Here’s another stellar recipe from our holiday contest submissions. This one was submitted by Kathy S. of Cambria, CA and originally made with Peppermint Stick ice cream, but has been converted into a Duetto recipe. Enjoy!

CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRY DUETTO SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS

1 pkg. (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
2-1/2 cups Turkey Hill Cherry Duetto
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
1 cup milk
6 large ice cubes
Sweetened whipped cream (in can)

DIRECTIONS

In blender, combine cream cheese, Cherry Duetto, chocolate syrup, milk and ice cubes. Blend until smooth or until desired consistency is reached. Pour into chilled glasses. Top with whipped cream. If desired, drizzle with additional chocolate syrup. Serve immediately!

  23. Meghan S says:

Does anyone know of a good substitute for cream cheese? I have everything else in my refridgerator and pantry to make this delicious treat but no cream cheese :( And sadly, I am just really not much of a cook or baker so I wouldn’t know myself. It is probably because ice cream has always served me wonderfully for all the years of my life that I have not needed any other dessert. An ice cold bowl of ice cream has even functioned as a great breakfast, afternoon snack, and substitute meal. It leaves no crumbs, and when you eat out of the carton the only thing you need to clean is a spoon! It has so many other pros like no need for measuring, and virtually no expiration date (at least none that I would come near reaching since one carton doesn’t last longer than 3 days in my freezer). Still this recipe might be good for me to broaden my horizons.

  24. I scream says:

I did not even know that cherry duetto was a flavor of Turkey Hill ice cream! I feel like I have been living under a rock now for years. Unfortunately my grocery store (Giant Food Markets) and Wegmans around Binghamton, NY does not keep this flavor in stock. IN fact, the only duetto flavor that they have is the coconut one. I am tempted right now to order some online, but that would just take too long for it to be delivered. Perhaps I should consider a trip across the border to Pennsylvania as they are more likely to be better stocked with Turkey Hill ice cream. I think that might actually work better because I really want to try it.

  25. Yolanda Newton says:

You know, before this site I never thought about having receipes for ice cream….

  53. brenda says:

    Hi everyone
Yes you can use yogurt inplace of cream cream. You can use cherry yogurt or anykind of yogurt inplace of cream cream. It may be better for you. I have try it and it taste good.
