A quick thinking Turkey Hill fan snapped this photo of our Giant Cow making a pit stop on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Ernie winced when he saw this photo because of the tight fit between the cow’s head and the roof, but she made it out okay (our drivers are professionals!). If anyone sees our Giant Cow this summer, take a picture and send it to us. We’ll post it here on the Ice Cream Journal!
Speaking of our bodacious bovine, the Turkey Hill Giant Cow is on Twitter. A week or two ago we told you Turkey Hill was on Twitter (feel free to check us out here), but now our cow is tweeting her days away. As you’d expect from a cow, her tweets are somewhat simple, but you can watch her and, if you’re a Twitter use, follow her here.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
You should bring the Giant Cow to our Three Rivers Festival Parade in July in Fort Wayne, IN. It is the biggest festival in Indiana!
Russ
My husband loves your moosetracks. Ever since he discovered it he has me buy it every week. Me personally loves any flavor and must have a bowl of ice cream every night before I go to bed.
I don’t know anything about twitter, but I still love ice cream
I don’t know anything about twitter, but love my ice cream
I’ll bet that was some “pit stop”
I even winced when I first saw this picture. That Was a tight fit. I’m glad she made it okay.
it looks like she just barely fit.
It looks like the Giant Cow is going to get a refill by eating from the giant tub of ice cream in front of her!
Glad to see your Cow traveling the PA roads! We just had Vanilla on a fabulous local berry cobbler….cherries and blueberries topped with a cobbler cake and ICE CREAM, of course!

Cute Picture! Hope that was the closest call the cow ever has….
Wow the cow must have been scared yikes!
Cool cow! I bet on Twitter she says ‘Moo…’ alot, lol.

Ok, the Giant Cow is a lot bigger than I thought. lol And how can a cow tweet without opposable thumbs? I think it’s Ernie… humm
The Shop Rite near my house in Hyde Park NY had a sale on your ice cream so I got a carton of birthday cake. I loved it.
Is there only one cow? It would be nice if anyone spotting her could have a free ice cream cone!Or you could swap gas in the tank for ice cream in our house!
Hahaha…so cute!
I wouldn’t mind a tub of ice cream as big as that one!!
What a great photo! Thanks so much for sharing. I love Turkey Hill!
One of my lifetime goals has always been to see the giant cow herself in person! I have pretty much stalked photos of her, and learned her history from the Turkey HIll page, but have yet to actually see her in person. I feel like we have such a history already or are such old friends because she is basically the mascott of the love of my life, so it pains me a little that I have not seen her. Perhaps I should relocate myself to Pennsylvania when I graduate from school!
Speaking of refueling cows…live cows that is. Since milk is a staple of a nutritious diet, and young human babies need it, olderly women need it, and really any human who is developing bones drink it, what do cows drink? Do elderly or mid-life cows also drink milk on a daily basis, or does water suffice for them? I have always knows that cows produce milk, but have only seen troughs of water for them to drink from. Do they drink a fluid (milk) that comes from their own body, or other animals milk, or do they only get water? Makes me wonder…
I live in western PA & was wondering if the cow ever travels this far west?!?
Top off the tank.
The cow made it to the Big E in Western Mass once, and they had a story about it going to NH for a party once, so it probably does get to NJ now and again.
I hope I see it sometime in my life… Hershey, PA…..(hint,hint)
What a cute pic! Thanks!
That must have been some sight!
Don’t bovines prodcue their own natural gas
to help the nevironment.
We are celebrating The Taste Of Buffalo this weekend. You should plan on sending the cow next year.Would be a “HUGE” success.
Does he get filled up with one percent, fat free or high test?
I didn’t know you had a giant cow. My son would love to see that.
That has to be a sight to drivers when driving down the road and a giant, cow passes you LOL
I would love to meet the giant cow, maybe get a photo with it.
And what flavor does the cow travel with in order to stay healthy and fit?
Great “bodacious bovine”! Thanks for sharing the picture.

How fun it must have been to see that sight!
We saw the Giant Swirly Cow one time, going down the PA turnpike! What a site that was. Unfortunately, it’s a little hard to take a picture when we were going in opposite directions! Still a site I”ll never forget though!
How cool! I’ve never seen the Cow in person.
I like the color.
I’ve seen the TH cow many times, the last time at a church on 72 here in Lebanon, Pa. It is always a awesome sight, makes me want to eat ice cream. It is really hugh. Linda

I’ve seen the cow going down the road several times, and it always makes me smile. By the way…does she have a name?
I would have loved to see that Giant Cow squeezed in there in person. Bet a lot of people stopped dead in their tracks to see that sight. That is the cutest way to advertise Turkey Hill products, really gets your attention!

Oh, Bovine Bessie, I hope you’ll be vacationing in the Allegheny National Forest next week. That’s where we’ll be, and I’d love to meet you up close and personal.

Okay fess up. When’s the cow coming to NYC?? We need bovine love in the form of copious amounts of Turkey Hill too!
Great AD and PR.
And I always thought you took the cow for a fill-up to the water tower by the train tracks of an old steam engine train line
I hope to see her when we return to PA for our summer vacation. We’ll have our camera handy in case we spot her!
Is there milk in those tanks? Cows don’t fill up with gas (I HOPE!!!)

I’ve never seen your cow except in a picture but hope I do get to see it soon.
When my grandchildren come to visit the first thing that say is “Can we have ice cream” of course I bring out the Turkey Hill and have an excuse to have some myself. I didn’t know they had a traveling cow. I have to tell the grandchildren to watch out for it.
Does the Giant Cow ever go out of PA.? We’d love to see her in northern VA.
It was a tight fit under that roof, glad she made it out OK.
Just tried vanilla bean for the first time. This is not your grandfathers vanilla.
are you going to have a “Cow” special ice cream ?????
GREAT COW !!!!
DOES SHE COME IN DIFFERENT COLORS OR SHOULD I SAY FLAVORS. HA HA.
I ALWAYS LOOK FOR HER ESPECIALLY WHEN TRAVELING THROUGH PA.
If the cow filled up with Turkey Hill icecream, how much would she hold? Now there is a trivia question for you.
I once saw the cow a few years ago at the Ice Cream Festival in New Castle County Delaware – AWESOME
Awesome picture! I have seen the TH cow up close and it is truly amazing! Not only do the kids love her, but so do the adults. I wish I had been there to see the toll takers face as well as other people who see a giant cow being driven down the road.

hi turkey hill,
i love the picture of the cow.do she have a name?
I want the cow to bring me ice cream right now. Summer school is a total drab on my summer, but ice cream makes everything better.
Would have loved to see cow on recent trip to PA but missed it. Bring it to Colonial Williamsburg, Va. Wonder, did they have ice cream in colonial days?
We have seen her twice at both our local Turkey Hill convenience stores. Guess we are among the lucky ones!! Keep MOOvin’ on down the road girl. All the children loving seeing you! My grandchildren would have burst they’re britches if they had seen that!!!
Love those Duetto cows and Duetto too!
The first and only time I saw the cow was while I was holding two grandchildren on my lap at my daughter’s house. I was facing the window and saw the cow go by on the road in front of their house. The kids didn’t believe me when I said I saw a great big cow drive by (actually, I wasn’t so sure I believed me either!), so we looked it up online. We can’t wait to have a chance to go see the cow one day.
Come to Hampstead, MD. Giant Cow!
That picture made me smile–I’ll have to see when she’s going to be in our area!!
HOLY COW that bovine is udderly humongous

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm duetto!!!
Cute cow…hope to see if in MD/DC area this summer.
I know this is a Duetta cow, but our stores seem to have stopped Duetta, and I love it. Especially the coconut and chocolate. All gone. Love that cow. Seen it many times here in Lancaster County. It was just to our two TH stores in Etown with free samples of the new ice creamcake. Delicious
I’m not a Twitterer, but I am happy to see the turkey hill cow anywhere, anytime.
Loved the picture of the cow. Keep the pictures and stories coming.
Kind of reminds me about the time I was in Lancaster and saw a horse and buggy pull up to the drive up window at the bank–just as I ran out of film. Glad you didn’t havethe same issue!
Wow! The cow just fit under there!!!! That is really neat!!!!
Your giant cow needs a name. She also needs a herd so many towns can receive bovine visitors simultaneously.
Imagine if that giant container of ice cream was real!
You should have a contest to name the cow!! Of course the prize would have to include Turkey Hill Ice Cream!!!
If I would eat as much ice cream as I want I WOULD BE A COW!!!
I would have loved to see the cow on the turnpike also! Bet she turned a lot of heads!!
Duetto is a great name, but since it’s already taken by the ice cream…Swirlz would be nice. Maybe Turkey Hill should have a contest for that-NAME THAT COW, MAN!

Living in Maryland these pictures are the only way I can see the Turkey Hill Giant Cow. I will just have to make a trip to Pennsylvania and see it in person.
We saw it. So cute!
love the cow, love the ice cream even more. keep it coming.
I’m so glad she didn’t lose her head over it!!
I would love to see the giant cow. She should visit the Elkhart County 4-H fair next summer(Elkhart County Indiana). It’s the biggest county fair in Indiana and the second biggest county fair in the US. Elkhart county has lots of ice cream lovers!!!!!!
She sure does come to NJ. We just saw her at the Special Olympics in June at the College of NJ in Trenton. She is always a welcome sight!
I like the idea of a “Name The Cow Contest!” I saw the cow at the Camden Aquarium…a photo just does not do it justice. WOW! That truck driver deserves a raise! Good job!

If you have never tried Turkey Hill Philadelphia Style Vanilla you absolutly must. It tastes so rich and wonderful that it is the only ice cream that stands up to my home made Blueberry Syrup. What a summer treat. Can’t wait for dessert time. Yum!
Your sugar free ice cream-vanilla is great!
