turn our kids on to Turkey Hill ice cream and they love it too!! We do not have Turkey Hill in American Samoa where I’m from but, they should because Turkey Hill is the best!!
Looks sooo delicious. What flavor is it, I wonder??
As Rachael Ray would say, “Yum-o!”
MMMmmmmm MMMMMMmmmmm Good, that’s what Turkey Hill ice cream is….just plain great….
That ice cream looks so refreshing. I hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful 4th of July weekend weather.
Yum..when are they going to allow food to come through the computer!!
Yum, haven’t had an ice cream sundae night in 2 days, looking at that picture is making me think tonight is a good night for another
My husband was so glad that Wegmans still had the Southern Lemon Pie ice cream – his favorite so far. He’s not a real ice cream fan, but he does like that one!!!!
You made me do it-I licked my computer screen-Great Photo-Thimk I’ll go have a bowl right now:)
Yummmmm! It’s jusst perfect….not hard, melting a little bit! Like when I was able to grocery shop…When I was done unloading all the bags from the car, and finished putting the things away, I’d lift the lid off of the TH flavor that I’d gotten that day (usually strawberry or butter pecan), get a teaspoon and a bowl, go along the side & get all that melted icecream & put it in a bowl. Then I’d put the TH away and finally get to eat that melted to perfection, delicious icecream!! I miss being able to shop
Your Peanut Butter Ripple is the BEST! I melt some peanut butter in the microwave for a couple of seconds and drizzle it over the ice cream and top it with Spanish peanuts. YUM YUM YUM. It’s really hard to find the Peanut Butter Ripple in a store nearby so I usually have to do a little bit of traveling to get it, but OMG – it’s so worth it!
There is no doubt when it comes down to the quality and flavor of Turkey Hill ice cream. My only regret is that it is no
longer available in half gallons.
Chunky chocolate in coffee Ice cream is the perfect ending to a great meal…We need more chocolate chunks because ice cream…my 16 year old chocoholic (better than alcoholic) keeps stealing all the chunks of chocolate from your delicious ice cream…more chocolate chunks, please
Every Tues. nite is TH ice cream nite in my house after going out for dinner with my daughter. Save dessert till we get home so we can have the TH flavor we love. That means all flavors. Add the toppings and our dishes look just like this photo.
I need some more….
turkey hill light chocolate cover pretzel on waffles…yum yum!!
Has anyone won the Yankees tickets?
It would be nice if more flavors were added to the ticket selection.
My favorite is the Raspberry Venice® Ice
Yes you can live on Ice Cream alone as long as you have some fresh water. If stranded on an island, this is what I would want. Of course I would hope a freezer would wash up on the shore so I can keep it cold.
Turkey Hill….Ice cream and the Jersey Shore…Perfect together
I THINK TURKY HILL IS THE BEST IN THE WOLRD! I am impressed with the flavor varities you offer!
happy fourth everyone!!
Been out of town for a week and not had a lick of ice cream. My monitor is a bit damp…
Facebook?
Ummmmm–cool my tongue in summer, also spring, fall and winter.
Got to be Black cherry.
Spent the July 4th holidays with my son and daughter-in-law ~ on Friday I bought and introduced them to your Chocolate Cherry Cordial Ice Cream and by Sunday it was gone. Bought another on Monday! They loved it!
I do love my TH ice cream.Especially Southern lemon pie!
I just tried the new Double Dunker Limited Edition flavor and it is phenomenal! All of you coffee and cookie lovers shouldn’t let this flavor get away before trying it. You won’t be disappointed!
Yes my favorite is Southern Lemon Pie as well, but so hard to find in stock.
I found a piece of metal in my Turkey Hill ice cream. When I reported it you sent me a calendar. What flavor should we name that?
