SEPTEMBER PRIZE: CERAMIC ICE CREAM CONES (AND A NEW BLOG)

Posted by Turkey Hill Team on September 8th, 2009

We’ve said it before: As ice cream lovers, we don’t eat enough ice cream cones at home. Sure, we’ll grab a cone at the local ice cream shop or at the county fair, but why don’t we have a double scoop now and then in comfort of our own living room?

This month’s prize is designed to inspire each of us to do just that. They’re not real ice cream cones, but they’re the next best thing. It’s a set of eight colorful ceramic ice cream cones you can use for serving ice cream at your next party (that’s them pictured above). The set even comes with an equally colorful set of matching spoons.

We’ll choose one comment at random from all the comments on the Ice Cream Journal this month to receive this prize. And, as always, we’ll throw in some Turkey Hill ice cream to help fill those cones!

We’d also like to take this time to shine a spotlight on a new member of the ice cream blogging family. His name is Russell, and he’s the author of a blog called Ice Cream Geek. On Ice Cream Geek, Russell covers all sorts of ice cream-related topics, but mainly focuses on how to make ice cream at home. Welcome to the family, Russell!

The Ice Cream Cone Dishes are simply adorable and I like those cone handle spoons but I have to leave it at that because I never win anything… If there was a raffle with only 2 tickets, I would hold the loser. Just my luck. I live with it and move on, but ceramic ice cream dishes can not keep me away from getting my favorite ice cream. And that is what counts…

I don’t know what’s cooler – the cone dishes – or the matching spoons – or the Turkey Hill ice cream pictured inside. Would love to score a set of 8 for myself and my 3 ice cream loving children – but the question is – do I then get to give each of us a second helping of a second favorite flavor – or invite 4 of the neighbor’s kids over to help put the full set into action? Both. Sounds good to me.

Hi Turkey Hill Fans, I love the ice cream cones. They are so cute. I can eat ice cream in them all the time. Here is my recipe for them. Buy any kind of turkey hill ice cream, have some pieces of vanilla cookies or pound cake. Place a little of ice cream topping in the bottom of the ice cones then add some pieces of cookies or pound cake then top with turkey hill ice cream, then top with whipped cream and your flavor ice cream sauce or topping. their you have your very own ice cream cone top with your flavor topping. They are good enough for guest. Your guest will love them.
