By a show of hands, has anyone here tweeted recently? Some of you know what we’re talking about. Others may be wondering if we’ve lost our minds. We’ll explain.
You may remember last month we briefly mentioned Turkey Hill’s new account on Twitter. Twitter is a social networking website that allows you to post short, 140 character announcements (or “tweets,” which are about as long as that first paragraph) several times a day. You can “follow” other people’s tweets and people can follow yours. You can also talk back and forth with each other. In short, it’s a lot of fun.
We use our Twitter account to announce Turkey Hill related news and to chat with fans and customers. We also have contests and ask trivia questions, which makes things fun too. So far, we’ve got over 1,200 followers, and our our herd is growing quickly every day. You don’t have to be a registered Twitter user to read our tweets (just visit us at www.twitter.com/turkeyhilldairy), but you do have to register to write your own tweets and to follow our tweets and the tweets of others.
Oh, and Turkey Hill’s own Giant Cow has her own Twitter account too! She moo’s a lot, but thankfully she has a cow-to-English translator. Check her out at www.twitter.com/turkeyhillcow. For now, we’ll leave you with a joke the Giant Cow told via her Twitter account the other day:
Moooooooo? Mooooo! (TRANSLATION: How does a farmer count
a herd of cows? With a Cowculator!)

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
I do know what you are talking about because I have recently started to “Tweet” and I have listed Turkey Hill as one of my favorites.
Love the joke….lol
I don’t tweet, as I find all this chirping rather bothersome. So much unsolicited chatter all around that I prefer the more introverted side of things.
i thought i cudda heard that moo before….lol j/k
I’m like JoePA…. I don’t know about tweedle dee or teedle dum, I don’t do that.
I love your ice cream!
Don’t Tweet. Don’t fly. Don’t care to be the early bird – because I don’t like worms on my menu. Or in my ice cream for that matter. Just an old-fashioned guy I guess. No cellphone either. Just two Dixie Cups and a REALLY long string.
I don’t tweet…. but I think it’s neat that the Giant Cow has her own twitter.
I don’t have much free time these days, so I haven’t started to follow Twitter!
Don’t tweet yet but TH has yummy ice cream. Guess I’m missing somthing since the Giant Cow can tweet.
The joke was real cute. Don’t twitter. Maybe someday
dont twitter
I tweet occasionally, just to advertise my latest novel The Drowning Pool. Today was 94 degrees and I went swimming at our swim club–not the same one as in the novel though. But the book is set in August during a heat wave like this one! Now I’m going to make milk shakes using Turkey Hill vanilla.
I’m not a tweeter either, but I love the TH journal and reading the posts. Linda
Hi Turkey Hill Fans,
I don’t tweet, I like this one better then tweet. Keep up the good work Turkey Hill
I don’t tweet and I am not a twitter, but I do love Turkey Hill ice cream and like to talk about it. I discovered Duetta in a size of dixie cups. Can’t find my favorite anymore, chocolate and coconut.
Don’t tweet, but do eat especially T.H. ice cream….LOL
Sorry I don’t tweet but I do eat a lot of Turkey Hill!
Not a tweeter, just an eater!…of TH ice cream!!
No tweeting here. If ALL the trivia and contest are going to twitter, well then I’m gonna miss ya!
Tweet tweet here tweet tweet there tweet tweet every where.
I can’t be bothered with “tweeting”.
I do tweet, so I clicked in to follow both the sites. Looking forward to reading about all the news from Turkey Hill.
I haven’t started to tweet yet. There are so many other ways to communicate. But I will still comment on the Ice Cream Journal. It’s where you can continue to praise the taste and availability of top quality Turkey Hill ice cream.
Sorry, not a tweeter now and never will be. Tweeting would definately cut into my ice cream eating time.
I’m a tweeter but don’t tweet much.
Sweets for the tweet.
I don’t tweet, but I just may have to because I love Turkey Hill!
Tweet tweet. I have an account but seldom use it.
I will never tweet, just not my thing.
I guess I am old school. I don’t tweet, twitter, text or own an ipod. Too distracting and unnecessary in my opinion. I just like to enjoy the simple things in life like Turkey Hill Ice Cream!!
Well Turkey Hill – it looks like most of your eaters are not tweeters …
I tried the Duet last night of the vanilla soft serve w/mango sherbert. Delicious ….
I tweet everyday. Its a great way to get updates from companies like Turkey Hill!
I tweet, but its not as sweet as Turkey Hill! Looking forward to new fall flavors and the old ones too!!
I don’t tweet either and I don’t feel left out seeing so many that don’t tweet either they just eat T.H. iceream like I do…:)
I don’t tweet. I have a facebook account but don’t know how to use it. I finally learned how to use the internet to find things. My hubby who in the 60′s to 90′s did mainframe programming writing in cobol, assembly and even machine language is not mush better than me. He can do excel which I can’t and some other non-internet things. We are the last generation of paper&pen and hard line telephones. A funny story is our 10 year old grand daughter visited and sae an object in my hubby’s office. She asked what it was. It was an old trimline phone with dial (not used anymore). She asked him how do you use it. Hubby said put your finger in the hole of the number you want and turn it to the end. I am sure they can tweet but not TWIST with Chubby Checker
I have never gone on a “Tweet” account. I am too old school. I do use the internet and check out facebook, but if it doesn’t come up quickly, I give up and look for something else. I do have a “Tweet” tooth for TH ice cream though. I never have a problem finding a flavor I don’t like there!
I have heard of twitter, but I have never been there. I do not foresee myself using Twitter any time soon. I have never used Facebook, Myspace or any other social website.
Like Fran said, it looks like most of our eaters are not tweeters. But some of you are. One thing we can all agree on though is our love of ice cream!
I AM ALSO FROM OLD SCHOOL. NO TWITTER, IPOD, BLACKBERRY, FACEBOOK, ETC. FOR ME. STILL TRYING TO LEARN ALL THERE IS ABOUT A COMPUTER. THAT’S ALL I REALLY NEED TO KEEP IN TOUCH.
I STILL LOVE TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM AND THAT’S ALL THE TWEETS I NEED.
I’m going to become a tweeter when I have time. I thought I was doing well to be part of a blog, but time and technology wait for no woman!
We sooooooo don’t tweeter. But we love Turkey Hill Ice Cream!!!!!
I am not a tweeter, but I am a screamer, I scream, U scream, we all scream for turkey hill. just got my first taste of the graham slam, yummmmmie.
I don’t tweet-must be a bird brain.
Can’t understand why you would want everyone to know what you do all day-
especially since you can’t eat T.H. and tweet at the same time
Are you kidding me? Since I have moved to my new house, where high speed internet in not available, I’m stuck with dial-up. I can barely communicate with my nearest and dearest, let alone tweet strangers.
Feeling sorry for me now? How about a nice dish of something cold and creamy and definitely Turkey Hill – mmm,a treat that sounds better than tweets!
I don’t tweet…but, I’ll tweet for Turkey Hill just like the kids in the commercials.
Hi Turkey Hill! I do not twitter but I wanted to let you know how much I LOVE two of your products!! In college I was obsessed with mint iced tea, but then was unable to find it in stores anywhere. I was delighted to find your T.H. Mojito Iced Tea at my local Wawa! Also, I have to tell you that I have tried a variety of “cake-related” ice creams and there is only one that rocks my world…T.H. Party Cake Ice Cream! (In fact, I could go for some right now!!) I love Turkey Hill…keep up the good work! <3, Julie
