Okay, to answer the question about which news item from our last blog entry was fake, the answer is #1 (there’s no such thing as flavorless ice cream). Yes, unfortunately that means that the story about Viagra ice cream is 100 percent true. And now, on with our recipe!
Continuing our trend of paying homage to excellent recipes submitted during our holiday recipe contest, this one was sent to us by Cathy M. of Lynnfield, MA. Cathy’s recipe was called “Crispy Egg Nog Crunch,” but we put a non-holiday twist on it by renaming it “Crispy Cookie Dough Crunch.” How can you say no to that?
CRISPY COOKIE DOUGH CRUNCH
INGREDIENTS
2 cups crispy rice cereal
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup chocolate hot fudge sauce
1 container Turkey Hill Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, combine the cereal, brown sugar, walnuts and coconut. Drizzle mixture with butter; stir until combined. Press half of the mixture into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. dish. Cut Cookie Dough ice cream into 3/4-in.-thick slices; arrange evenly over crust. Drizzle ice cream with chocolate syrup.
Top with remaining crumb mixture; press down lightly. Cover and freeze until serving. Cut in squares and serve on dessert plates. Makes 12 servings.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

Love your recipes….thanks for some great dessert ideas!!
This sounds like something Turkey Hill could use as a feature flavor ice cream cake. Sounds good, but I’d rather buy it then make it.

Sounds like a “flavorite” to me!!!
THIS HAS TO BE DEEEEEEELISH!!!!!

This recipe sounds wonderful. I will have to make it this weekend. Thanks for sharing. Linda
Lets save time and work and take the Turkey Hill Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream, cover with Hot Fudge and add whipped cream.
This recipe sounds great. Definitely a keeper.
Sounds like a great recipe!
You can always improvise. Crush just about anything you have in the house such as cookies, stale or fresh, and roll ice cream in them. Nothing sweet around the house? Then try crackers and add some sugar and spice. How about pretzels, chips, or anything else? Just pound, taste and improvise. Add that Turkey Hill and now you have your own new Flavor of the Day!
This sounds so good!
The recipe sounds yummy. Now, if I could only find some else to make it for me, I’d be set!
I should have read the article about a blank canvas ice cream more thoroughly….it said that vanilla ice cream is a blank canvas…oh well, at least I did know that the viagra ice cream was true!

Hi Turkey Hill Fans,

Sounds good, but I’d have to leave out the coconut because I have a sulfite allergy
