No, this isn’t a warm up for Monday’s trivia entry, but it is a fun quiz about ice cream. We found this 10 question quiz online and passed it around the office. Scores ranged from four correct out of 10 to nine out of 10. Nobody aced it, but maybe you can! Click here to test your ice cream knowledge. Good luck, and let us know with a comment what your score was!
As for the answers to this past Monday’s trivia questions, they’re included below. Good job to everyone who answered them all correctly!
1. Our All Natural Recipe Chocolate ice cream has 4 percent iron. We also overlooked that our Stuff’d Nutty Chocolate Moose Tracks tops them all with 6 percent iron, so we accepted that answer as well.
2. The Golden Opulence Sundae at Serendipity 3 costs $1,000! More about the world’s most expensive sundae can be read here (that it on the right).
3. The peak months for ice cream consumption are July and August. One trivia test online claimed June and July were the correct answers, so we gave credit those who used that survey as their source.
4. Approximately 50 percent of all ice cream novelties are consumed by adults.
5. Finally, Ernie got his “big break” in the dairy business at the tender age of about 18 months (per this blog entry). Some of you did the math and figured out when he started here at Turkey Hill Dairy, which we also accepted as his “big break.”
Again, good job to all who aced the test. We’ll announce our trivia winner soon!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
I got 7 out of 10!
Yikes only 4 right.
I got 6 out of 10. Guess I better study my ice cream harder!
70%…who’da thought Cali produced more ice cream than NY or WI or that New Zealand was #2 in ice cream consumption!! Also missed the black cow ingredients.
Can I take the quiz again.
I stunk!
I got 5 right.
I got 6 out of 10

I thought that this Monday Trivia was supposed to be easier. Maybe it’s just me, but it still wasn’t easy enough for me.
Wow I am bad at trivia! Congrats to all that got them right!
$1000??? Turkey Hill taste great, and it doesn’t cost anywhere that much? lol

Fun quiz! 9/10
I think my 1 serving of ice cream is a lot bigger than the one they mentioned, cause it sure takes me a lotta licks to finish off!
I got 60%. I guess I failed, but it was an interesting quiz.
That quiz was tough–I only got 7 out of 10. It was fun but more fun eating TH.
You don’t have to know alot about ice cream to know it tastes Delicious.
I only got 60 % not to good at least I did better on turkey hill trivia
who has time to look up the answers – my ice cream is melting!
I got 8 out of 10. For me that’s good especially when I was guessing on some questions. I am certainly getting an education on ice cream from this quiz and your Monday trivia questions. Keep them coming.
i only got 5 out of 5. guess i dont know icecream as well as i should. some more “research” is in order. Take me to the freezer.
Guess I’ve been out of school for too long…I got a 40%.
I think I need to go eat some ice cream.
wow now I’m definitely not smarter than a fifth grader.
I got 7 out of 10.
I got 9 out of 10, I think I got the one wrong because I was thinking of a dish of banana split ice cream and got distracted.!!!
wow i did terrible on that quiz!
Good Morning Turkey Hill fans
I did very good on the quiz. That picture of the ice cream sundae,….I would not pay any amonunt of money for an ice cream sundae. That cost $1,000. I would buy grocies five for 5 months and that is included turkey hills ice creams…..Let ask ernie this question. How turkey hill ice cream can I buy for $1,000 icluding taxs?
I love your ice cream!
I scored 4 correct. So I don’t know all about ice cream. I was surprised.
Caviar on top of ice cream? Yuck! Plus I bet Turkey Hill is better then that Tahitian Vanilla. Not to mention how much Turkey Hill you could buy with a $1,000.00. My score was 6 out of 10.
I know about the 7% Solution. Mine was the 70% solution, and my reward; Turkey Hill for breakfast, of course!
I got 4 out of 10 right. And here I thought I was an ice cream connoiseur.
I had 6 correct.
should have went with my first thoughts–I only got 6 out of 10 !!!!!! would have gotten 3 more with my first thoughts !!!! hahaha on me
I got 7…
And the Limited Edition Nutty Caramel Caribou Frozen Yogur also has 6% of the daily allowance of iron – Moose and Caribou are related, right?!
6 out of 10 on the quiz….but 100% on eating Ice cream.
Oh, I failed miserably. I think I’ll go study up with some ice cream.
Geez, I thought this was going to be a fun(?) puzzle! Forget it, I only got 60%! NO wonder I can’t even get a answer to the weekly questions, too hard! Or, maybe, I have freezer burn brain from too much Turkey Hill Ice Cream! YIKES!—–
I started failing on question #2,LOL
Six out of 10, better study harder next time!
Total score: 10 right, 0 wrong (100%) Congratulations!
Wish I could do as well on the weekly quiz!
My husband and I just had the best time with your trivia quizes. Finally got 100% on baseball trivia
Got 5 right….better than 1, I guess!
Fifty is nifty, but Turkey Hill fits the bill!
Fifty is nifty, but Turkey Hill fills the bill!
8-10 never heard of a blk cow cept @ the county fair. Time to go shopping -hoping 2 find more limited editions !
************************************* some of these capthas are way to hard to read!!!!!!!!1
I only got 4 out of 10 correct. I like to experience it, not study it!!
I got 6 out of 10
I got 5 out of 10 so now I will reward me to some GOOD OLD TURKEY HILL
scored 6 out of 10 i guess thats not bad
The Serendipity treat looks great…but, the price is a bit too high. I’ll stick with my Turkey Hill!!!
I thought this quiz was great. But I did not agree with the numnber of licks that it takes to eat an ice cream cone. Even when I get a tripple scooper of a cone, my ice cream does not last longer that 30 licks tops! But that is probably because I practically inhale the ice cream because it is so tastey and is not only my favorite dessert, but probably my most favorite food ever too. Yum. I can understand and accept that they were taking an average and that the whole quiz could not be based solely on my answers! I also wish that the answer to which month si ice cream month was all of the above. Because then we would have 3 months and nto just one to celebrate!
I only got a 50% score on the test! That is not passing. And I have never failed a test throughout my school career, and got straight A’s even through college. This is such a disgrace to me because I love ice cream so much that I thought I would know way more about it. I will now have to take this opportunity to explore more of the links for other ice cream pages so that I can brush up on my knowledge of my favorite food and will hopefully do better on a quiz in the future!
Forget it!
I got 8 out of the 10, didn’t know I was that smart, only wish I would have done as swell in school many years ago. LOL.. Linda
The only thing that looked good in that sundae was the ice cream.
6 out of 10
I’m really upset about the 25% price increase by Turkey Hill this year. Holding the price constant and reducing the size from 64 oz. to 48 oz. is a 25% price increase.
I didn’t have time for the quiz but appreciated the trivia answers.
I’d prefer to spend $1,000 on Turkey Hill for the year (I hope I don’t spend that much but if you could see how much ice cream I go through it may be true)than on one sundae.
How many did Ernie get right? Was he the 9 out of 10.
Wow – 7 right – think I’ll have some ice cream to celebrate!
Might want to circulate some recipes containing ice cream like ice cream sandwich cake.
Nine out of ten is preetty good, but not as good as Turkey Hill brand Ice Cream. Thanks for the brain power.
I look at that sundae from Serendipity 3 as a work of art only. It doesn’t look tasty to me – now a heaping bowl of TH, well that’s much more appealing
Bad! 5 Out of 5 WOW! I Need Help But, Not With My Eating & Buying Skills Of Turkey Hill!!!
Had Fun Though! Thank You!!!
$1,000- I’d rather have Turkey Hill!!
6 out of 10, I guessed a lot
I got 7 out of ten, not bad for a beginner.
I got a 70%. I got one wrong because I clicked the wrong choice and hit enter to fast! AH!
WOW! I surprised myself, got 9 out of 10! The only one I got wrong was which state makes the most ice cream – California, go figure!
Turkey Hill is the best!
10 out of 10! I guess that is good. But not as Turkey Hill ice cream. Thanks for making me use my brain.
Not too good of a score on the icecream quiz so I think I need to eat MORE Turkey Hill and more research!!!!!!!!
9 out of 10 – but I must admit I guessed on two! Fun Quiz!
I’m happy with my 7 out of 10. Fun quiz!
i got 6 right
I can make a pretty and tasty TH sundae for under a dollar!
serendipity in ny is so over rated. kind of creepy decor inside too. i’d rather sit down with a half gallon of turkey hill, fun friends and a pile of spoons
Right or wrong, it’s fun to take the test and see what one really knows.
I’m terrible at quizzes but I got 6!
My brain needed a cooling off after all that thinking– so of course a big bowl of ice cream did the trick !
love the new double dunker!
For those tempted to buy dessert at Serendipity 3, skip the Golden Opulence Sundae, pick up a carton of Turkey Hill on your way home, and send the savings to “Food for the Poor, Inc.”
I love your chocolate marshmallow. I wish you would make a chocolate raspberry swirl flavor.
I took the quiz and came out about even! Maybe next time I will do better! Anyway, Turkey Hill will always be on by list!! It is the best ice cream out there.
Anybody who spends $1000 for 1 sundae is just stupid. Think how many normal sundaes you could buy with that.
Thank heavens you don’t need the correct answers to eat the product! I’d have to starve.
RE Serendipity 3 and their $1000 sundae… 30 Rock did an episode in which a thinly-veiled Serendipity was called Plunder. Hilarious!!! It is SO not worth the price! I’ll stick with Turkey Hill, thank you very much!
7 out of 10 ain’t bad!
I also got 7 out of 10. California? Who’d of thunk it?
I got 6 out of 10, and I was scratching my head on some of them as like the “black cow,” as it took me back to my childhood to recall what went in it.
I still do not know what went into another soda fountain drink called a “Zombie.” Asd a non-alcoholic kids drink it was pretty popular in my area of Dorchester, MA.
FRL
million dollar sundae
Where did the name Turkey Hill originate?
5 out of 10 = 50%!
[...] Well, the dust has settled from our wild National Ice Cream Month celebration and we’ve finally been able to catch our breath. This was so tough that I just gave up and took my licks, quite literally, with more Turkey Hill. It sure made me feel better.
Congrats to all the winners!
